December, 1984, Chicago, Illinois

In the morning I woke up at my usual time to find Kara already awake and apparently watching me sleep. I kissed her and then we got out of bed so that I could shower and she leaned against the counter in the bathroom while I did. She took a shower after me, and we went back into the bedroom to dress. Elyse was sitting up in bed stretching, so I went over and kissed her.

We headed down to breakfast and after I ate, I kissed the girls goodbye and left for work. I picked up Dave and we drove out to Nuvatec, where, as I expected, Scott called me into his office.

“Now do you see what I was talking about?” he said crossly.

“I do,” I agreed. “I screwed up, Scott. In a major way. I’m sorry. What are we going to do about Charlie?”

“We aren’t going to do anything. You’ll continue as you planned. She’s innocent until proven guilty. If she is guilty, then it’s up to the disciplinary committee to decide on the appropriate punishment which could be a reprimand, suspension, loss of credit, or expulsion. But for purposes of the class, continue as you had planned before this revelation.”

“She had me completely snowed,” I said.

“To be honest, and off the record, she had me snowed as well. I believed her when she said that she wasn’t involved. If Callie had named her, she might be able to get by. The fact that Bert named her pretty much sinks her.”

“She comes to study group at my place every weekend, and usually spends the night in my guest room on Friday and Saturday. I’m a bit uncomfortable with that, but I don’t know any way to prevent that without tipping her off or explaining myself. That’s especially true with finals coming up.”

“You aren’t involved with her in any way, are you?”

“No. As I said, we dated some last school year, but we’ve just been friends for quite some time.”

“Hopefully Doctor Bauer can limit any blowback on this. A lot will depend on how low Callie is willing to go to try to save her own skin or drag others down with her.”

“I’m really sorry, Scott. I didn’t exercise good judgment and almost got caught badly.”

“You wouldn’t be the first leader who was destroyed by not being able to keep his dick in his pants. I hope you learned your lesson on that.”

I nodded, “It didn’t get that far, but I understand your meaning.”

“Good. Now, get to work.”

Before leaving the house that morning, I had skimmed the headline “India Gas Leak Kills 500” and had resolved to read the article, and if necessary, call Anala. I spent a full day at work, doing my best not to think about the cheating scandal, and then headed back into the city with Dave. After dinner, I picked up the newspaper and read the horrific story about the disaster at a Union Carbide plant in some place called Bhopal, India. A leak of a chemical called methyl isocyanate had already killed 500 and the death toll was rising. Thousands more, possibly hundreds of thousands more were expected to be sickened. It was, safe to say, a disaster of epic proportions. I took a moment to call Anala and ask her about it.

“That’s in Madhya Pradesh,” she said, “which touches Gujarat, so it’s close to my relatives. The phone lines are jammed, as I’m sure you can imagine, so my parents can’t get any information about their parents or my uncles or aunts.”

“I really don’t know what to say except I hope that there’s a full investigation and they find the cause.”

Anala sighed, “It’s unlikely given how things work in India. Union Carbide and the Indian government will blame each other, and argue about which of them caused this disaster, but neither will care about the truth; it will be about one assigning the blame for this fiasco to the other. The people will be ignored.”

“Now that sucks. Union Carbide should cooperate and if they are responsible they should pay compensation. Sadly, that rarely happens, at least not in any meaningful way. I believe in doing no harm, but if you do, then you need to do what you can to make it right.”

“Exactly,” she agreed.

“I miss talking to you, Anala. Would you come for dinner some night soon?”

“I’m actually free on Friday; Prajesh will be out of town.”

“Great! See you then!” I said.

Wednesday’s mail brought the formal request to testify at a hearing set for Tuesday, December 11th. Kara received her letter requesting a written statement and Bert received his letter requesting that he appear on the 11th as well. I knew that was going to be a rough week.

On Thursday evening Penny arrived at her usual time, but Sofia intercepted her for a chat. I had no idea what it was about and Penny simply giggled when I asked her about it. We made love as we usually did, then showered. We had some time left so we sat on the loveseat in my room and cuddled.

“Mom and Bart said that I could stay home when they go visit their friends on the 21st! Will you stay with me?”

“I have to take Sofia to the airport that afternoon, but I’ll come over after dinner. You’re sure that they won’t come home early?”

