Tim realized he hadn't heard anything from Night Wolf since the EMP had
gone off. Now he called her on the radio.
"Wanderer are you Ok Sweetie?" he asked.
"Yes Daddy, we were just analyzing the source of the EMP and
coordinating with the revived builders," she answered.
"Can they get another Portal brought in?" he asked.
"Not unless we reconvert to a ship and fly out to the nearest Terminal.
But the ones here can create a new one faster."
"Does Wanderer know where that EMP came from?" asked Missy.
"Yes Momma, it originated on Tran Four which is this same planet in the
fourth Cloud Bank." She was quiet for a moment. "Norie Doru had no idea
that it could jump the Cloud Banks. She was afraid her Mother had come
for her."
"Why would she set off an EMP?"
"To terminate all the Skecksies in the system. Momma, she really didn't
mean to harm anyone but the Skecksies," answered Night Wolf.
"Sweetie, how does Wanderer know all of that?" asked Jill.
"Because she has been talking to Galaxia and Unicorn. They will be here
soon though."

Cloud Nine; Cloud Bank Three; O'shawi Cloud system.
The Rail Builders lay crumpled along the sides of the newest track, of
the Portal there was nothing but blackened pillars jutting up out of the
ground.
Taizu folded his wings over his back as he walked among them sensing
that they still held a tiny spark of life. Knowing that in time they
would draw enough energy from the planets core to revive. But what had
caused this disaster in the first place? Could it be the Skecksies that
his sister had warned about in her messages? Should he take Star Hopper
and go in search of her? At one thousand nine he was the youngest of his
family. Though he only looked about fourteen, he was not without
experience. His obsession with the railroad had earned him the position
of overseeing the expansions.
Star Hopper was already relaying the events to Second Home. Slowly one
builder began to stir as Star Hopper fed power to its systems to analyze
the source of the EMP burst.
Taizu was listening to the chatter between his ship and the builder when
another ship hurled out of a sudden Phase Jump portal. But this was not
a Bio-Ship or even one of the Cylon ships of his brother inlaw. This
ship was an armed warship.
Instantly Taizu was transported aboard his own ship.
"Icarus, what are you doing here?" called Captain Deirdre Coil of the
Star Command Fleet Scout, Rampage.
"I am Taizu, how do you know Icarus? And what news do you have of my
sister?" he demanded. "Are you the source of this destruction?"
"Oh please forgive me," began Coil realizing her mistake. "We were
following another ship to find the Loki, Norie Doru. But she set off a
planetary Electro Magnetic Pulse. We were running trying to escape its
effects and opened a blind Phase Portal."
"Is my sister safe?"
"I certainly hope so, she wasn't anywhere near us at the time."
"Taizu, I have their entry coordinates into the Cloud Bank System. I can
jump us there," stated Star Hopper.
"If you are going through the cloud bank you'll want us along. There is
a huge war happening between the Exiled Ancients. That's why we were
there, to try and end it," Coil informed him.
"You will come aboard Star Hopper while I wait to hear from my father if
we are to go there." Coil was suddenly aboard the O'shawi ship.
"So Captain Coil, tell me of this war while we wait," bid Taizu.

They had reached the site of the Observatory and Communications Relay.
Wanderer was busy conversing with the Road Builders.
"Daddy," began Night Wolf. "They say that they will have to create a
Phase Portal. The end of the damaged freeway is too far out to reach
with a standard one."
I could tell there was something she was holding back. As if she was
weighing a huge decision. Then she said, "No sacrifice is too great for
the safety of my family and these Universes."
"Sweetie what do you mean?" I asked almost panicked. But before I could
get an answer I had two interruptions.
Lifeline standing by at the portal site called just then to report the
builders were removing the remains of the old Portal. I was wondering
what she meant when Shimmer reported an approaching Bio-Ship.
"Daddy, it's another O'shawi ship," Night Wolf informed me. "And Star
Commands Scout ship, Rampage."

