Altered Fates - The Book Dealer by KathyB Paul Mortonson was from Palo Alto. He was born there. He was raised there. He went to school there, college too. He met a girl from there, got married there and settled there. He even worked there. Paul owned and operated a small, independent book store. His specialty, and his passion, was rare and collectable books. Palo Alto, for those who do not know, is a community of some 60,000 people. It sits in the northwest corner of Santa Clara County, California, some 30 miles south of San Francisco, on the west side of San Francisco Bay. Palo Alto is famous for playing a major part of the creation of Silicon Valley, that area of Northern California that gave birth to the microprocessor and the subsequent computer revolution. Palo Alto is also home to Stanford University, formally titled The Leland Stanford Junior University, having been named to honor Leland Stanford Junior, son of Leland Stanford Senior, one of California's "Big Four". If the reader desires further information regarding the "Big Four" or other matters of California history, geography or demographics, go to Wikipedia.com. Paul ran his store in partnership with his wife, Peggy. They were both graduates of Stanford University, where they met. Paul's parents had opened the store in the mid-sixties. Paul and Peggy both worked at the store while going to school and started as the next generation of management when they were married, shortly after they graduated. Sadly, Paul's father passed away three years ago, the victim of a pancreatic cancer. Paul's mother still lived in the same house Paul grew up in but she suffered from advanced arthritis and walked only with difficulty. She took no active part in operating the store but still drew a salary from the store as a corporate director. Paul and Peggy had two small children, both girls, Abby, age four, and Allison who had just celebrated her second birthday. Paul and Peggy had a playroom in the back of the store where Peggy kept the kids occupied with toys and playthings when she was watching the shop, which she did with semi-regularity when Paul needed to be somewhere else. On this particular afternoon, while Peggy minded the store, Paul drove up the peninsula to San Francisco. He was in search of a specific book for which he had a buyer. The community of rare and collectable book dealers in the Bay Area is rather small. They all know each other and, while each dealer has a client list that he or she keeps as a closely guarded secret, they work together quite well when trying to locate a specific title or edition. Paul had located the particular title in question at a store in the North Beach area of San Francisco. If it were in the condition that the proprietor had said it was, he was prepared to pay the proprietor's asking price. Parking in San Francisco is often an adventure in its own right. Paul drove around North Beach for about 15 minutes before he found a parking space some four blocks from the store he intended to visit. He locked his car and began walking up Columbus Avenue toward his destination when he noticed something reflecting a beam of sunlight from the sidewalk ahead. Curious, he approached the object which turned out to be a necklace of some sort, rather tarnished, with what he took to be the image of an angel embossed on it. It appeared to be of minor value but thought it might be a plaything for one of his daughters if properly polished first. He picked it up, put it in his jacket pocket and continued on toward the book store. His trip into San Francisco was well rewarded. The book he came to see was exactly what it was said to be and its condition was excellent. Paul paid the proprietor his asking price, knowing that his customer would pay significantly more. The proprietor wrapped the book in heavy paper to protect it. Paul returned to his car and headed back in his store in Palo Alto. By the time he arrived back at his store, the business day was almost over. There being no customers in the store, and Paul being excited about his latest profitable transaction, he suggested to Peggy that they close the store and take the kids out for pizza. Paul made one quick call to his client who was pleased that Paul had managed to locate the book the client had sought. The client agreed to come in on Monday and complete the purchase. Paul locked the book up in the shop safe, then bundled Allison up as Peggy gathered up the kids' toys. When all were safely fastened into Peggy's mini-van, Paul locked the shop, set the alarm, and, in his car, followed Peggy to the Red Horse Pizza Parlor. The red horse was so named because of the mechanical horse in the kids' play area in the rear of the eating area. The owner of the Parlor, Phil Shoto, was a collector of carousel horses, several of which decorated the parlor. The mechanical horse, which dated from the 1940's, was in bad shape when acquired by Mr. Shoto who lovingly restored it so that another generation of kids could enjoy the ride. A one minute ride cost all of 5 cents. It was always on Abby's short list of fun things to do which is why Paul and Peggy loved this place. That and Mr. Shoto made a fantastic Hawaiian pizza. After the kids had their play time, and as much pizza as they could stand, Paul and Peggy stopped off at the local Blockbuster and rented two movies for the evening. The first was for family viewing, a Disney cartoon medley; the second was a three hankie chick flick that Peggy had wanted to see in the theaters. Paul dragged his feet long enough for the show to close without their having