“I told you they never have. And I’m sure they would call me. It’ll be fine! I want to sleep with you all night!”

“Sleep?” I chuckled.

“Well, you know what I mean. After we fuck. Then we can sleep. Can you really do it five times?”

“Yes, Penny, I can do it at least five times!” I replied.

“Did you want to do that other thing with me? The one I asked about?” she said.

“Only if you want to.”

“No, I asked if you wanted to do it,” she said.

I chuckled, “Yes.”

“Good. Then you can teach me how to do it. If I don’t like it, I just won’t do it again. That’s what you taught me, isn’t it?”

“It is. How are things going otherwise?”

“Fine, I guess. We have our Christmas concert at school on the 20th. I’m singing in the girls’ choir.”

“Would you like me to come?” I asked.

Penny got a big smile on her face.

“Would you? I thought you had exams!”

“I think a couple of hours of music might be just what the doctor ordered. I’ll just arrange with Elyse to help me study for my accounting exam during the day.”

“Cool!” she grinned. “Now, if I could just show you off as my boyfriend, it would be perfect!”

“Ask your mom!” I teased.

“Adults!” she groused.

“Oh, we’re not so bad!” I grinned.

“YOU’RE not. My mom and Bart are a pain in the butt!”

“I think all parents are,” I said.

“You won’t be. I think you know exactly how to treat kids. You treated me great even before I decided I wanted to fuck!”

I laughed, “You aren’t my daughter. That makes all the difference in the world!” I said.

“True. Gross!” she laughed.

We cuddled for a bit and then I walked her to the door and watched her scamper home. The temperature was only around 10°F, and I got chilled just in the twenty seconds it took Penny to go from our door to hers. I grabbed a sweater from the closet in the front hall and went to the kitchen to make some tea, then went into the great room and lit the gas fireplace and sat in front of it.

“Cold?” Katy asked, moving to sit beside me.

“I stood on the front porch for about 20 seconds in a t-shirt and shorts. It’s damned cold out there! Want to warm me up?” I teased.

“Right here?” Katy giggled. “On the rug in front of the fireplace?”

“I’m game if you are!” I teased, knowing that she wouldn’t agree because of Kenneth.

She laughed, “You and I both know better. You like Kenneth, which puts me off limits, and I prefer a one-woman man. Not that your offer isn’t tempting,” she said, lightly running her finger down my arm.

I chuckled and put my arm around her and gave her a quick hug, then released her.

“How are things with Kenneth?” I asked.

“Good. Very good, in fact. He asked me to move in with him when I graduate,” she said.

“And?” I smirked.

“Maybe. I guess it depends on getting a job in Chicago. Of course, he does have something I really, really want!”

“Oh?” I grinned. “I have that!”

She giggled, “Well, that, but he also has two season tickets to the Chicago Bulls. Just two rows back from the court! The Bulls drafted Michael Jordan from North Carolina and he’s going to be the best player in the league very soon. Heck, Chicago might actually have a shot at the NBA Championship!”

“And the Celtics?” I asked.

“They have a great shot at the championship this year but I’ve been in Chicago for four years now. I’ll always be a Celtics and a Red Sox fan, but I’m getting used to the Bulls. Kind of like you and the Black Hawks.”

“Someday I’ll get season tickets for the ‘Hawks, though I might have to move to Pittsburgh to get my fill of Penguins hockey! Sadly, they need a few more players to play with Lemieux before they can contend.”

I finished my tea and got up and shut off the fireplace.

“I’m going to head to bed,” I said. “Want to join me?” I smirked.

“Yes, but no; you know better. See you in the morning,” she said, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek.

I headed up to bed and was quickly asleep.

Friday was a perfectly normal day both at school and at home, though more like it had been in the past, since Anala joined us for dinner. After dinner, she and I went to the ‘Indian’ room and she lit incense in front of Krishna, and then we sat down with some of her father’s excellent tea.

“How have you been?” she asked.

“Up to my eyeballs in the cheating scandal at IIT,” I said.

“You did not cheat! You certainly don’t need to.”

“No, of course I didn’t. But some friends of mine did and there’s a whole lot of crap hitting the fan. I’ll be fine, but it’s been somewhat distracting.”

“Otherwise everything is OK?” Anala asked.

