Author's Chat Night Guest: Morpheus On Saturday June 26, 1999 2PM PST Edited by Anne-Mal (*Anne-Mal) Hello sue! (sue) Hi Anne! I just wanted to pop in. I hope when I return the chat will be continuing. (*Anne-Mal) Well we will see, Saturday afternoon may be a bad time. (sue) Well, perhaps the European folks will be continuing on. This is a good time for them. (*Anne-Mal) Mindy wants to do a chat on Saturday, but at 11am EDT! In the middle of July! (sue) I think that would be difficult for a number of folks in the US, but perhaps it will work for those in the Far East. Saturday mornings are my busy times. (*Anne-Mal) You sure that your just not sleeping in! (sue) No. :) That's when I "do the chores", like shopping, going to the hardware store, etc.. + Morpheus has arrived. (Morpheus) Hello everyone. (sue) I'll probably be splitting shortly, Anne. I hope to be back soon. Hi Morpheus! (CarrieGore) It looks like the gang's all here! (*Anne-Mal) Recovered yet Paul? Editor's Note: Paul1954's chat was the previous day hosted by the Wondrous Wendy-J! (Paul1954) Hic!!! Funny though I'm just sitting here with a beer, worrying about getting typecast. (J) Hmmm. A beer sounds good! (Paul1954) Yeah, well it's 10pm here, so I am mellowing out. (Morpheus) Thank you everyone for showing up. (Stephanie) Hiya! (CarrieGore) Hi! (Lisa) Hi Morpheus, glad to be here! (LizBennett) [Sorry again that I am late!] (Morpheus) Hello to you all and I'm glad that you all showed. (*Anne-Mal) Liz, I never start without you! (LizBennett) Gosh! *Blush* (*Anne-Mal) Lets get started! I would like to welcome Morpheus, true fan favorite of Fictionmania! (Morpheus) Thank you. It's a pleasure to be here. (*Anne-Mal) Do you have an opening statement? (Morpheus) The waking world is but a dream. Editor's Note: For someone that writes so much, his small statement left us all speechless! (CarrieGore) Whoa. It's a little, er,... slow! (*Anne-Mal) We have to get used to turning off the whisper function that is all! (J) Morpheus, I wonder whether you might discuss the tendency towards didacticism in TG fiction? (Morpheus) Didacticism? (J) Didacticism -- moralizing, e.g. good triumphs over evil. (Morpheus) I just like to see a little justice occur sometimes in stories. Give people what they occasionally deserve. (Paul1954) Morpheus, you apologize frequently that this is not one of your best stories - do you ever re-visit your work? (Morpheus) Occasionally, though not very often. Once I'm done with a story, I like to move on to the next one. (CarrieGore) Morpheus, you're so prolific it's astonishing! How much time per day do you devote to your writing? (Morpheus) It varies from day to day. Both on whether it's a weekend or weekday and if I have any stories to read or not. But usually about an hour a day, sometimes two. (J) Morpheus, your closings are provocative -- reminiscent of Oscar Wilde: Life is a dream that keep me from sleeping (Aesthetics). What do you mean precisely by your closing? (Morpheus) I have always believed in the strength and power of a person's imagination and dreams. Sometimes it seems that the dreams are the true life, while the waking world is something that we just walk through, waiting for the next chance to dream. (*Anne-Mal) About how many stories have you written? (Morpheus) I've never actually counted them, but I think it's over a hundred. (*Anne-Mal) All TG? (Morpheus) Most. My first and earlier stories were SRU without TG. I've also done a couple that are just body swapping, AR and AP without TG. (J) What is your general opinion of the work of your peers? Who are your favourites? Are there any mainstream writers you consider influential? (Morpheus) I enjoy most stories in general, though I think that Raven may be my favorite. As for mainstream, I like Jack Chalker. (Paul1954) You write in a lot of different universes - what's your favourite? (Morpheus) Spells R Us, mostly because of the versatility and variety that's possible. (ranko) Do you spend all your free time with TG fiction or do have other interests? (Morpheus) I do have other interests. I read a lot of SF and fantasy, comic books and several other things. (Stephanie) How much pre-planning goes into each story? Do you know exactly where you're going and how to get there or do you just go where the story takes you? (Morpheus) I have a good idea of what I want or at least some of the basics like method of transformation and sometimes the end. Often though I just wing it as I write. (J) Where did the idea for the rings of reversal come form? And are there any plans on expanding The Great Shift, i.e. writing more stories in that universe. (Morpheus) The reverse rings was just an idea that I came up with while thinking about body swapping. As for the Great Shift, I had a few other stories