Chapter 22 -- An Unremarkable Trip for the Unmentionables
Randall wasn't available to make the trip to pick up the donations the
next day, and that was fine with Jimmie. He wanted to update Ms. Butler
about Randall's involvement and confirm that she was alright with the two
of them venturing out together. He also contacted Ms. Oberdorfer to
arrange a mutually acceptable date and time for the pick-up. She assured
him she wanted to be there to smooth the way because Jimmie wasn't known
at the shop that housed the duplicate bins, and because she wanted to
meet "Jimmie's new friend".
Ms. Butler was fine about all the arrangements but cautioned Jimmie
against wearing a good outfit the day of the pick-up because it could get
dirty, or even ripped. "I think you should wear the overalls you use on
Saturday's when we visit the outdoor market," she suggested, "and then
you won't have to worry about damaging your nice things." Neither
mentioned that the "overalls" were in fact her bib shorts, and that
Jimmie wore a pair of her nude panties under them to minimize the show of
underwear. Jimmie agreed, and said he would drop over that evening to
pick them up.
The following day Randall drove his van to Jimmie's apartment building to
pick him up for the trip. Jimmie came out dressed in bib shorts and his
striped lavender tee-shirt and hopped into the passenger seat. His hair
was covered with a red bandana that Ms. Butler had also suggested, to
"keep the hair out of his eyes" in her words.
"You look terrific Jimmie," Randall enthused, "so put together." Jimmie
smiled his thanks. and reciprocated "So do you."
In fact, Randall did look well-turned-out. He had on a white, sleeveless
shirt that ended above his waist, and light tan canvas shorts that
reached halfway down his thighs and ballooned outward to the hems so that
they could be mistaken for a skirt. Today, his ponytail was replaced with
two pigtails sprouting from either side. "I wanted my hair to match
your's," he offered. blushing as he said it. Indeed, Jimmie's hair, and
Yvette's, had grown out enough so that they now sported matching pigtails
most days.
"May I call you Randy?" Jimmie then inquired. "I won't if you don't want
me to."
"Oh sure you can," Randall replied. "I'd like that."
So, off to the store to pick up the duplicate bins.
Chapter 23 -- Ms. Oberdorfer and the Boys
Me. Oberdorfer was overwhelmed -- there was no other word for it -- at the
sight of the two boys as they hopped out of the van at her "high-value
outlet" where the duplicate bins awaited. Both were delectably and
naively dressed in women's clothing head-to-toe but had convinced
themselves it was merely an "androgynous" choice on their parts. She had
already welcomed Jimmie's embrace of his "work outfit" of shift and cream
slippers, plus barrette (now of varying colors and shapes day-by-day) and
cami. He no longer wore his black leggings, now that he shaved his legs,
so he would "look like the other sales assistants" who wore blush pink
tights. Ms. Oberdorfer really loved his bare legs, displayed to mid-
thigh, but the thought of him in pinkish pantyhose was too much to
resist. She was still calculating how to switch the cami for a training
bra. She only acknowledged now the strong current within herself to
"regress" Jimmie to a tween or perhaps even younger -- maybe a toddler if
it could be achieved. This would be something to carefully pursue with
his library supervisor.
His new friend's appearance was equally stunning. She could only imagine
the strong woman in his life who had steered him to dressing this
stylishly and unmistakably female. And yet he, like Jimmie, seemed
authentically unaware of this vibe, so she didn't comment on either boy's
outfit.
She was seeing Jimmie in his bib shorts for the first time and, despite
his lavender tee-shirt, she could see flashes of the nude panties he was
wearing at the side slits, and also hugging his buttocks where the shorts
exposed a bit of his bottom. She had no doubt that his library supervisor
had maneuvered him into this little-boy outfit, and to wearing it in
public and Ms. Oberdorfer's presence. She had to meet this "other woman"
in Jimmie's life soon and expected she would.
She now took a big, big chance in addressing Jimmie. "Ginny, you're right
on time and you've brought someone to assist! Would you introduce us
please?"
Jimmie was dumbstruck. He had never imagined this turn of events. It did
race through his mind that it was inevitable that his work life and his
"shop assistant" life would someday collide and that, deep down, he was
ready for that to happen. He could not have imagined that it might work
out this way, but the circumstances were favorable in fact. Ms.
Oberdorfer had always been on his side, he knew, and he had decided from
their first meeting the other evening, that Randy was an accepting
personality. So, he responded to Ms. Oberdorfer's gambit.
"Uh..." he gulped. "Ms. Oberdofer, this is Randy, who has a lot expertise
in retailing and is going to pitch in to assist us all with the Booster
Day preparations. His roommate offered his help. Randy, this is Ms.
Oberdofer, who owns the shops that are donating the items we are selling
at Booster Day. I work as a part-time sales assistant at one of her
shops."
Ms. Oberdorfer took the initiative. "Randy, it so nice of you to assist
us this way -- picking up the donations for a start --and any thing else
your roommate suggests. Tell me a little about your retailing
experience."
With that, the three of them went into the back entrance to the shop and
collected the bins to place them in the van. As they talked, Mr.
Oberdorfer learned that Randy had set up two Etsy shops that sold
handmade women's underwear and was fully conversant with the range of
factors to catalogue and then locate the hundreds of bras and panties
that would be offered for sale in just two weeks.
"Randy, if you can make the time, I'd like you to visit my high-end shop
and offer your expertise for handling our extensive inventory of bras and
panties. My primary difficulty is somehow integrating a standard "point-
of-sale" application with the virtually unique items from our stock when
they are sold. Once sold, I can't seem to easily remove that item from
inventory, and report the sale for tax purposes. It's that almost every
item is different and has an 'arbitrary' acquisition cost because each
purchase typically involves many items and a negotiation with the woman
selling us her used underwear. I say 'us' because Ginnie has become an
invaluable member of staff and does the initial sorting and hand washing
of the used articles as they come in. Anyhow, please help us if you have
the time and inclination."
Randy had followed all this and responded immediately "Ms. Oberdorfer, I
know I can solve that problem using a technique I applied to the Etsy
underwear sales sites. It involves "tagging" each item when you first get
it, probably after Jimmie's has washed the item. Then you have a basis
for identifying it from start to finish. It's actually simple with pre-
printed tags that can be stapled carefully to each article. i also have
an algorithm that could assign a realistic acquisition cost." Strangely,
he had not asked for an explanation of Ms. Oberdorfer's reference to
Jimmie as "Ginny". Maybe he just liked this "bending of reality"?
"Well then, let's set a date and time to visit our shop and investigate
this further. Obviously, I would pay you your standard rate for the
consultancy."
"OK," Randy responded. "I recommend that Jimmie, or is it Ginny, be there
too because he will be implementing the tagging and all that."
Ms. Oberdofer smiled broadly and replied "Ginny should be there for sure.
Just to clear up the confusion, Ginny is one of our best sales associates
and has adopted a kind of androgynous appearance during shop hours to
make our customers comfortable when discussing their underwear needs. So,
I and his immediate supervisor Yvette asked him to adopt the name Ginny
when he's on the shop floor. I have to say that your nickname would work
just as well if you spend time with us at the high-end shop."
"It would be my pleasure Ms. Oberdorfer. And, I think I should also call
Ginny by her correct name when we are together at the shop." Well, that
seemed settled. Jimmie was a little nervous about all this that have been
decided without his input, but that was nothing new.