“I think so,” I said, nodding my head slowly. “I’ll be heading to Ohio once school is done, and then Jennifer and Tatyana are visiting. Then I start my last semester at IIT. After graduation, both Bethany and my little sister will move in and I’ll start my new business. It’s going to be exciting to say the least.”

“Yes it will. How are you doing with your self-examination and your decisions for the future?”

“I think that’s also fine. It’s just figuring out which possible future is the right one from an interesting range of futures.”

Anala nodded, “Yes. That is the question for you. I think you’ll do just fine. I shall watch with great interest!”

“And you and Prajesh?” I asked.

“He is actively looking for a house. I would not be surprised if he finds what he’s looking for in the next few weeks. Once he buys it and moves in, we can think about moving forward.”

“I hope I’ll be invited to the wedding!” I grinned.

“Of course! You and all your housemates. It will be a fantastic party!”

We talked for a couple of hours before I took her home.

Saturday was another typical day - breakfast, programming with Penny, karate with Kara and Sofia, and then lunch with my housemates and Bert who had decided to stay in the guest room until Monday. Callie hadn’t left him any notes or messages since the first threatening one, and he figured it would be safe to go back to the dorms.

I went to find Wen who was in the study room. We went back to my office and began working on the review problems that we’d been assigned. We worked for a good three hours before we took a break to get some green tea.

“Now that our project is over, can I check out your Macintosh?” she asked quietly.

I smiled, “I think we can manage that. When are you going to Thailand?”

“On the 23rd. The timing doesn’t matter, really; we’re Buddhist and don’t celebrate Christmas.”

“Does your family practice religion?” I said.

“Not really. Buddhism isn’t like Christianity or Islam. It’s just sort of a guiding principle of life, a philosophy, at least compared to your Western ways.”

“When do you come back?” I asked.

“On the 12th. It’s only two days before class starts, but I wanted to have as much time at home as I can. I don’t think I’m going to try to do this next year. I’ll just go home next summer and then stay through the year.”

“They close the dorms during Christmas. If you want, you could probably use a guest room. Just let me know as far in advance as you can.”

“Thanks. Once I graduate, I’m going to move in with my brother, at least until I get married.”

“Cool,” I replied. “Shall we go check out the Macintosh?”

She smiled and we went into the office. I shut the door behind us and sat in my chair. Wen sat in my lap as she usually did and started messing with the mouse while I gently squeezed her small breasts, ran my thumbs over her nipples and softly kissed her neck. After a couple of minutes, she let go of the mouse, and turned so that I could kiss her. Our tongues tangled and she threw her arms around my neck. After about two minutes, she broke the kiss, got off my lap, straightened her sweater and went to the door.

“I’m looking forward to it,” she whispered.

“Me too,” I said.

She left the office and I went to work on my summary paper for my world religions class. I finished it just before it was time to make dinner. After dinner, I chose to relax in the sauna, then sit quietly and read The Hunt for RED OCTOBER while others did their own thing. About 10:00pm, Sofia came to sit with me.

“Is everything OK?” she asked.

“I just needed some quiet time. I’m ready for bed whenever you are.”

“We can go up now,” Sofia said.

I was tense on Monday, and everyone noticed - the girls who lived with me, my professors, and my friends. Even a sauna and a wonderful massage in the evening from Elyse couldn’t relieve the tension. I had managed to avoid any run-ins with Callie, though Bert had one confrontation that resulted in her screaming at him as he quickly walked away from her.

Scott had given me the day off on December 11th so that I could attend the hearing as summoned.

Bert and I arrived at the hearing room at 9:00am, along with a few other students. Scott was there, along with Doctor Bauer, though they were not on the committee that was chaired by Dean Stauffer. I was pleased to see that of the six members besides Dean Stauffer, I knew four of the professors and the student representative. The only professor I didn’t know was from the Architecture Department. The Chancellor and the Provost were there, as well as an independent attorney who advised the committee.

We all sat in the room while the meeting was called to order and the process was explained. Once that was complete, everyone was asked to wait outside and we’d be called in one-by-one to answer questions. I was called first.

“Mr. Adams, this isn’t a legal hearing, and we do not ask you to swear, though we remind you that if you are untruthful in any of your responses, you could be referred to the disciplinary committee. At this time, there are no proceedings or complaints against you. Again, this isn’t a legal hearing, but you are entitled to have legal advice if you think you need it. Do you have any questions? Or do you wish to have someone to advise you?”