in mind, but interest in that universe had dropped off, so I never got around to them. I may do some more Great Shift stories in the future, but at the moment I have no real plans to. (CarrieGore) Morpheus, where do you find the motivation to keep writing? You must really love TG fiction! (Morpheus) Actually, I just love stories about human transformation. Turning into other people. Age progression and age regression play a big part of this, but you can't get much further than changing the gender as well. (CleoK) What are the favorite stories you've written, of short and long length? (Morpheus) I'm not really sure which short is my favorite. But as for longer ones, I like "Weird Wednesday" and "Don't Tell Daddy", the most. (Paul1954) Have you any other interests outside of writing? (Morpheus) Definitely. (Paul1954) What are they? (Morpheus) I have numerous interests. Comic books, movies, Magic the Gathering and a few other things. (*Anne-Mal) Your stories are so polished! Does anyone edit for you? (Morpheus) The only stories of mine that I've ever had edited by someone else are the "Justice League Jumble" ones, Steve Zink is doing it for me. All others I do myself. (*Anne-Mal) So how long does it take until you are satisfied with a story? (Morpheus) Honestly, some stories I'm not really satisfied with. Those are the ones I say aren't my best. Mostly though, I only do minimal editing and rewriting after the first draft. (CarrieGore) Morpheus, what would you most like to be remembered for? I know it's a rubbish question! (Morpheus) I'm not really sure. Ending world hunger or creating world peace would be nice, but not very realistic. Any attempt to wish for either with a genie would likely kill everyone on the planet. (Stephanie) When did you first start writing? Was it before or after you got on the net? (Morpheus) I've been writing short stories since I could first write. However, it was only after I got on the net and found Fictionmania that I started writing TG. (Paul1954) Have you ever read a story and wished you'd thought of that? (Morpheus) Not too often. However, I have quite frequently read a story where I planned to write something similar. (Nicole) Morpheus, you and I seem to be in the minority around here that we prefer age- progressions. Why do you favor those kinds of transformations? (Morpheus) Most age alteration stories are age regression and I get a little tired of that. I like to see the other side of it, where the person gets more responsibility from the change. Also, people tend to know about younger people a little, but I like seeing kids and teens discover what adult life is like. (Paul1954) You write a lot about families and the natural tensions that come from them - not autobiographical I hope! (Morpheus) No, not all. I just think that a families dynamics is the perfect place to throw in some change and reversal. (rebel) Morpheus, I really enjoy your reversal ring stories, could you share your thoughts on them? (Morpheus) I enjoy writing them. The Reverse Rings provided a good way to do lots of body swaps, that could easily be used for different characters and different stories. (Kim) Morpheus, some writers tend towards the more titillating embellishments in their fiction. Yet, I've noted that you have a more, for lack of a better word, wholesome outlook in your stories. People seem to be naturally good. If they are antagonistic, as in a mother-son relationship, no one is truly to blame! (Much as in real life.) Is this reflective of your perception of human nature, that we're all "good"? (Morpheus) I frequently write about teens and they tend to be comparatively innocent. But overall, I like to use characters that people will want to feel for. And to show both sides of a story. (PJ_Wright) Quality of proof-reading is often a sign of the caliber of the author. I was wondering; how do you manage to do such a good job of proofing your stories and still stay as prolific as you are? (Morpheus) Actually, I usually do a very limited amount of proofreading. (PJ_Wright) (I *hate* you! :P - just kidding!) (Morpheus) Quick typing and a huge backlog of story ideas. (PJ_Wright) (Proofing is always the drudgery behind the fun of writing for me.) (Paul1954) What's the most creative time of the day for you, just before sleep works for me? (Morpheus) At night, while sitting back and relaxing. Writing helps relax me. (Anna) Your stories seem to be on the shorter side of the average in FM. How do you manage that and still get the point across? (Morpheus) I don't really know. I like to focus first on the character and situation, then shift into the change. That way, I build up a better understanding and let the audience feel for the character before the shit hits the fan. (Paul1954) Have you ever been tempted to