seen it, which was just fine with Paul. By 8:30, the two kids had taken a bath, seen their cartoons and were asleep in bed. Paul and Peggy had retired to their bedroom where, having changed into their pajamas, Paul cued up their movie. It was then that he remembered, for no particular reason, the necklace he had found earlier on the street in San Francisco. It was still in his jacket pocket. Retrieving it from the coat closet, he began to examine it. Peggy asked what he had. He explained how he found it in the street and thought that the girls might like to use it to play "dress up". Peggy said that it looked rather cheesy, then added that kids like that sort of thing. It did need to be cleaned up a bit, though. For no special reason, Paul put the necklace around his neck. It looked no better on him than it had in his hand. He climbed into bed, punched the button on the DVD remote, then leisurely leaned over to deliver a kiss to Peggy. As they toughed lips, both felt an electric spark that moved from their lips to their stomachs, then spread across their bodies as it diminished. "What was that?" asked Peggy. "I don't know," replied Paul, failing to associate the spark with the necklace. Almost immediately, both Paul and Peggy sensed that something wasn't normal. Paul was slowly shrinking and losing weight as he went. Paul's hair was growing and his beard was receding. His hair color, normally a reddish brown, was lightening noticeably. Paul's hips were widening and his chest was expanding. And his voice seemed to grow progressively higher pitched as the changes progressed. He noticed that his features were softening and becoming almost feminine. Then it struck him like a bolt of lightning; he was becoming Peggy. Peggy was changing as well. In an exact opposite counterpoint to Paul's feminization, Peggy was growing, her hips and chest were becoming less pronounced, her hair was receding and darkening. She was developing a beard and her voice deepened just as Paul's raised. She was becoming him as he was becoming her. Somehow, they were trading bodies! Paul was as much mystified as terrified. He spoke not a word. Peggy stared in abject horror at her changing body but likewise uttered not a peep. She was afraid that she might wake the children. As their transformations continued, Paul and Peggy removed their clothing so as to better view their changes. Paul's testicles and penis shrank and withdrew into his crotch leaving only the tell tale gash of a vagina. His breasts grew into pair that were an unmistakable copy of Peggy's. Or rather, what used to be Peggy's. Peggy, meanwhile, was becoming unarguably male as her vaginal lips inflated into testicles and her clitoris grew into a full penis. An erect penis, it should be noted. Her breasts deflated and grew a coating of dark black hair. When the transformations were finished, they were each other. They each stared at themselves and each other, uncertain how they had gotten that or why. At a loss for words, each embraced the other and clung in that embrace for what seemed like forever. "What's happened to us?" asked Peggy. "I really don't know," replied Paul in an unfamiliarly high soprano tone. "Maybe it had something to do with the necklace. All the changes started when we kissed while I was wearing it. Maybe if we kiss again, we'll turn back into ourselves. It's worth a try." Paul leaned over and kissed Peggy again. Nothing happened except Paul's newly formed breasts flopped across Peggy's hairy chest, initiating a sensation in Paul's now empty crotch that he had never felt before. Without thinking, Paul laid another kiss on Peggy, this one deep and passionate. Then he reached for her erect penis and aimed it toward his now well lubricated crotch. He wasn't sure why he wanted this or how it would all work. He just did what seemed to come naturally. Peggy, for her part, mounted Paul with ease; again, it just came naturally. Before long, the two were going at it as hot and heavy as they ever did when their roles were reversed. Paul spread his legs wide and actively twisted his hips so as to stimulate Peggy to thrust more deeply and with more vigor. Peggy sucked Paul's breasts as she thrust her newly formed penis in and out of Paul's welcoming and well lubricated vagina. The two continued like this for what seemed to be an eternity. Paul was seeing stars and fireworks when Peggy finally exploded, filling Paul's empty chasm of a crotch with milky white fluid. As Peggy slowed her thrusting, Paul experienced a series of orgasms, each seemingly better than the one that preceded it. In the end, the two collapsed onto each other in complete exhaustion. In the darkness, Peggy whispered to Paul, "Was it good for you?" Paul just smiled. The two lay entwined, basking in afterglow, when a whimper wafted down the hall from Allison's room. Allison was a fitful sleeper. She regularly woke up in the middle of an otherwise quiet night and announced her presence with a request for parental companionship. Peggy was usually the designated deliverer of reassurance. As she instinctively responded to her daughter's cries, it occurred to her that she was no longer a she. Paul would occasionally respond to Allison's need to be attended to, but Allison really favored her mother. At the moment, however, Paul was the mother, at least from all outward appearances. Peggy prodded Paul and asked him, as de facto mother, to look in on Allison. "A woman's work is never done," she reminded him. "Be thankful she's past the breast feeding stage." "Thanks, I'll remember that," he responded in his soprano