Kevin's present was different but still nice. It was a solid silver double photo frame which was hinged in the middle so that it could be stood up. Kelly noticed an inscription on the back which read "Forever in Love." * * * There was no doubt that Linda's Wii console was going to be the main attraction for this party, as Mark and Kevin were already arguing about which of them would be better. Kevin won the game with Linda coming second. It seemed only right as they had played on the console more times than the rest. They then decided to play baseball, but with everyone on one team, versus a computer team. It caused problems as the controllers had to be passed around. Despite good performances from Linda, Kevin and Kelly, they lost the game. The girls then sat and became spectators as the arranged "Battle of the boyfriends" took place. With nun-chucks fitted, Mark and Kevin prepared for their boxing match. "Ok, prepare to have your lights put out," said Kevin, in a competitive tone. "I'd like to see you try," replied Mike. "Make this the best of 3 matches," said Kelly, who was on the fence for this. Alicia and Linda were backing their respective boyfriends. "Come on Kev, show Mike how soft he is!" said Linda. "You're not soft Mike," said Alicia. "Show him how much you've grown!" Kelly was amazed at how spirited the support was, but then she knew that she would get behind Paula in similar circumstances. The first match started and it was a close contest, even if Kevin had had plenty of experience. "No, it can't be!" said Kevin as his Mii hit the deck. "Well done Mike!" said Alicia. Kevin recovered and put down Mike in the next round. The match went to the scorecards and Mike just edged it. "1-0 to Mike," said Mark. "Great game, this." Match 2 was also close but Kevin came out winner this time. By the time the third and decisive match arrived, both boys had cramp in their arms. It didn't go to the scorecards this time as Kevin scored a KO in the final round. "Good match," said Mike. "I just need to get more practice in, then I'll whip you." Kevin was about to put down his controllers when Mark stepped up. "I'll give you a match," he said. "Ok, but I am tired now," said Kevin. "Come off it, you're younger than me," said Mark. The match between Mark and Kevin was close too, but Kevin's experience paid off. He won on points after scoring 2 knockdowns to Mark's 1. "Bad luck dad," said Kelly. "Just a bit of fun," he replied. "Have we finished with this?" asked Linda, referring to the Wii. "I'm going to have to get one of them," said Mike. "Or even an X-Box 360." "Me too," said Kelly. "Ok, I'm removing it," said Linda, when a response didn't come. The time was drawing on and the guests were preparing for their parents to pick them up. Miriam was happy to see the bottles of pop that she had bought emptied when everyone helped themselves to more. As the guests waited for their parents to collect them, they talked among themselves. "Any chance of me coming over tomorrow?" asked Kelly to Alicia. "Sure, I've told you before that you're welcome anytime," said Alicia. "You're welcome at my place too," said Linda, who had finished disconnecting her Wii console. Eventually, the parents came and the guests made their farewells. Soon, it was just Kelly and her parents again. "I'm going over to Alicia's tomorrow," said Kelly. "No problem," said Miriam. "So, did you enjoy your party?" "Yes, I did," said Kelly. "Though I'll enjoy Sunday more."
