Anna looked down at the little girl who was in the chair
next to her. She was not paying attention to Anna, but that
was ok. The little girl was simply kicking her feat, back
and forth, because they were too short to reach the ground.
She was wearing a white shirt with a red trimmed, button-up
collar, and red sleeves, as well and brown shorts that came
down to her knees and red sneakers. Under her shoulder
length blonde hair, two bright brown eyes show, and a
slight frown on her face.
Anna thought about how much the little girl looked like
her. Though she was much taller, and wearing a plane orange
dress with a white button-up blouse, she had the same
shoulder length blonde hair and bright brown eyes
Anna felt sorry for her, the girl had nothing to do, but
suddenly, a voice came over the loud speaker.
"Flight 232 from Boston to Orlando, now boarding rows 31-
21."
"That's us." Anna said simply, looking at the tickets she
held and the little girl grasped her hand and followed.
The line to board was not that long, and by the look of it,
it would not be a crowded flight. Less people to notice.
When she got up to the desk, the Woman checking the tickets
looked at the girl next to Anna and said, "Your daughter is
so cute, she looks just like you." "Thank you" was all Anna
could say, and the little girl broke into a big, and
slightly fake, smile.
"Ok, lets see, one adult ticket for Anna Hart," Anna
nodded, while she continued, "and one Children's ticket for
Christine Hart." The little girl raised her hand and gave a
slight wave.
"All right then, you may both board, please make sure you
have all your bags and have a nice flight."
The Christine had no bags and the only one Anna had was a
shoulder bag filled with Hygiene items, a few articles of
clothing and jewelry, and a romance novel, so they moved
forward. The captain greeted them as they boarded and as
they got on Anna had to duck. She had flown a few times,
but the plane had never seemed this small. Christine looked
up at Anna, who was hunched over ever so slightly and gave
her a big grin.
"Move on back." Anna said, slightly exasperated, she knew
what she was smiling about.
They found their seats with no trouble, and they strapped
in for take off. Anna was right; there weren't that many
passengers. Only about 39 in a 100 passenger plane. That
was good. Christine had begun to look at the plane safety
pamphlet, though she looked like she was straining herself
slightly in order to read it.
"Why don't you look out the window instead?" Anna
suggested. Christine, comprehending, quickly put back the
pamphlet and looked out the window, but there was not much
to see, as they were still on the ground. Fortunately, the
plane began to move soon, but during the take off, there
was a slight scene. Christine had not tightened her safety
belt too well and she bounced around slightly, and let out
a small cry of surprise. The passengers across the aisle
looked over for a second, but Anna quickly moved between
them and helped tighten the seat belt.
Only one more problem arose during the flight. When the
stewardess came around to serve drinks, she asked Christine
what she wanted. "Gin?ger ale please," she squeaked,
quickly recovering and putting on another smile. The
stewardess did not notice and handed her a glass of Ginger
ale and a bag of Goldfish crackers. Anna ordered a orange
juice and a small bottle of vodka and smiled triumphantly
to Christine as she poured in the vodka and drank it.
Christine simply scowled and folded her arms.
Soon after, the stewardess came by again.
"Your daughter is so well behaved." She said, and Anna
smiled, though she began to think, 'Please go away.'
"Here," The stewardess continued, holding out to Christine
a red haired rag doll with black button eyes, a red felt
smile and blue and white checkered dress. "Some girl on the
last flight left it, and we found it just after take off,
so you can borrow it for now, but I will need it back after
the flight, because we want to find the owner."
Christine gave a weak smile and took the doll, while Anna
thanked the stewardess.
Christine turned to look forward and there was a face
peering at her over the back of the seat in front of hers.
A young boy with buzzed hair and blue eyes was watching,
and that made Christine nervous till he stuck out his
tongue and made the noise of blowing a raspberry. Christine
was slightly taken aback by this, but she quickly pulled
the lower lid of her left eye and stuck out her own tongue.
"Christine" Anna said softly. The boy ducked back behind
his seat and Christine went back to holding the doll.
Not much happened the rest of the trip, Anna noted, as she
continued reading her romance novel. Christine had fallen
asleep while clutching the doll. Soon after, they landed in
Orlando, with a bump and they made their way to the front
of the plane, where Christine handed the doll back to the
Stewardess and thanked her with a smile much bigger than
the one she had on when given the doll.