voice. Paul rolled out of the bed. Realizing that he was all but totally naked, he reflexively reached for his bathrobe, then stopped. It wasn't his bathrobe any more. He walked across the room to Peggy's closet and grabbed her robe instead. As he walked, he noticed that something warm and milky was oozing down his leg. It didn't take him long to realize what it was. He made a quick side trip to the bathroom where he used a wash cloth to rinse his crotch and legs. He hoped he'd gotten it all. He then donned the robe and walked down the hall to Allison's room. He picked her up and cradled her in his arms, rocking her while telling her that her parents loved her and would never allow anything or anyone to hurt her. Allison always enjoyed being rocked; she was already back asleep before Paul finished an impromptu version of Brahms's Lullaby. He tucked her back into bed and quietly exited the room. Paul was a curious sort. Even in his present female form, he understood that even magic follows rules. He and Peggy had been magically transformed into the other and he wanted to know why and how. The prime suspect was the necklace. He stopped on the way back to the bedroom to grab his laptop. Back in bed, he opened up the computer and did a few Google searches on magic necklaces. One such search referenced the 'Medallion of Zulo', an artifact of African origin. He read that legend says that if one wears the Medallion and touches another person, those two persons will exchange form. This got Paul's attention since it was exactly what happened to him and Peggy. A little further surfing produced a drawing of the Medallion depicting an angel figure almost identical to the one on his necklace. The referencing site went on to say that the change was reversible but only after a 12 hour waiting period. It further said that the Medallion would not work on a woman who was pregnant or menstruating. Paul was confident that he had discovered the means by which he and Peggy were transformed. He passed the laptop and the necklace to Peggy to let her see what he had found. She read it intently, then checked the time. It was then around 10:30 pm. She calculated that they had changed around 9:00 which meant that they were locked into their present forms until at least 9:00 the next morning. Then she read the part about the Medallion not working on a woman who was pregnant or menstruating. "Well I know I'm not pregnant or I wouldn't have been able to change into you," she said to Paul. "But I know that I'm about to ovulate any time now. More correctly, you are about to ovulate. And you just had unprotected sex with me. It's entirely possible that you just became pregnant. I guess we'll find out in the morning." "Pregnant? Me? No way!!" Paul retorted. "Way, honey; very much way," Peggy replied. "I know you're new to this woman stuff but we girls can and do get pregnant every day. And you, at least for now, appear to be fully female. That means that you can get pregnant. It's something you should have considered before you climbed into bed with me. Contraception is the woman's responsibility, isn't it?" Peggy knew safe sex was the responsibility of both partners but she was trying to drive home a point. Paul thought about that for a few minutes, then concluded that there was little he could do about it at this point. His option was to wait it out and see what happens in the morning. Of larger concern was how he and Peggy would handle the children until they had the opportunity to change back. "Peggy," asked Paul, "what do we do in the morning?" It was a Mortonson family tradition that, on weekends, the kids awoke early and joined Mom and Dad in bed where Paul would read stories. The family had a large collection of children's books (Paul was in the book business, after all) and the practice was for each child to pick a story and bringing the book into the parents' bedroom with them. But the kids arose around 7:00, their parents would still be in each other's bodies. Peggy answered, "The kids will never guess there is a problem if we remember to act like the each other. We both have to be on our guard. Are you up to it?" "I'll have to be, I guess. We have no other good option. Peggy," Paul continued, "since I comforted Allison which you normally do, would it be presumptuous of me to ask you to do things that I normally do?" "I suppose not," she replied. "Then, would you get dressed and go to the store for me. I forgot to remind you that we're almost out of milk. We don't have enough for breakfast tomorrow. Would you, as the father of the family, mind doing that for me?" "You want me to get dressed in your clothes and drive to the store just for a gallon of milk? Is that what you just asked me to do?" "Well, you are the man of the house, aren't you? You wouldn't want a frail woman like me going out alone into the dark and cold of night would you?" Peggy knew she had lost the battle. "I suppose that I am the only real man here," answered Peggy, "the only one with balls enough for the job. But you do owe me. Remember, revenge is a dish best served cold." Peggy got up, donned a set of Paul's underwear, then his favorite jeans and Pendleton shirt. She saw the necklace on the bed and, worried that it might get misplaced, put it in her shirt pocket for safekeeping. She thought it strange to have shirt pockets. But she also thought it strange to have a chest with no boobs attached. After she laced up Paul's running shoes, she automatically looked for her purse. She quickly realized that what she really needed was Paul's wallet which was in her