Candice quickly flipped the no-nonsense phone open only to hear the distinctly succinct voice of that same woman.

The line went dead. The alarm clock sounded.
For a second, a shocked Candice had to query whether she had just still been dreaming… no she was still holding her phone, the overly girly, bright pink flip-phone. For a second she grimaced at the handset, not entirely sure why she had ever chosen the model that was so unlike her usual professional nature before dropping it to her nightstand and sliding out of bed.
Walking to her en suite bathroom, the lawyer passed one of the full length mirrors of her wardrobe and did a quick self-assessment.
Her 5’6’’ frame was still about as lithe as it had been in school. Age had not yet cursed her with any real sag yet to her chest, but then she was lucky to only have B cups in that regard. Perhaps she had gained a little weight to her midsection, but hitting the gm again would fix that.
Her eyes were still the same intelligent hazel, even if she now had to cover them with glasses for reading and her practical bob kept her dark brown hair in order, though perhaps it needed cutting again soon.
As satisfied as she ever was, Candice made her way to the bathroom, sighing slightly at the thought of another Monday.