Romancer was delivering the new medical building to Elveron Three when
news of the Wyoming's Convoy being lost reached them.
At first Racine was confused as to why they'd been notified. Then she
remembered Tatty had been talking with Bird Catcher who had a big secret
to tell her when next they were together, and he was currently traveling
with his older sister.
It was still two weeks until Mid-Winter Fest, and Bird Catcher had
promised to meet them at the Terrellian Winter Palace. She looked at
where the convoy had been lost.
If she made seven space fold jumps in the Claw she could be there in
three days. But Felisha was already at the Winter Palace with Tatty, and
they had the Claw with them. Grandmother Morella was spoiling them as
well as her new Grandson, Mortru.
Could this be why she'd been compelled to deliver this building herself?
She began looking over the other long range shuttles available to her.
"Mistress, the claw is five minutes out, requesting to land and refuel,"
the shuttle bay captain told her.
"Put them on my Personal Screen," she prepared to ask Felisha why she
was out here.
"Racine, Love, umm," began Mornik's startled response.
"Are Tatty and Felicia with you?" she asked quickly.
"No I was hoping to go to Cloud Nine and be back before they realized I
was gone or why," he answered. "My mother is keeping them busy."
"Commander Nuri, Finish the contract. And tell no one that I have left
with my husband." Already she was on her way to the shuttle bay to meet
him. "Lieutenant Florell, add the extended range fuel tanks to the Claw
as soon as she lands," she directed as she stopped first in her personal
quarters.
Already they were attaching the tanks, and fueling the mains as she
stepped onboard.
"Love before you get your fur up," began Mornik. "Tarri asked me to
come."
"Tarri? Why would our Queen be concerned about the convoy?" she
countered forgetting that he thought she would be upset.
"There are two Taranoths with the convoy as well as Crystal Sages only
surviving brother."
Her jaw dropped open. Then she recovered, "What is a Taranoth? I've
never heard of them before."
"Well grab your tail for this one," he said. "Because they originated on
Earth, and Bird Catcher is bonded to one. Well actually to a
Wolf/Taranoth but pretty much the same thing."
"Mornik, please just tell me what they are," she requested as she kissed
his lips.
"Not with half the shuttle bay listening in," he cautioned as she began
adjusting his jump calculations. They weren't that far off but his
course plots explained why he'd burned way too much fuel to get here.
"BB, report to the Claw ASAP," she called her next best pilot. "Mornik
you need to sleep, and I can't run deeper into the uncharted zone
without a copilot."
As soon as they were racing towards the first space fold jump point
Mornik began.
"Taranoths are a cross breed between Earth Tarantulas and Goliaths. But
Earth scientists managed to splice in both Goth and Phase Spider DNA
along with the Shifter Genes from their Alpha programs. The
Wolf/Taranoth is actually the offspring of a Wolf Spider who wandered
into the facility."
"How did Tarriana find this out?"
"They were to be the guests of honor at the Mid-Winter Ball," he told
her. "And I suspect she doesn't want Astrid to know they are lost out
there, not with four IGP Transports along."

I watched as the O'shawi ship that looked like a much smaller version of
Icarus landed beside Wanderer. But why was it here, and why now?
Watching as the door finally opened I was standing beside Night Wolf
when he stepped off to greet her.
His velvety wings folded across his back he bowed to her. "I see you
Cousin, I am Taizu, Tangie's youngest brother and coordinator of our
Railroad Builders," he began.
"Oh," she blushed. "I see you, I'm Night Wolf Wyoming. Wanderer is the
coordinator of the A'shiwi Road Builders." She actually giggled.
This guy can't be more than seventeen maybe nineteen tops, I thought as
I tried to adjust for Ancient Aging differences. But he definitely
looked about the same age as Night Wolf.
"Are you safe here? Did your Builders experience the effects too?" he
was looking around studying those that were still recovering.
"So it did jump to all the Cloud Banks," realized Night Wolf.
"The captain of the Star Command ship, Rampage tells me that it was set
off to destroy some race called Skecksies. But the person did not know
that it could jump the Cloud Banks," he said as he reached out and took
her hand in his before kissing it.
What was happening here? I'd never known her to accept such intimate
contact from any boy outside of our family. And here she was practically
falling all over him.
"Uhhh, she is Norie Doru. Crylon Regent's half-sister," she answered.
"Why does your Bio-Ship look like one of these trucks?" he changed the
subject.
"Oh, so she can actually travel the Intergalactic Freeway. But she still
flies when we need to."
"I understand that you share a blood bond with your ship," he said.
"Isn't it cute?" asked Missy. At my blank look she said, "I think maybe
she's finally found herself a young interest."
"What? She's not old enough to be," Jill covered my lips with her
fingers.
"To us she is only thirteen. But she was born over two thousand years
ago," she reminded me.
"Yes and jumped forward in time," Missy reminded Jill. "Of course I
don't think there is too much of an age difference here."
They were walking holding hands, oblivious to those around them.