“No. I do not have questions and I don’t believe I need legal advice,” I said. “I’ll answer any questions you pose to the best of my ability.”

“Would you please explain your relationship with Miss Callie Shepherd?” Doctor Stauffer said.

I reiterated what I’d told him and Doctor Bauer the previous week and pulled no punches in explaining my errors. There were a few questions from the members of the committee, which I answered as best I could. Of course, there were several about what I would characterize as the attempted seduction.

“And you were fully aware of the accusation against Miss Shepherd when you danced with her and kissed her?”

“I was aware that she had named me as a character witness, yes. I made a grave error in how I acted around her. I will point out that Doctor Bauer is aware of the situation. I called him on Sunday morning to tell him what had happened and then met with him and handed him a written statement which I believe he provided to the committee.”

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 5 An Apology

June 22, 1992, Iron Mountain, Michigan I stopped, straightened and looked at Jodie. I almost said ‘Seriously?’ but realized that would be the absolute wrong thing to say. In fact, saying NOTHING at the moment was the right thing. I took two steps to her and pulled her wet body into my arms. I kissed her softly and hugged her. “I thought you realized,” she whispered in my ear. “Uh, nothing I say right now is going to sound right,” I stammered. “Why? It’s OK. It was wonderful and I’m glad...

May 29, 1993, St. Martin, Leeward Islands, Lesser Antilles Ellie and I swam far enough down the beach that while it would be obvious what we were doing, it wouldn’t be in plain sight. We had a fun, energetic screw with small waves breaking over us, and then swam back to where the other girls were waiting. “Have fun?” Samantha teased. “You should try it!” Ellie giggled. “I can’t swim that far!” “You could WALK down the beach, for heaven’s sake,” Justine laughed. “So, Justine,” Mary said...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 40 Carolines Confessions

January 9, 1993, Chicago, Illinois “Uncle Steve, are you staying?” Nicholas asked. “Yes,” I said. “Your mom invited me to stay tonight.” “Will you tuck me in?” I glanced over to Bethany who nodded. “Of course!” I said, getting up. He kissed and hugged his mom, then I took him to his room, and helped him into bed. At his request I read Ten Apples Up On Top to him. When I finished the book, I kissed his forehead, turned off the light, and then went back to the living room. I sat down on...

April 23, 1993, Chicago, Illinois “I’ll do it,” I said to Samantha on Friday morning before I left to run with Gina. “Thank you!” she said excitedly. “And the special request?” “Yes,” I said with a smile. “Cool!” She gave me a soft kiss and a tight hug. “But no promises other than the special request in the invitation.” “I know. Totally clear! I talked with Kara to make sure I wasn’t crossing any lines. I’m surprised to see you up at your regular time this morning!” I laughed, “Kara...

May 15, 1993, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania “That was very weird,” Tara said as we got into the shower on Wednesday morning. “Never done that before, I take it?” I asked. “No. And I doubt I’ll ever do it again. And we barely got any sleep!” We both laughed at the repeated conversation sequence from the previous time. “There was a lot less talking this time,” I chuckled. “Sorry, but you looked like you needed it. A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 24 Bethany

October 1, 1992, San Francisco, California “We need some ground rules,” I said. “Oh no you don’t!” Bethany growled. “You are NOT talking me to death. Fucking me to death, yes! Talking me to death, no!” “I’m serious. Sit, please.” Bethany reluctantly moved to the loveseat in the sitting room of our suite at the Mark Hopkins InterContinental Hotel on Nob Hill in San Francisco. We’d checked in less than ten minutes earlier after an uneventful, but twenty-minute-delayed flight from...

August 31, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “Good evening, Mr. Spurgeon,” I said when Les led me to Noel Spurgeon’s study. It was late on Monday evening because I’d gone to karate practice before driving up to Glencoe. Samantha had arranged for me to talk with her dad, and then talk with her parents together. “Good evening, Steve. I suppose at this point, you should call me Noel.” “Thanks. January 2, 1993, Chicago, Illinois “Good morning, sleepyhead!” I said to Ellie when she finally woke. I’d been awake for well over an hour, but hadn’t wanted to wake Ellie, nor did I want her to feel abandoned. Samantha had woken a few minutes after me, and we’d kissed a few times before simply snuggling to wait for Ellie to wake up. “Last night was the best night of my life,” Ellie sighed. “We could do it again before we shower together,” I offered. “Oh God, would you?...