pants pocket. Thus equipped, she headed for the garage where she took Paul's car because the seat was already set for Paul's larger frame. Peggy was a bit freaked about being out in public in Paul's body. She knew the local 7-11 was only three miles away. She gave herself ten minutes to get there, three minutes to get in and out of the store and another ten minutes to get back to her garage; 23 minutes total elapsed time of which only three was actually in public. Taking a deep breath, she started the car and backed out of the garage. While Peggy was gone, Paul tried to do what he thought Peggy would do before going to bed. There was nothing new about brushing his teeth, but he did use her toothbrush. He knew she always removed her make-up and washed her face before bed. He was surprised at how much removing make-up came as second nature to him. He somehow knew to apply moisturizer afterwards and how much to apply. He was also surprised at how it felt natural to brush out his long hair. Emptying his bladder was another matter but he just did what felt right and it worked. It was even natural when he remembered to wipe after peeing. Instinctively reaching for his male pajamas, Paul hesitated, then went to Peggy's closet and did a quick visual inventory of her night gowns. He chose a sheer silk gown that he had always enjoyed removing from Peggy during foreplay. Perhaps she would return the favor when she returned. Paul was pleasantly surprised at how soft the gown felt going on and how it made him feel more feminine. Paul was new at feeling feminine and was developing a taste for it. He didn't know what, if anything, he had done to deserve coming into possession of that necklace, but he was already making plans for how he and Peggy could use it to spice up their marriage. Not that he was unhappy with his male sex life. It was that, having experienced his first female orgasm, he wanted more of sex on the receiving end of a penis, even though it was his own penis he was receiving. Paul slid into bed, amazed at how his unrestrained breasts jiggled with every movement. His boobs were highly sensitive to the touch yet he couldn't stop touching them. Having a set of breasts available to fondle at will is every adolescent male's dream. Having them attached to him wasn't exactly how Paul's adolescent dream played out but the experience was fun none the less. Not that having boobs was all fun and games. Paul found that rolling over in bed required a developed technique and that laying flat on his chest, which was his favorite sleeping position, was uncomfortable. But on balance, at least until the novelty wore off, he wasn't complaining. Paul turned on the TV and started channel surfing. He went past Letterman and Leno, neither of which caught his interest. He passed the news channels, his usual favorites, which seemed somehow boring. He passed the children's channels, wondering who watches preschool programming at midnight. He even passed a few infomercial channels until one caught his eye. They were selling a facial moisturizing beauty cream. Paul watched in fascination as the model demonstrated how to apply the product. It started to occur to Paul that he was watching something in which he would usually have zero interest. It also crept into his mind that he wished he could get his skin to look as healthy as the model's. Before tonight, soft skin was never on Paul's wish list. Whatever force had allowed him and Peggy to swap bodies was at work on his male consciousness, planting female thoughts in his head. He quickly clicked on ESPN, lest he sink so deep into his feminine side that he might have trouble getting his male side back. Paul started to worry when Peggy didn't return. Like Peggy, Paul had done a mental calculation that said she would be back in about a half an hour. When she wasn't back after 45 minutes, he worried. When she wasn't back after an hour, he called her cell phone. It rang in her purse which was on the bedroom floor. He then called his own cell phone. It rang on the dresser, across the room. Peggy had left without taking either phone. Paul continued to worry. The knock on the door came about two hours after Peggy had left. Paul donned Peggy's bathrobe, checked the peep hole to see who it was, then opened the door. It was the Palo Alto police; two uniformed officers. "Mrs. Mortonson?" the officer asked. "Yes," Paul answered hesitantly. "May we come in?" asked the officer. "Of course, please do," replied Paul, motioning the officers toward the living room. Paul noticed the brass crosses on the uniform of the officer who did the talking. This worried him greatly because he knew the crosses indicated a chaplain and when a chaplain visits you, it's almost always to deliver bad news. It falls to the chaplain to notify the next of kin of a death in the family. "Mrs. Mortonson, there was an accident this evening involving your husband, Paul. Your husband was making a left turn onto El Camino Real when his car was struck at high speed by another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was apparently drunk at the time. He was cited for DUI and taken to the hospital for broken bones and internal injuries. Your husband suffered severe head injuries. The EMT's worked on him as best they could. He never regained consciousness. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. We are truly sorry for your loss." Paul was dumbstruck. He had trouble breathing. He had trouble thinking. Peggy was dead. Yet Paul was on the way to the morgue. He was Peggy. Just then the commotion awakened Allison who hopped out of bed and wandered down the hall to the living room. "Why are the police here, mommy?" she asked. Paul took Allison into his arms and hugged the child. The hug was as reassuring to Paul as it was to Allison. Paul explained that their Dad had been in a car accident and was in the hospital. The police, he explained, were there to let Mom know that Dad wouldn't be coming home that night but that they could see him in the morning. Paul then carried Allison back to her bed and tucked her back in, again reassuring her that everything was alright and to sleep well. Returning to the living room, the chaplain offered Paul an array of resources available to someone whose spouse had just died. He asked if she needed a volunteer to stay with her for the rest of the evening. He asked if she belonged to a faith community and offered to advise the pastor of her husband's passing. He instructed her on the location of her husband's body and when and where it would be available for transfer to a funeral home. She would, he said, be required to view and identify the body before it could be released. Paul thanked the chaplain for his concern and took his business card with gratitude. Paul explained that he needed time to digest the events of the evening and declined the offer of a volunteer to spend the night. He said that he might need help the next day, perhaps someone to watch the children while he identified the body and made funeral arrangements. The chaplain tactfully explained that Police Chaplain is a volunteer position. He said that his day job was as the pastor of a Presbyterian congregation on north Palo Alto. Tomorrow being Sunday, he would be conducting services. He explained that, if she called the number on the card, another chaplain would answer but would be able to supply the full array of services available to city residents. He again expressed his sincere regrets and condolences, as did his assistant, and both men exited the house leaving the grieving Mrs. Mortonson alone. Paul got very little sleep that night. He, or more properly she, came to grips with the fact that he could never return to his life as Paul. Paul was dead. She was now Peggy and Peggy had responsibilities. She had two kids to look after. She looked all over the bedroom for the necklace, thinking that perhaps it could bring Peggy back. But how? The necklace apparently had to power to shift physical shapes. But bringing the dead back to life, well that was quite another matter. She never did find the necklace. She had no idea where it had gone and never would know. But it had left her as Peggy and Peggy had funeral arrangements to make as well as two kids to raise. By the time the sun came up the next morning, she was resigned to her fate and resolved to carry on with Peggy's life with style, grace and purpose. Paul was given a traditional Methodist funeral and buried not far from his place of birth. The funeral was attended by Paul's mother and most of his immediate family, none of whom ever suspected that the grieving widow was actually the deceased. Paul's book store closed for the day in his honor. It reopened the next day with Peggy as owner and General Manager. Paul left his widow a sizable life insurance policy. In addition, Peggy initiated a lawsuit against the driver of the other vehicle. The driver turned out to be the 20-something son of a well to do Silicon Valley executive. It was determined that he was legally drunk at the time of the accident. He was charged with vehicular homicide, found guilty and was serving time at Folsom Prison when Peggy initiated her suit. Because of the strength of her case, his insurance company settled quickly for a figure well into seven figures. Peggy set up trusts for her girls that would guarantee they would always live in comfort. The trust was modified less than a year later to include Paul and Peggy's third child, Amanda. It turns out that Peggy, as Paul, had impregnated Paul, as Peggy, the one and only time they had sex in each other's forms, the night Peggy was killed. Paul, as Peggy, carried the child to full term and delivered her vaginally. Paul, as Peggy, made a pledge to herself, and to the real Peggy's memory, that she would be the best mother she could be to her girls. But she eventually concluded that her girls needed a father figure in their lives. She knew that she couldn't fill both the role of mother and father and that her fate was to be the mother of the family. Besides, she wanted a sex life. She had had sex only once since becoming female and she liked it. She wanted more. She started dating shortly after Amanda was born. The real Peggy would have wanted her to. She hasn't met Mr. Right yet, but she's actively looking. As for the Medallion, Paul, as Peggy, never saw it again. As we know, it was in Peggy's shirt pocket when she left to get milk that Saturday night. When she was hit, the car rolled over twice. As it rolled, the Medallion dropped from her pocket and landed in the back seat of the car. From the accident scene, the car was towed to an impound yard where the insurance company declared it a total loss. From there it was sold to a scrap dealer who towed the hulk to his own yard further down the peninsula. There, while disassembling the wreck, the Medallion was found by a yard employee who thought it might be valuable. He put it in his pocket for safekeeping. Where it went from there is another story. Altered Fates: Triptych By BobH (c) 2003 Lucius Duvall checked his reflection and nodded his approval at what he saw. Altered Fates The Things we do for Friends