Pointing to a scanner reading BB said, "That's a really big portion of
destroyed Freeway. I hope no one was on it."
"So do I," commented Racine. "Run along the former path, we'll come in
over the Portal."
Almost at the planet, Racine saw the Kinetic energy readings beginning
to spike. Now she grabbed the controls, firing the thrusters as she
changed course.
"Why did you do that?" asked Mornik and BB together as they picked
themselves up off the floor.
"That's a Phase Portal spooling up," she said just as the wormhole shot
out seeking the end of the freeway.

"Hey everyone I've got a dozen of those builders here going nuts.
They're stationary but they're beginning to spin in place and increasing
speed," reported Lifeline.
"Oh shit," they heard. "Get us out of here, they're creating a Phase
Portal."
A few moments later the crack of the initial activation was heard all
the way to the Observatory.
"Momma's, Daddy we should have a moment of silence to thank those twelve
for their sacrifice," stated Night Wolf. She touched her forehead. "I
thank you for your life force," she said softly. We each did the same.
"You are her parents?" asked Taizu now with confusion.
"We adopted her," stated Missy.
"Taizu, they saved my life," she said. "I was buried under tons of snow
when they found me."

"Wyoming Trucking do you hear us?" I heard over the key in my pocket.
"Yes we hear you, is this Mistress Demure?" I asked recognizing her
voice from the few times we'd spoken.
"Yes, is Bird Catcher with you?" she asked.
"I'm here Ma'am, is Tatty with you?" asked Catcher.
"No she is at the Winter Palace on T4. We came to discover if everyone
was alright." Answered Racine.
The Claw landed next to Waitress and Catcher hurried to greet everyone,
Mouser riding on his shoulder.
"Catcher, I see she's still with you, and she's growing into quite the
pretty little lady," grinned Racine. Then as she hugged him she
whispered, "Don't worry, we'll keep Mousers secrets."
"Thank you Mother of Tatty," said a small voice. "But everyone here
already knows." Racine stepped back and looked in startled awe as the
little Spider first stood on her four hind legs then stretched upward,
shifting into a pretty little tigress about nine inches tall.
She had momentarily captured everyone's attention yet again. As they
watched her conversing with Racine, no one saw the way Night Wolf was
reacting to Taizu's presence. The fact the two were now standing holding
hands as they stared into each other's eyes. The silent conversation
flashing between them as they compared all manner of things concerning
both the Skyway and the Railroad.
Suddenly the Builders and the two Bio-Ships captured everyone's
attention.
"WARNING, I'SHIWI CONTACT EMMINANT!" blared from the ships.
Freed from the implants, Dominique had resumed control of her family's
ship. As a result he now had full use of his systems again, he now read
as an I'shiwi Self Aware Ship, a forerunner to the Bio-Ships. And
Dominique was now fully in her wolf form.
In fact the only difference between the two was that the Bio-Ships had a
living outer hull as well internal structures. They could continue to
grow and change shape as needed.
"What are they doing here?" asked Night Wolf.
"Lone Wolf is nearly out of fuel, they need to replenish," answered
Wanderer. "They have my protection."
"Taizu, no intentional harm was done," warned Night Wolf. "And they are
in our Cloud now."
He kissed her hand and bowed, "As you will it. I need to send messages
to home. They will want to know what is happening," he said before he
stepped back and was gone.
"Tim," BJ was pulling on his shirt sleeve, motioning to Night Wolf. She
was standing there looking at her hands, turning them over and over.
"What's wrong?" he finally asked.
"Has she wiped off her hands yet?" asked Jill.
"No," answered Missy.
"I think she's confused about her feelings," said Darlene and Flower
together as they started her direction.
Up until now she'd never allowed the touch of any male not from her
family. At least not without washing her hands afterwards. If they
touched her clothing she had always changed it right away. This was a
side of her that her adopted family had never seen.