May 15, 1992, Glencoe, Illinois “Join me in my study, if you would,” Noel Spurgeon said when we finished our dessert. It had been an interesting evening. Samantha and I had talked for a bit before we’d been summoned to dinner. The meal had been prepared by a chef and was served by a white-coated young man. November 1, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “What did you two decide about Jesse?” I asked Jennifer on Sunday, just before the Rap Session started. We’d just come back from helping Bethany and Nicholas move into their new place. Jesse wasn’t happy, but he’d known this was coming from the time that Bethany and Nicholas had first moved back to Chicago. He’d helped Nicholas set up his new room while the rest of us had brought in furniture and other things that Bethany had stored after Nick’s death....

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 36 Christmas Greetings

December 19, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “I was surprised when you knocked on my door last night,” Samantha said on Saturday morning. “Jessica insisted.” “Your wife, whom you took to a party, while wearing that amazing tux, sent you to my bed? I almost don’t believe it!” “Yes, she did. Because it was Friday.” “But all we did was cuddle and sleep in each other’s arms.” “You snuggled close and fell back asleep,” I chuckled. “And that’s fine.” “You could have woken me up!” she...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 29 Friend Dad Lover

October 25, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “Oh my God!” Kara gasped. “You can NEVER tell Bethany!” “Relax, Kara,” I said. “I have no intention of doing so. In fact, I purposefully misled Bethany about what happened between Caroline and me. She has no idea that we were together in the NIKA apartment. And, there’s a VERY important difference between Caroline and Nick, and Stephanie and me. They looked into the abyss and turned back. Stephanie and I didn’t.” “So they never...” Jessica asked. “No....

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 10 Double Secret Probation

July 11, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “Tell the story,” Jessica ordered when I sat down in the ‘Indian’ room with a fresh pot of tea. “Maybe we should hear about last night, first,” Kara said. “All that happened last night was Samantha and I talked until just after midnight. Well, I talked to her dad for about thirty minutes before dinner, too. And nothing happened other than me holding her hand a bit and two very brief hugs. Not even a goodnight kiss. That conversation generated the visit from...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 35 That Was Fast

December 11, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “I can’t believe that Diana and Charles are splitting up!” Samantha said at dinner on Friday. “I can’t believe she married him in the first place!” Elyse laughed. “What a toad! Not to mention a total loser!” “He’s the Crown Prince,” Jessica replied. “Which does NOT contradict what Elyse said,” I laughed. “Royalty aren’t exactly known for being super intelligent! He’s more like the ‘Clown Prince’! The best thing that could happen for England would be...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 13 The Undiscovered Country

August 1, 1992, Chicago, Illinois Just after 3:00pm, Alli and I were standing on the front porch, saying goodbye. “Not bad, for an old guy,” she smirked. “Old? I’m only twenty-nine!” “And I’m only nineteen! Ten years is a lot!” “My dad is twenty years older than my mom! And if you thought I was ‘old’, why do it?” “Because Jacqui was right. That was the best fuck I’ve ever had, bar none!” “The first one or the second one?” I teased. She laughed, “Combined! I’ll be back next summer. If...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 2 A ColdHearted Bastard

June 19, 1992, Iron Mountain, Michigan “I’ll go to the grocery store,” I said after we unpacked. “I’ll come along,” Kara offered. “If it’s OK with Jessica and Elyse.” “Go!” Jessica said. “I just had some time with him on the drive up.” “Sure,” Elyse said. “We’ll get the kids outside to play. They’ve been cooped up in the cars all morning.” I kissed and hugged both Jessica and Elyse, and Kara and I got into my BMW for the drive to the small grocery store. “How are you?” Kara asked as we...