Altered Fates: The Things We Do For Friends part 1 of 5 By Morpheus I stood in the school bathroom with my half soapy hands underneath the water faucet, grimacing as I rinsed them off. Then pausing for a second, I looked up and into the mirror that was hung on the wall in front of me. The same familiar 14 year old boy that I always saw looked back at me with a sour expression. His messy brown hair was in need of a cut and his nose still had blood dripping from it. "Shit."...

Altered Fates The Missing Episode of the Fugitive

As always, any comments or criticism is welcome. Feel free to email me at [email protected]. Altered Fates A Christmas Tale

ALTERED FATES: A CHRISTMAS TALE by BobH (c) 2012 Ed Geraghty sat down heavily on the changing room bench and sighed. He felt every minute of his fifty-six years, and then some. Any positive effect on his health of thirty five years pounding the streets delivering mail had been more than offset by the same number of years spent drinking hard liquor to excess. Not that this was an option open to him any more, given the precarious state of his liver. He was not a bad man, and had...

Altered Fates Auntie Em

I originally had no intention of making this an Altered Fates story. However, after my first two drafts turned out horrible, I decided to try a different angle with it. This is what resulted. Altered Fates: Auntie Em By Morpheus Corey winced as his foot went into the puddle of water, muttering "Damn" to himself. He was already completely soaked through from the heavy rain, which gave no sign of letting up. Shivering in his wet clothes, Corey really wished that he hadn't ...

