Chapter 6.
As I woke up the next morning, I was feeling good for the first time

I think trying to hide my obvious changes was not mentally healthy on my
part. My wife expected the changes and I should have been more open when
they started. To the untrained eye I may look female but I was still me.
Standing in front of a whole new precipice in my life, one I believed I
would scale it once again and I will succeed even more!
While pondering those thoughts I was greeted by my two morning nurses
who explained I was being put on a more stringent routine of exercise to
help me to build up muscle with the hopes of gaining enough weight that
I could go home to finish my rehab.
I told them, "Lead the way ladies, I am all yours!" With that the two
nurses escorted me to my P.T. session.
Before we started, I had to weigh in. I was shocked to see I was down to
127. All my positive thoughts went flying out of my head and once again
I felt like I was going to cry. I had a panic attack thinking the cancer
is still attacking me. I knew that was not good.
I breathed deeply and slowly concentrating on the fact Dr. Turnbul was
sure I was cancer free. Probably my body just hasn't adjusted to things
yet. I had to concentrate on good thoughts. I had to show these people I
am mentally and physically healthy enough to go home. I kept my mouth
shut and smiled at them as they asked if I was alright.
They said I needed to work out harder in order to gain muscle. I
attacked my work outs like never before. From that day on I insisted on
working out three times a day.
Still It was humiliating. Most of women on the PT staff were stronger
and could out more than me. I was still fighting the feeling it was due
to undetected SGMS cancer cells. Beside that fear one real physical
reason. I was constantly distracted by my own body. I felt my breasts
jiggle and bounce as I exercised and I would lose focus. Sport Bra's do
not stop all the jiggling.
On top of that I was still wearing my men's briefs, workout shorts,
socks and sneakers. However, all my clothes just didn't seem to fit
well. My underwear in particularly kept slipping down making matters
worse. I made mention of my clothes problem to Katie and the she
eventually brought me some new work out wear as well as under pants. As
I unpacked them, I noticed they had the labels cut off. I swore they
were women's clothes. They were with lighter pastel colored fabrics.
Katie said she bought them in a young man's section of the store. Things
in those sections of stores were brighter colors and they don't like
scratchy labels. Young people weren't like adults she reminded me.
I looked at the underwear and I said these are definitely not men's
briefs! They were all cotton but there was multiple colors and no flap
in front.
Katie said, "Look Paul, I tried to find you something that would fit.
Due to the hormones in you right now you have a bit of a bigger butt.
The flap is made for a man's penis to give it room. With you not having

At the beginning of the twenty third week Dr. Turnbull, Katie and I had
our usual Monday meeting. I was told I was going to be released on

PT nurses came in to awaken me. This day though they told me they were
only there to take a quick weight check of me then say good-bye, give me
a hug and wish me well.
I told them I was so excited to finally be leave and how I couldn't
sleep at all last night. As we talked, I stepped on that confounded
scale and I notice I actually lost 5 pounds and was weighing in at 125
lbs. I thought to myself they might not release me if they think I was
still losing weight.
I jumped from the scale before they looked and lied to them, "Ladies, I
am weighing in at 130lbs!"
I was so happy they wrote that weight down without question. They saw
how nervous I was acting and the blond nurse suggested I take a mild
sedative to relax. I took their suggestion but instead of one I asked
for and took two. I really needed to calm down I told them!
"I know your wife had scheduled a barber to cut your hair and a clothier
to bring you a nice suit to wear home for later on, so why not just
relax, eat a healthy breakfast and rest until they come in and take care
of you" Jeanine the dark haired nurse suggested.
After breakfast I felt so relaxed as I lay on my bed waiting for the
barber. I was getting used to the long locks and thought I might not
want it cut real short. Maybe business long so to speak. I was in and
out of sleep when I heard an aid who brought in what I assumed was a
barber's chair on wheels and locked it in place. This place has been so
patient friendly and attentive I mused. They actually have a special
barber's chair to take care of patient's needs, Wow!
I continued to drift in and out of sleep but was awakened when I heard a
women's voice calling to me.
"Mrs., Mrs. I am here, time to pretty up to go home!" she said.
I was about to correct her I was a Mister but before I could speak, the
woman said in a fast-flighty way her name was Michelle and she was here
to pretty me up before I got dressed! The woman assisted me in standing
and then escorted me to the chair, a beautiful soft leather chair so

I fought hard to keep my eyes open but it was easier closing them. The
woman told me how busy she was this morning as three other women on my
floor were being released.
I was about to tell her it is nice for the "other women". But I am a
man, but I was very drowsy I felt myself fighting to not fall asleep. I
just didn't have the energy it seemed.
I remember her saying to me was, "Your husband must be happy getting his

wife's voice in the hallway. Katie was talking to someone and as I
opened my eyes I saw her enter my room.

wrong room," Katie said and turned to leave the room.
"Sweetie it's me!" I said with a laugh in my voice. I know I was still
disorientated from the sedatives and slightly lightheaded. "You're not
in the wrong room," I told her.
I got up quickly from the chair not yet realizing how I was dressed. As
I stood up I stumbled slightly, I looked down to the floor I realized I
had on a short yellow colored micro dress, shear stockings and opened
toed matching yellow colored heels! I touched my dress and noticed my
fingernails were trimmed, shiny and buffed with the same color of my
toes. On my left hand there was a diamond engagement ring wedding band!
I made my way to the floor mirror in my bathroom only to see I now had
curly red hair down halfway to my waist! Ringlets resting on the bodice
of the dress. I nearly fainted as I could see two large breasts pushing

to our lake front property to help you relax. On the way here, I stopped
by the bank and took out enough money to pay for anything with cash so

you! Like some suburban wife ready to go out for night on the town with
her husband!" Katie yelled.
That is when I heard her phone ring. Katie fumbled for her it in her
purse finally answering it. Katie didn't say a word but got a worried
look on her face.
Hanging up the phone and she blurted out, "Oh My God!" Katie shrieked.
"They are on their way up here! I told the office staff you were getting
out today and do not disturb us. No calls, no messaging of any kind.
Paul, we have to go right now! Get moving we don't have much time!"