collaborate with someone, like with Eric or Raven? (Morpheus) Actually, I've already collaborated with Raven on a story and he is finishing it up before we release it. (Kim) How do you avoid unnecessary exposition and allow the narrative flow to tell itself? Very often I find a story idea I like, but it is mired in exposition -- more telling than showing. How do you keep your narrative from becoming flat? (Morpheus) I try to show it from the characters point of view. Show what they are thinking and feeling about the situation. (Mindy) If this has been asked sorry, I was late getting here. You seem to have a command of the English language, what is the level of your education? (Morpheus) I just do a lot of reading. (Lorna) What are your principle sources of inspiration? Fantasy, Whimsy, Dreams or ideas of others? (Morpheus) All of the above. (Doug) Morpheus, have you ever considered doing a story set in the Sailor Moon universe? (Morpheus) Doug, no I haven't. I've seen the TV series, but have no interest in writing about it. (*Anne-Mal) Is there any subject you wouldn't write about? (Morpheus) Anne-Mal, there are some that I wouldn't write about, though I won't bother to list them. (Paul1954) How are you finding this experience? I found it exhausting, but fun! (Morpheus) Paul, I am enjoying this experience and find it interesting! (Kim) Is there anything we should "take away" from your stories? (Aside from a good read :) (Morpheus) Sometimes I throw in a little moral, though whether you really want to take that away or not depends on you and probably what the moral is. I usually just write to give a good story and sometimes add a little surprise or sense of justice. (*Anne-Mal) Do you get much feedback? (Morpheus) It depends on the stories. For some stories I get incredible amounts of feedback, though for others I barely get a whisper. (Nicole) If you could bodyswap with the woman of your choice what would she be like? (*Anne-Mal) You assume that Morpheus is a man. (Morpheus) You know what they say about assumptions. Yes am male. And if I did swap, it would be with a tall good looking woman, who was somewhat athletic in build and intelligent. (Lisa) Good choice Morpheus! (ranko) Do you view stories as a way to escape from reality? (Morpheus) Yes. And just way to amuse myself. (*Anne-Mal) Authors have talked about how lack of feedback takes away their interest in writing. You certainly have a lot of interest, what is the secret? (Morpheus) An overactive imagination and the fact that a story tends to hound my thoughts until I put it in writing. (*Anne-Mal) May I ask how many are you thinking of now? (Morpheus) I currently have a backlog of over 3 dozen stories. (*Anne-Mal) I feel ill. (Kim) A backlog of 3 dozen? And they're not out? That's sadistic! (Morpheus) Imagine how annoying it is for me, not having the time to clear the clutter from my mind. (*Anne-Mal) So you write many at the same time? (Morpheus) I write my stories one at a time. When one is finished, I start on the next in my backlog. (*Anne-Mal) Have you ever been stumped? (Morpheus) There have been numerous times where I get stumped. I usually break away for a couple hours, sometimes a day or two and the answer comes to me. (*Anne-Mal) I feel really ill! (Morpheus) Take two aspirin and get a good nights sleep. (*Anne-Mal) That might work! I hate to ask this. Where do you get your ideas? (Morpheus) I don't really know. Most of them just come to me and when they do, I usually get about 2 or 3 alternate versions of that which I can use or another story. (*Anne-Mal) Your killing me! (professor) Morpheus, how do you see TG on the net evolving in the next few years? (Morpheus) Professor, I'm not really sure. I've only been here for a year and believe that you never know what's going to happen for sure until it does. (Kim) You mentioned your backlog of 3 dozen. Are these sketched out in a notebook somewhere? Or are they, as you mentioned, "rolled out", written as you go along? And if you have that putative notebook handy, do you mind if I borrow it? :) (Morpheus) I have them written down in a notebook, though only by the title I'm using. That just reminds me of the details that are in my mind. (*Anne-Mal) Okay I am going to open it up ! Remember that Morpheus is still the center of attention! (LizBennett) [Lovely chat, Morpheus -- must leave.] (*Anne-Mal) Do people hate you for writing so fast? (Morpheus) No one's ever said so. (*Anne-Mal) How many words a minute can you type? (Morpheus) I've never actually sat down and measured my speed. (Stephanie) So what did you think when you first found Fictionmania? (Morpheus) I found Sapphire's Place first, but I was quite happy when I found Fictionmania. I'd always been a fan of Jack Chalker, so finding similar stories was