The Journal of Samuel Samantha Waterman

Journal of Samuel (Samantha) Waterman January 1; I'm thirteen and thought I would start this journal. I ain't much at writing but I'll give it a try. I think it will be cool. I know boys don't keep a diary so I'm calling it a journal besides it sounds more grown up than a sissy diary. And this way when I tell my grandchildren my tales of youth, like grandpa does, I can say, "see its right here in my journal." Not much happened today, no school. So I thought I'd start this journal,...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 42 Demonstrations of Power

February 5, 1993, Chicago, Illinois Jamie called on Friday morning to let me know that the CPD had obtained a search warrant for Hart-Lincoln as we’d discussed with the FBI, and intended to serve it as soon as Greg was available. I told him I’d call Greg, then call him back with a time. Three hours later, Jamie, Greg, Zeke, and I were in a conference room at the Federal Building with Agents O’Toole and Stone, Detectives Boltz and Monroe, as well as three other FBI Agents, an Assistant US...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 7 SakurakoChapter 57 Land of the Rising Sun Part III

June 23, 1994, Oguni, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan My first week in Japan flew by, and a routine developed. Sakurako would wake me; I’d exercise and run, then shower and have breakfast, and share tea with Sakurako. After breakfast, I’d meditate, and then have my training session. After lunch, I’d work in the garden, or, as I had this day, wash the floors in the house. Hiroshi would accompany me back to the cottage and we’d talk while I washed up and dressed for dinner. After dinner, I’d spend...

Batwoman meets Catwoman Part Two

Holly crept up behind Kate with instinctive ease, then like some guard dog she bit on Kate's cunt then chewed playfully on her flesh through her latex while her hands shot forward, and grabbed Kate's tits. She let out a deep, long moan that resonated through the latex into Kate's cunt as latex covered flesh muffled it. She couldn't resist Kate's succulent position one moment, and she wanted some of that sweet pussy so badly! "Ahhhhhhhhhhh...., uuuhhhhh....,...

March 16, 1993, Chicago, Illinois “Jess, we need to talk to you,” I said through the door of the guest room. “I thought I was supposed to think about everything,” she protested, weakly. “I had a revelation and I think it’s important to talk right now. Please. Just hear me out and then you can send us away if you want.” I heard movement, and then the door opened. Jessica was wearing her matching robe, and went to sit on the bed. I sat in the chair; Kara sat on the edge of the bed, but away...

May 28, 1993, St. Martin, Leeward Islands, Lesser Antilles “I’m not sure this is such a good idea,” I said to Samantha as we cleaned up after dinner. “Why?” she asked. “The scope of dares is pretty limited. I mean, what are you going to dare each other to do?” “Things with you, I guess.” “Exactly. And that bothers me more than I thought it would.” “You don’t want to play?” “I’m just wondering how quickly it would escalate. And what might happen.” Samantha smirked, “Oh, I’m sure you...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 6 More Apologies

June 28, 1992, Chicago, Illinois I had no idea what to say in response to Noel’s offer of an apology. I had no information as to what was said by who to whom, or what specifically he was apologizing for. Perhaps it had been a mistake to tell Keri not to let me know about any calls from Lisa Glass and tell Jeri not to talk to me about it before Monday. The best I could do would be to simply acknowledge him and see what he had to say. “I’m listening. Go on.” “It appears that the person who...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 41 Working Arrangements

January 23, 1993, Chicago, Illinois “She’s doing OK?” Jessica asked when I went back to the great room after talking to Caroline. “Yes. She’s taking her class and slowly getting on with her life. To make a long story short, her two visits here kind of unlocked things, and she told me she finally told her counselor everything, which I think was the real key to all of this.” “Good! Your little friends were looking for you!” I shook my head, “Samantha is a troublemaker just like Kara and...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 8 The Whole Disgusting Story

July 10, 1992, Glencoe, Illinois I gasped and sat stunned, unable to move or even think clearly. It wasn’t my syncope; it was simply Samantha verbalizing a thought that had been bouncing around in my head. I took a deep breath, and my head began to clear. If what she had said was the truth, I would have to take decisive action. Action that would also have to be explained. She was right. It WAS that explosive. I took a few more breaths and felt my brain was working right again, at least to...

April 14, 1993, Chicago, Illinois “What the hell?” I asked to nobody in particular. “Ma’am,” a police officer said to Valerie, “we’re going to need to search the rest of the house. The warrant gives us permission to do that.” Valerie nodded. “We’ll also need to interview each of you. Detectives will be here shortly. Please just stay where you are.” “Officer,” I said. “May I ask why Mr. Spurgeon was arrested?” “Production and possession of child pornography. I suspect there will also be...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 74 A Virtuoso Performance

December 5, 2000, Rochester, Minnesota “Go inside and shut the door,” Naomi said. “What?” She rolled her eyes, “Seriously?” I chuckled, realizing what she meant, so I stuck the keycard into the slot in the lock and when the LED flashed green, I went inside and shut the door. A few seconds later there was a firm knock and I opened it to let Naomi into the room. We took off our shoes, coats, hats, and gloves, then moved into the sitting room. “You like to live in style,” she said, her eyes...