"The way I am dressed? NO WAY," I protested. "How could I walk out of
here right now?" I stammered. "You said it yourself, I am made up like I
am going on a date! This dress is way too revealing, it too bright, too

to the car in these things?

stay here and greet them instead."

"Paul it looks exactly like you have had a sex change! So, choose this
second. Stay and greet them or put on your big girl panties, grab your
purse, walk down the hallway and sit by the elevator. That's where I
will meet you in a few minutes after they come up here and leave. I will
make an excuse that you had one more test and won't return for a few
hours. That will get rid of them," Katie told me.
"Sit by the elevator, what if they see me?" I pleaded.
"No one will recognize you dressed like that, I promise you that!" Katie
said with a laugh. "After they leave you and I can walk out to the car
and drive home. You can change there. Then I will get Turnbull on the
phone to fix this and send the barber to our house to cut your hair. Now
grab your purse and leave!".
"Grab my purse! Why do that, I don't need a purse!" I cried.
"Because no self-respecting woman is going out dressed like you are
dressed without carrying her purse too! So just do it and get going
before any of them get up here," Katie yelled at me.
Katie said to me, "And really Paul is now the time to argue about
purses?"
I was frightened and did what she said.
"You're right Katie what would I say to them? Hi guys I beat cancer, I
am feeling fine and oh by the way, I decided to change my sex too!" I
sarcastically said to Katie.
"Be quiet and just get moving!" Katie yelled.
I quickly made my way out the room and started down the hallway.
Remembering from my emersion time, heel first, heel first as I stepped
by several nurses who looked at me and smiled. I was about fifteen feet
from the elevator. When it happened, the elevator door opened and all
three of my visitors walked out and started moving down the hallway
directly toward me. I stopped dead in my heels. My visitors where
talking to each other and I hoped they wouldn't notice me. Matt and Tom
pretended to just give me a glance. But really their eyes were giving me
that look men give women when we are checking them out. They started at
my legs and moved up to my breasts. Hey you two I have a face you know I
thought to myself. Wendel just looked me in the eye and walked by me. I
always thought he was gay.
I didn't want to be noticed but for some reason I felt a pang of
excitement when I attacked "The Stare" and some disappointment in
Wendel's response. I thought I was just nervous that's all.
Thankfully they passed me by. I decided to stop and see if they had
entered into my room. I turned around slowly that was when I noticed
Matt had stopped, turned around and was staring at me!

I got to the elevator and pushed the button to go down. I wasn't going
to just sit there and wait as Katie said to do. I decided I would meet
her down stairs instead. The elevator seemed it was stuck at the first
floor. I looked back down the hall and saw my employees I saw the group
exiting my room and were walking straight back toward me again. Katie
must have chewed them out for coming here! I quickly took a seat on a
couch by the elevator like Katie said to. I knew enough to keep my
ankles crossed which kept my knees tightly together.
I watched nervously as the men came straight at me to wait for the
elevator also. While we all waited, Matt tried to start up a
conversation with me. I just ignored him.
When the door finally opened and the men started to enter into it, Matt
tried to make small talk with me one last time saying "Your chariot
awaits my fair damsel. Do you need a Gentlemanly Knight to escort you to
your carriage?"
I glared at him and answered, "No thank you Tin Man, I am waiting for my

I don't know why I said husband. Although perhaps it was so Matt would
think there was another male coming soon and he would just leave me
alone.
Matt just walked on the elevator ignoring my comment. As he turned to
face the entrance of the elevator I saw him mouth "Bitch" as he was
staring at me!
A few more nervous minutes waiting for Katie ended when she finally
walked out and down the hall to meet me.
I said to her, "Katie what took you so long, I was waiting for you here
to go down to our car but twice I ran into our employees. By the way we
are firing Matt, he tried some lame pick up line on me!"
Katie laughed and said "Calm down, look at how you are dressed. He was
probably just hoping he could bed you that's all, Matt is All Man you
know!"
There it was again, "All Man" I took her statement a slap in the face
and was mad at her for using it.
I retorted, "Yea and so am I!"
Katie just looked at me smiling and said, "Yes dear, of course you are.
Oh, by the way, I think I noticed a run in your hose."
We finally got to the first floor and made our way outside. I was
ecstatic! Fresh air, sunshine! The smells of the outdoors and sites
couldn't be ignored. One other thing I couldn't ignore, the women were
careful never to make eye contact. But you could see them gaze at our
clothing. Now the men they were different. The stared at us. At Katie
and at me with those manly looks I knew so well It made me uncomfortable
but I couldn't tell Katie.
When we reached our car, Katie told me she had better drive as I looked
nothing like the man on my driver's license.
Another put down of my masculinity. I didn't get mad this time but I
sarcastically said "Thank you these heels are killing my feet anyway."
Katie just kind of giggled and said, "Yea all man!"
We got into our car and pulled away and headed for home.
I said to Katie, "I know this sounds crazy but let's stop somewhere for
a quick drink!"
Katie looked at me and said, "Dressed like that, I don't know!"
I laughed. "I know it would be crazy but I really could use one or maybe
two!" I told her. I had been inside so long I didn't want to just go
home and get stuck inside so quickly. I could get my hair cut latter or
even tomorrow.
That's when I heard something rustle behind my seat. There had been some
blankets in the back but I didn't pay any attention to them when I got
into the car. Now I heard a voice coming from directly behind me, a
voice of a man!
