"But shall we give it a rest after that?" "Yes, lets," said Linda. They had 3 games of golf, but on the first 3 holes only. Linda won 2-1 but didn't boast about it. She turned the console off afterwards and moments later, they were called down for lunch. As they ate, Janet asked Kelly if she had been a bridesmaid before. "But as for single mothers, there are a number of reasons for why they are bringing up children alone, some have very valid reasons." "I guess so. But I'm sure we can manage," said Kelly. "Bye," said Kelly. * * * Thursday came and Kelly arranged for Alicia to meet her in town. They were joined by Alicia's mom Mary and they spent most of the day browsing the shops. "Have you thought about what to get Paula next week?" asked Alicia, who remembered that Paula's birthday was indeed the following Thursday. "Not at the moment," said Kelly. "Maybe some hair extensions for her." "Though that maybe to her liking, she may want to be patient and let her hair grow out naturally," said Alicia. "What about getting a dress for her?" asked Mary. "I don't know her dress size," admitted Kelly. "After all this time and you don't know?" said Alicia. "You're very similar in size so get her something that would fit you." "I'll talk to mom about it," said Kelly. "There might be other things she might want." "Ok, but you have got some time to do it," said Mary. "One thing I need to do is my photos!" said Kelly all of a sudden. "I'll do them now." They headed to the chemist where Kelly took her mobile phone and hooked it up to the photo kiosk machine. Alicia looked on as Kelly went through the holiday snaps and a few she took at her party. After selecting them and getting her receipt, she left the store and went to see her mom. Over in East Anglia, the Smiths were getting ready for the trip to Ipswich. But it was mixed emotions for Paula that morning. Her period started shortly after breakfast, and though she felt bad about it, it gave her hope that it would be over by the time they returned home on Saturday.