Altered Fates Babysitting

I've had this story in mind for quite awhile, but the first time I started writing it, Eric came out with a very similar Altered Fates story called The Baby-sitter Caper first. Because of that I put this one on hold for awhile. Well here it finally is. I know that the ending leaves a lot that could be done afterwards, but I left off where I was on purpose. Perhaps I'll do a sequel, or perhaps I'll just leave the rest to the readers imagination. Altered Fates: Babysitting By...

Altered Fates The Mistakes of Others

Altered Fates - The Mistakes of Others By KathyB Learn from the mistakes of others; life is too short to make them all yourself. Chapter #1 Jim Collins was nothing if not methodical. He rose routinely at 5:00 am, tended to personal hygiene as the situation warranted, poured a cup of hot black coffee from his...

Altered Fates: The After-Effect Written by Liam Slade Published originally on Fictionmania, to be reprinted with author's permission. http://www.liamslade.com *** For starters, let me tell you that I never felt different. Altered Fates 3rd Strike And Your Out

Following my debut story last week (Lord's Prayer), along with the feedback I've received (thanks Eric Bloodstone, Jennifer Adams, Mindy Rich and all the others) I have gotten the bug ! This is a spin-off story from Lord's Prayer which, I hope, wraps up this episode. I wanted so much to make some sort of difference in the world that I overrode my wife?s objections and took the diplomatic position offered to me anyhow. Altered Fates Chimera Pt1

Altered Fates: Chimera, Part 1 By Elliot Reid I stood at the window, peering out into the cold morning light. I waited a full five minutes, face squashed against the glass, feeling my nose get uncomfortably cool. The trees in the avenue were in full leaf and I couldn't see far down the street, however much I squinted. I saw a vehicle move. Was that my parents' SUV gliding back along the road? Nope, false alarm. I was paranoid my folks would return. It was known to happen. Mom...

Altered Fates Chimera Pt3

Altered Fates: Chimera, Part 3 By Elliot Reid I slept fitfully that night, back at home in my own bed. I was exhausted from my lovemaking with Simone, who since her transformation had almost limitless demand for sex inside Ayesha's lithe body. But even though I felt sucked dry I was jazzed by the experience. I was on a high. It was late when I'd left Simone. My parents would raise Cain if I stayed out too long. But before I walked out the door we talked over Simone's plan to turn...

Altered Fates: Chimera, Part 5 By Elliot Reid Jase and I were both victims of the Medallion of Zulo; something we discovered the first night we slept together. We became close after that. We weren't in love or anything, but I welcomed Jase's support, his understanding. He knew what it was like to have your life turned upside down by a change of sex, of identity. Altered Fates: Dennis (I know, its not the greatest name, but it works) By Morpheus ([email protected]) Walking home from work, I happened to look down, and saw a small brass colored medallion sitting in the gutter. Curiously, I pulled it out and held it up examining it. When I wrote Auntie Em, I had no intention of writing a sequel to it. However, after I finished it I started thinking about a few other ideas I had for the main characters and decided to use them as well. Altered Fates Lyles Story

Lyle's Story by Grendel There are two sides to every story. Most of us would prefer to see the world in black and white, but the decisions we make are never as clear- cut as that. I know that I've made some enemies in my life, and perhaps with hindsight some of the pain that I've caused could have been avoided, but I've never deliberately acted with malice. I've just made some bad choices. I grew up in the shadow of my elder brother, Ken. He was the Golden Child, the...

Altered Fates: The Vacation Souvenir by Tim Willows "Be careful!" June cried. Philip dismissed his wife's warnings with a backward wave of his hand. She stood anxiously on the dock as he swam farther and farther out into the lake. The early autumn sky was grey and many of the trees at the edge of the water were already bare. The water was freezing, and June had decided to stay out of it after only dipping her foot into it. Philip had laughed at her, shivering in her bikini...