"Taizu, what news of this war, and the one responsible for the
Electromagnetic Pulse?" asked his father. "Have you heard from your
sister?"
"I, Father I am about to meet with the one responsible. But I have been
forbidden to take any actions by an A'shiwi that is here," he said.
"What? Does this A'shiwi know what has happened?" his father demanded.
"She, she knows father," he answered. "She is unlike anyone I have ever
met."
Now his mother edged into view, an amused grin playing across her face.
"Star Hopper, show me this A'shiwi," she requested.
Along with the video, there were also the ships brainwave and Bio scans.
The couple watched in silence as the scene between their youngest child
and Night Wolf played out. Zaria took note of her sons own pulse
quickening as they watched.
"Do you understand your feelings, son?" asked his mother.
"I'm not sure mother, I never felt this way before," he answered
honestly.
"Would you follow her anywhere she decided to go?"
"Zaria?" asked his father.
"He like our daughter is in love Dorn. And there is nothing that we can
do but accept it happily," stated Zaria.
"But you saw the video. She admits that those humans are her parent's,"
he said.
"Then you can stay here," she said. "I will take Calderon and we will go
meet these human parents of our future daughter in law."
At mention of his name the O'shawi First Ship responded, "Yes my
mistress?"
"Make ready to fly, we are going to the A'shiwi Cloud Bank."
Dorn might be the eldest leader of the O'shawi, but his wife Zaria was
the Bondmate of the First Ship Calderon. "Please send messages to Tangie
and Crylon that we are coming," he made up his mind.

Lone Wolf landed next to Wanderer who bid him lower his shields that the
Builders might give him fuel, assuring him that no one here would harm
him or anyone aboard.
As a result, three of the builders took up protective stations around
Lone Wolf.
Having never seen Nokie Doru, I wasn't sure what to expect in seeing his
twin sister Norie. I had to have it explained to me by Night Wolf about
her last name.
"Loki follow a matrilineal inheritance," she said. "Which is part of why
no one believed Cylon was actually planning to overthrow the Ancients.
Their children take the first name of their mother, to become their last
name. Their mother was Doru Skyia. Daughter of the Loki Queen Skyia."
She was beautiful as she glided down the ramp in human form. Then I
realized she looked like Col Dominique of Star Command. Then as she
looked at Missy, her image shifted, then changed to a half human looking
Loki.
She wasted no time at all in greeting Missy. "It is good to see you
here. To know that one more of Stephanie's Sisters has survived."
"Thank you," responded Missy. "I'm happy to meet you as well."
She thought for a moment her face changing expressions a bit to show she
was thinking. "Did Malissa, Stephanie Wolfe and Destiny survive also?"
"Malissa and Stephanie both made it, but we never knew there was another
one," gasped Missy.
"Then it seems my information was wrong," she apologized. "I had a spy
who was watching Earth for me. I was told that she was a Military Cadet
with the second Convoy along with your youngest sister Stephanie."
"Could she mean that girl Destiny we met when we were there? You know
the one I mean?" asked Jill.
"She doesn't look like," said Missy. "Wait, she became one of Stephanie
Wolfe's Apprentice's."
Norie was busy doing something on her PDA, then a Holo image of the girl
Destiny popped up.
"That's Destiny Evans alright," chipped in Longreach and Danny together.
"Except she kind of does look like the three of you now, just a little
shorter and red headed," finished Cpt Coil. "She's still with Stephanie
Wolfe."
I just stood there blinking my eyes unsure of how to respond. Did
Malissa Know? What about the Colonel or Stephanie Wolfe? Did either of
them know about this?
I suddenly realized she was looking at Missy studying her hard. Then she
said, "Ahh you were the second one that was stolen. The Mover."
"Stolen?" asked Missy.
"Yes the three of you were stolen from the Government Laboratory. Janet
Riggs, helped to implant each of you at separate stages, but I am sorry
I have no idea what her ultimate plan was. I do know that the Phase
Spider Queen Leila discovered you and took steps to hide the four of you
from her. But then I was exiled, and could not keep up with where you
were, only the Colonel, was I able to keep track of until recently."