March 15, 1993, Chicago, Illinois “I owe you an apology,” I said to Samantha when she arrived home. “For?” “For going out last night without letting anyone know where I was going. I broke a house rule, and I’m sorry.” Samantha smiled, “You don’t owe me an explanation!” “Actually, I do. The rules apply to everyone, including me. How can I ask the kids to follow them if I don’t? It’s a matter of respect; of respecting them as I expect them to respect me.” “Most adults aren’t like...

I can’t think of anything else.” “I’ll see you in five weeks,” Elyse said, giving me a quick hug. “Did you see they rioted in Vancouver last night because they lost the Stanley Cup?” I chuckled, “Only Canadians would riot when they LOSE the Cup! A WellLived Life 2 Book 6 SamanthaChapter 64 St Martin Part IV

May 31, 1993, St. Martin, Leeward Islands, Lesser Antilles Ellie yawned and stretched about thirty minutes after I had woken up. I’d simply stayed spooned with her, with my arm around her. The eight girls and I had stayed out until nearly 2:00am dancing at a club in Philipsburg on the Dutch side of the island. I’d danced with all of them, except for Maria who spent most of the evening dancing with two Dutch kids and hadn’t come home with us. The rest of us had a great time together, and I...

You strike me as the kind of girl who wants us to take our time and savor each step not just have me rip her clothes off and jam it in.” “If you agree to keep our deal, then I’m yours in any way you wish. October 15, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “Father, bless!” I said, cupping my hands to receive a blessing. “Bless you, Stephen!” Father Basil said making the sign of the cross over my upturned hands. I kissed his hand and we sat down at the diner in Bridgeport. “How are things?” he asked. “Good, I suppose. I mean, we could be in Cairo right now. I mean, obviously they aren’t, but the graphics work was amazing!” “And the plot?” “Hokey, but entertaining. I think you’ll like it.” “Too scary for the boys?” “I think Jesse would be fine, and probably Matthew. June 8, 1991, Chicago, Illinois “Pipe tobacco and bourbon?” Jessica asked, sniffing, as I climbed into bed. “Sorry. Want me to shower?” “Yes, please,” she said. I got up and went into the bathroom and quickly showered, making sure to wash my hair really well. I scrubbed my face and upper body thoroughly with Irish Spring, then rinsed off. I’d brushed my teeth before getting into bed, but did so again, and this time gargled with Listerine. I rinsed and went back to bed. “Better?” I...

She’s a ‘dalliance’ and I don’t think she’s someone you should be with long-term.” “I agree,” I said. “I’d thought she’d have a boyfriend over the summer, but maybe they really are all losers. A WellLived Life Book 6 Kara IChapter 5 Housemates

August 1981, Chicago, Illinois On Sunday morning, I made my usual call to Karin. I described everything in the apartment and all the things I’d done during the week, including the reception. Both of us would start school in a week and we were both looking forward to it. When we finished talking, I went out for my run, showered, and ate breakfast. I made some tea, started a load of laundry, and then turned on the stereo. I put on an REO Speedwagon album and then relaxed on the couch with the...

August 21, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “Unbelievable,” I said when I read the headline from the Chicago Tribune. “It says here that Solidarity activist Tadeusz Mazowiecki was nominated to be Prime Minister of Poland.” I hadn’t had a chance to read the paper on Sunday because it hadn’t been delivered before we left for the race track in Michigan. “So now what?” Kara asked. “We’re in totally uncharted territory. Your guess is as good as anyone’s right about now.” “Steve, do you have a minute?”...

A Shy Guys Notebook Part Two Following the Books Commands

James sat upright on his bed, with his legs crossed and hishands holding his head up. He just stared at the small, red notebook that lay in front of him, this mysterious gift that was granted to him. His own name was engraved on the front. It was almost like it was glowing, beckoning him to open it, to control reality even more. His mind was racing, full of thoughts of Amy, Kirsty and the words written inside the book: ‘Kirsty is going to change her mind and ask me to come over to work on the...