Anna thought of this as they made their way to the line for
the rental car, but after they had picked up their luggage,
and asked the girl, "Pretty attached to that doll huh?" The
girl went red in the face and said "Lets talk about that
when we are alone."
Though getting the Rental car did not take that long, Anna
did not press the subject. They simply sat in silence as
they made their way to the Holiday Inn they were staying
at. Because Anna had bought the entire package online, the
room was ready immediately for them and they quickly moved
up to their room.
"See, I told you nobody would notice" Anna said to the girl
who was now sitting on the bed. She was watching Anna
unpack, but she replied quickly. "Yeah, but we came close.
Anyway, mind giving me the medallion so I can change back?"
"Why? We are going to Disney World tomorrow aren't we?"
Anna began.
"Yeah, but?" The girl began, but Anna was quicker. "And it
would mean another discount on the ticket.
"I know, but?" The girl started again, but was interrupted,
"And you might not be able to change back before we go out
again."
"Ok!" The girl said exasperated. "If you would prefer your
8-year-old self to your husband, fine! I only wanted to
take a swim."
"Oh dear, I am sorry. But why not stay that way for awhile,
I got you a bathing suit."
The girl raised her eyebrow at this, as Anna held up a
yellow 2-piece Bathing suit.
"Anyway, I will go with you. You don't have to worry about
pedophiles or people finding out your secret"
A sarcastic "Ha ha" was all Chris could manage.
Anna and Chris left the room with their bating suits folded
into their towels. Down the elevator and through a series
of twisting hall, and they were outside the women's
changing rooms. As they stepped in, Anna noticed that there
were to women changing into their bating suits, and a few
others wearing only lingerie. Anna instinctively cupped her
hand over Chris's eyes and Chris immediately responded.
"Hey!" was all that was said and every woman in the place
was looking that them. "Mom, don't do that!" Chris said,
staring up at Anna with a mischievous grin.
Anna frowned, she did not think about this, trying to
prevent him from seeing would be suspicious, so she simply
went and found the most isolated part of the changing room,
where only one other woman, who looked ready to leave, was
and that's where she decided to have them change. Indeed,
the woman changed quickly and left for the pool area.
Chris was already in his bathing suit while Anna was
putting on the top of her blue Bikini when he decided to
make trouble. "So this is where I came from MOMMY?" Chris
said in a slightly singsong voice as she rubbed her head
against Anna's bare thigh. "You little scamp!" Anna said a
bit warningly as she finished putting on her top. Anna
quickly finished dressing, because if Chris did something
like that, and somebody saw, things could get sticky.
Anna moved over to the shower area, and they quickly got
wet in order to comply with the sign leading to the pool.
The pool itself had a small section roped for children, and
diving boards and water slide in the section for older
patrons, and a sauna and a hot tub rounded out what else
was in the area. The spa had a sign over it that said, "No
Children under 12 allowed in spa" as did the sauna. Chris
was unhappy at this, because sitting in those were his two
favorite activities at the pool area, but Anna had on an
evil smile, "Payback" she thought.
Anna sat in the spa the whole time, while Chris had to
amuse himself with the water slide because there was a
height requirement for the diving board as well. But it was
fun enough to distract him, so it was not all bad. There
was a gym as well, which could be seen in a window at the
far end, and Chris wished he could go in and do some
lifting, but of course, it would look odd and his body was
too young. Anyway, swimming had worn him out in the hour-
and-a-half that they were there, and Anna led the way back
to the room, while Chris held her hand.
After giving Chris a bath, where he squirmed less than
expected, Anna took a long cold shower. It felt good after
being in that hot tub for so long. She went out and Chris
was lying on the bed in a pink frill nighty that Anna had
brought. Anna quickly changed herself and lay next to her
husband. He had been watching "Law & Order" but not really
paying attention. Chris turned to Anna and said "On the way
back, I get to be the adult." Anna laughed and said, "But
so many good things happened to you, you never appreciate
anything do you?'
"Ha ha" Chris said again in a sarcastic tone. "Sorry, but
flying without Alcohol is not a fun experience." Chris said
as his little female hand turned off the light on his side
of the bed. Anna followed suit, and soon they were both
asleep.