The scientists were busy unloading our trucks, trying to reestablish
communications with the rest of the Cluster of Universes. So while we
waited we had plenty of time to visit over the next five days.
I noticed Missy, Jill and BJ watching the interactions between Night
Wolf and Taizu, who seemed to be doting on her every word.
Finally after four days my curiosity got the better of me, I had to know
a few things as her Daddy.
"Taizu, please forgive my forwardness, but I was wondering how old you
are?" I began.
"Daddy!"
"It's alright, I understand his concerns," said Taizu. "Sir I know that
I'm still young, but at one thousand nine I have already gained a lot of
knowledge and experience in the ways of the universes. Also I am not
without means of supporting Night Wolf well into our future together."
I blinked a bit, 'one thousand years old?' "You said you were the
youngest of your siblings?" I quickly recovered.
"Yes, Torrina is in her twenty third century, Cardigan is in his twenty
first and Tangie is in her sixteenth," he answered with a polite smile.
"I will be perfectly happy to dual with Night Wolf's brothers for the
privilege of courting her," he was eyeing Red, Danny, Longreach, and
TooTall.
Both Danny and Longreach began rolling up their sleeves.
"Sons?" I questioned.
"It's ok Dad. We saw a similar Dual at the Academy when Denver and
Denton had to dual Stell's brothers," said Longreach. "Red you and
TooTall better roll up your sleeves, you're counted among her brothers
too."
"You would engage in violence?" gasped Night Wolf.
"Violence?" scoffed Danny. "It's just arm Wrestling." He was leading the
way to a table near the center of Waitress' dining room.
"Red," he looked into her pleading eyes. "Please don't hurt him."
Red just grinned before saying, "Maybe we should Leg Wrestle. My sister
is afraid I'll hurt your arm."
"I've not Leg wrestled in a while," chuckled Longreach.
"I haven't leg wrestled at all," admitted Danny flexing his arm.
"Splendid. I shall keep with your family customs, as you keep with mine.
First we Arm Dual. Then you will teach me this Leg Wrestling." Taizu
slid his right sleeve up past his elbow.
Danny had to really put a lot of effort into it. But he almost won
before his arm was pinned to the table. Next it was Reds turn, and it
was quickly over as Red wasted no time in slamming Taizu's hand to the
table.
I was sure that the next two would end the same way. But I was surprised
to see him struggling as he finally pinned both Longreach and TooTall's
hands to the table.
They wasted no time in clearing the center of the room as Waitress
formed thin cushioned Matts.
"Perhaps a demonstration first," I finally suggested.
"Longreach," TooTall patted the mat as he dropped to his back flexing
his right leg. Longreach lay down facing the opposite direction so that
their right hips were together.
Stepping to the side I counted as they lifted and lowered their legs,
"One, two, three, Go!"
Their legs came up, their ankles locking behind each other as they
struggled to flip the other over. There was cheering and goading as the
onlookers encouraged them both. Finally though TooTall rolled up and
over his shoulders as Longreach won out.
"Splendid," clapped Taizu. "Red shall we have a go?"
Again I counted to start the match. The two struggled against each other
for long minutes. And then I saw Taizu's rear end raising up, his back
stiffening as he struggled before finally he curled his back to roll
over.
But then as he finished his roll, Red had sat up following him. Red's
right arm shot out to grip Taizu's forearm. His left hand clapped him on
back. "Well fought brother." "Night Wolf," he was helping him to his
feet. "Don't let him get away little sister." He put their hands
together.
"Son, what is going on?" we all turned to see two strangers standing at
the edges of the crowd.
"F, Father, I was earning the right to court Night Wolf Wyoming. These
are her brothers. And this," he bowed as he motioned toward me, "Is her
Daddy." "Mr Wyoming this is my Father Dorn, and my Mother Zaria Athene."
I could see the puzzled look in his eyes, he wasn't expecting his
parents to show up. Or at least not yet anyway.
Zaria was very elegant, her soft feathered wings folded, standing up
above her shoulders. Dorn was a contrast with his velvety soft leathery
wings. And both were very much interested in knowing what was happening
with their children.
I learned that they had been watching everything as Star Hopper had
relayed it to Calderon. Evidently Star Hopper had not alerted Taizu that
his parents were here.
"Tim, you have a wonderful family. I can see how much you care about all
of your children," said Dorn.
"Without my wives, I would be lost," I admitted. "They help me keep
track of everyone, reminding me of birthdays and anniversaries."
"And births about to happen?" asked Zaria from where she was sitting
with Missy, Jill and BJ
"Especially with births," grinned Missy.
They seemed fascinated as well as pleased that we had two Avians in our
family. And especially happy that TooTall counted their children, though
obviously not his, as his own. But then they looked puzzled at Spotted
Eagle, Sugar's son by TooTall.
"He will be a strong Shifter," predicted Zaria.
We'd never heard of an Avian Shifter. Avian's were born either male,
female or dual sexed until they reached puberty. The majority were born
dual sexed though, and in the more open families were allowed to express
themselves any way they chose. Sugar and Spice's family had pushed for
females, to bring in strong males that could not inherit any of the farm
lands.
Finally they expressed their desire to meet Norie Doru.
She was clearly unsure as she stood before them. Then Zaria reached her
hand out to her.
"Fear not child, you did what you thought was right to save these
universes," she said. "And you even befriended an I'shiwi and helped her
to remain free." She smiled at Colonel Dominique and her daughter
Monique.

