Bobbie and Nicole go in deep cover to find their foe.
Insertion Time.
It was time for Bobbie and Nicole to go to Wells College. Nicole loved
Cinnamom Cigars and Bobbie liked the Cohibas. Bobbie admitted Berings
worked perfectly for cover. Bobbie liked Scott's and Nicole's thinking
on a Spa Fest at the end. A long soak in a hot tub with scented oils
and candles sounded great. Relaxing with good tunes, good food, a
little wine, and good friends. A great way to spend an afternoon. It
could clear a mind and soul without a thought. Throw in some of real
good brandy and cigars, and it would be almost like heaven. Bobbie knew
Belle would like it too. It would be a great way to do an after action
review. Bobbie started her days as a housekeeper and Nicole as a
student.

I was worried. I knew both Bobbie and Nicole were well trained as cops.
Scott is very sneaky when he needs be. He only told me he had a solid
cover for both of them. He did not tell what the cover was. I was
talking to Wild Bill. I said, "Now how can they keep a cover, when they
are being watched and we know one of our own is telling the main
suspect what we are up to?"
Wild Bill asked, "Did you say who was going? No you did not. You did
not say anything about old Scotty. Scott is used to making a cover
story in spots like this. He was the one who told Judge Anthony not to
put Bobbie in as security. Students never fully trust the guards at any
school. Bobbie can teach here as a Sergeant, but never a college class.
Too much paper work to fill out. No a grounds keeper or a housekeeper
works well. Little or no paper work, and they become invisible. No one
looks twice at the janitor."
I asked, "What about Ashantis Anthony?" (Not related to Judge Anthony)
Wild Bill said, "She is done here. When Bobbie and Nicole finish at
Wells College, she will be removed from the Wellman's Staff. The
grounds will be violation of Company Computer Rules and Company goals."
I said, "Is that allowed under the charter and the local labor board?"
Wild Bill said, "Yes it is. There maybe legal issues as well. Well that
is why Hedi is on staff here. The bar is easy compared to this. Lets
get some coffee and doughnuts."
I asked, "How is Larry doing?"
Wild Bill said, "Better than ever. Between John L Sullivan and Barry,
Larry is almost back to his old self. He still wants 'Lauire' to guide
his ways. He is better that way. He cares more about others when
'Laurie' guides him. If Larry could combine both his sides, he would be
a very good person for everyone. There is one more thing and it is
crazy. 'Laurie ' is Larry's twin sister. Laurie died in birth. Larry
lived and Laurie rode along. I know that sounds nuts, but this is the
Misty Mountains. The Spirits abound here."
I went, "Bill, you sound like something out of that old Twilight Zone
T.V. Show."
Wells College
Bobbie looked her morning list of tasks. Clean the Women's Bathrooms in
the Student Union. Wash the tables in the Union. Clean all the windows
and polish the brass work. Nicole was dealing with all the joys of
being a freshman. She was the target of a few jokes such as, getting a
can of steam pressure. Nicole knew this old gag and told her jokester
to get a life. They bonded after that. That was good. They were
roommates and Nellie Bligh liked Nicole. She did tell Nicole about some
of the pranks to be played. Nicole thought about it and decided that is
what they were. Pranks. Nicole knew that pranks would have been played
even if this assignment never came up. She also liked some of them.
"Nicole." said Nellie. "Did you ever force a guy to wear girl's
clothing?"
Nicole said, "Yes I did. I made my brother do so one time. He did look
cute and he is dating a friend of mine. She saw him both as male and
female."
Nellie asked, "Is it wrong to make the male students wear girlie type
clothing?"
Nicole said, "That is a tough one. While some may like it and some will
go along because they will think it is fun. There will be some who will
not do it. Do they deserve to be forced to wear a clothing style
because they came to this school? This is not West Point. The ones who
do not want to play along could tie up the school and the pranksters in
court. The pranksters may win in court. The school will not take the
chance one way or the other."
Nellie said, "Wow Nicole. You sound like you are into law school
stuff."
Nicole said, "Well yes I am. I also have friend who is now a lawyer. I
am starting college late in life. Job retraining. I used to work in a
brewery. This was part of the closing deal with the union. My brother
is a brewmeister. We both schlepped ale at a bar back home. If I get
stuck for cash, I can do so again here. I will work a neighborhood
corner type bar any day of the week. I will do so here because the tips
can be good."
Nellie said, "My sister went here. She told me of a crazy spot called
Murphy's Law. It got its name as part of a joke. The owner's name is
Murphy and an ex cop. He liked to have fun. He said it was his law to
have fun. The name stuck. It is a cool spot."
Nicole was thinking of calling Wild Bill at the Ye Old Irish Inn. She
knew he would vouch for her. Nicole did some waitress work there. She
also knew Herman Hessman would tell of her time at his place. She also
thought it could be a great way to talk with Bobbie at length and not
be thought unusual. She decided to e-mail both Wild Bill and Hedi of
her thoughts. She also asked them to e-mail Bobbie. Three days later
Wild Bill said by e-mail to do it.
Bobbie thought it was odd that Nicole would work at a local bar. But
Bobbie found out a lot of the students would hang out there. Nicole
could spot some of the pranksters and victims. She also could stop some
the stuff before it began.
The next weekend Bobbie was shopping at a local mall and ran into
Nicole. Bobbie and Nicole went into a nearby Pizza Uno and took a
booth. Bobbie ordered a pitcher of beer and two bowls of chili. "Nicole
why did you want to go to work at that bar?" asked Bobbie.
Nicole said, "It is a great way to do two things. First is, I get talk
with the students at length with out looking like a spy. Even though a
real spy would take a job like that. The other is to talk with you. Who
would look twice at a barmaid talking to a customer? No one. I also
picked up a nickname. I did not try to hide my age. I told everyone I
was using my union's job retraining packet. Most of the students have
started calling me ' Little Mother '. Even the dorm's R.A.s have let me
talk with students in an unofficial role. They are coming to me. I
don't try to tell them what do. I let them come up with answer on their
own. I just guide them to that goal. However today at work I will have
a minor problem. Howie is playing today in a scrimmage against Wells
College. What do I do?"
Bobbie said, "Be yourself. Also tell them the truth. You know Howie and
root for him. He is a very good friend and my ' competition ' in our
cover roles."
Nicole said, "Well I have been thinking at length. I think I am bi-
sexual. I can tell them that and it will stay in line with our cover.
Thanks Bobbie for listening." Nicole gave Bobbie a kiss on the lips.
On the Wells College grounds all of the male students got razed. Most
took it in stride. Some could not and quit. Some were harmed at a level
that could be called torture. Nicole and Bobbie wanted the ones who
caused the students to quit. They also wanted the ones who caused the
torture. They knew they were close and yet far from their goal. And
they were being watched.