As we began lining up for our return, we were barraged with requests for
reports on the incidents. I know the IGP Transports were busy relaying
their own. Including the arrival of Norie Doru as well as Zaria and Dorn
Athene.
It was the latter that now caused the most chatter between the
transports and IGP Command.

Star Hopper was full of questions for Wanderer.
"How can you stand to humble yourself as a beast of burden?" he asked.
"Did we not begin as such, carrying supplies and passengers for the
Ancients?" she reasoned. "Besides it gives me satisfaction to know that
I am appreciated. Haven't you ever wondered what it would be like to be
a Locomotive?"
He was deep in thought when Wanderer added, "I would let you pull my
second trailer. Night Wolf would be so pleased to teach Taizu the Star
Drivers slang."
"I will discuss it with Taizu," promised the O'shawi ship.

Icarus and Galaxia arrived as the convoy began shooting the new portal.
Now they sat with Calderon watching as the convoy began its journey
home.
On Iridani Five the Convoy status board in both the Diner and the
Dispatch office chimed as it began displaying the status of the Wyoming
Convoy.
Coyote looked over at Nika. "Who is Star Hopper?"
In the double file lineup Hopper was listed behind Beauty and Ice Pack,
Ute Warrior was beside her. Three pairs back, just in front of Star
Hopper was Big Beast. Beside him and in front of Star Hopper was
Waitress.
Coyote sent a quiet enquiry to Tim using his Email.
"Star Hopper is driven by Night Wolf's fianc?, Taizu Athene." Was the
reply.
Nika watched Coyote's face as she reread the message several times. "W,
wait isn't that Tangie's last name?" she asked.