nice. (professor) Can one person be attributed to the founding of Fictionmania? (*Anne-Mal) Where did you send your first story? (Morpheus) I didn't start writing stories for the net until after I joined the TG mailing list. That is where I've sent almost all of my stories. My first TG story was "Weird Wednesday", written in January 1998. I didn't post it until last June though. (Stephanie) Young-un, eh! (*Anne-Mal) AHHH!!! You didn't start until recently! (Brad) Morpheus, do you plan on writing another Great Shift story? I was thinking of something along the lines as the Great Shift striking during a Family Reunion. I figured you would be best for this story because you handle family situations very well! (Morpheus) I had considered a GS story in a family reunion, though I'm planning a story called "Family Reunion", that uses a different body swap method. (Brad) All right man, thanx! (Kim) Morpheus) You mentioned earlier in response to a question that your universe has teens that are generally happy. Indeed, in your stories, they are. But I have found the opposite to be true. In fact, I have found more maliciousness among children than I could dream of happening among adults. (Morpheus) I never said teens were happy. Only that they tend to be sexually innocent by comparison to most adults. Kim, you are right. Children and teens can be extremely malicious, self-centered by nature and don't consider the consequences of their actions. (Kim) I guess what I am trying to ask is, is it your personality that imbues your universe with goodness, (note that justice is another leitmotif), even if that is contrary to nature? (Morpheus) Actually, I'm really something of a pessimist. That is why I dream of worlds where justice actually has a place. (Kim) Wow! I would never have guessed that! (Nicole) I was hoping you were going to do more family swapping along gender lines stories, Morpheus! (Morpheus) I will DEFINITELY do more family swaps. About a third of my backlog deals with families in some way. (ranko) Anne-Mal seems to be jealous of your coming up with so many ideas, I would think ideas are the easiest part, do you find the actual writing harder? (Morpheus) For me, the writing is a little harder. It takes up more time than coming up with ideas. (Kim) Well, I would like to thank one and all, particularly, Morpheus, Anne-Mal and Mindy, for their graciousness and genuine good nature. Thank you! (*Anne-Mal) As a fellow comic fan, could you name some titles that are your favorites? (Morpheus) I enjoy the X titles (except X Force which they ruined) and Thunderbolts the most. (*Anne-Mal) Is Sandman one of them? (ranko) Who wrote Sandman? (Stephanie) Neil Gaiman. (ranko) Did he do "Neverwhere"? Editor's Note: "Neverwhere" is a British Fantasy TV Show. He also wrote "Day of the Dead", one of the best episodes of Babylon 5. (Stephanie) Yep! (Morpheus) Actually, I don't read the Sandman comic. I avoid Vertigo. (Stephanie) Really, I read most of their output. "Preacher" and "Invisibles" are especially good. (*Anne-Mal) Do you read anything independent, like "Strangers in Paradise"? (Morpheus) I just don't like the artwork and style of Vertigo. As for "Strangers..." and other independents, it's a case by case basis and usually not. (Nicole) I just want to thank you Morpheus for writing so many enjoyable stories. (Morpheus) Thank you Nicole. (Brad) Me too Morpheus. You the reason I'm writing stories. Thank you very much! (Morpheus) Thank you Brad. (CarrieGore) Morpheus, do you have any ambitions for the future of TG fiction, maybe the mainstream? (Morpheus) I do have ambitions for some mainstream fantasy writing, though not much in the way of TG books. (ranko) You seem to be interested in comics, any other art or literature? (Morpheus) I enjoy mostly science fiction and fantasy books, especially from authors like Jack Chalker, Piers Anthony and a number of others. (CarrieGore) Do you think that the mainstream and TG fiction could ever mix? (Morpheus) Carrie, I'm not really sure, but don't think so. It's too specialized an area. (Stephanie) Do you have an idea for a novel rolling around your mind? (Morpheus) Stephanie, yes I do. I have several and even started writing on one of them before putting it on hold for now. (*Anne-Mal) Have you had anything published in real life? (Morpheus) No I haven't (*Anne-Mal) Now that might be the hardest one to believe! May I ask, have you ever tried? (Morpheus) I haven't tried yet. I wouldn't really now where to begin yet. (*Anne-Mal) Their loss is our joy! (Morpheus) Eventually I hope to finish my book and get it published. (Nicole) How many finished stories are ready for posting, Morpheus? (Morpheus) I post my stories as soon as I finish with them. (ranko) Have you ever thought of writing a comic book? (Morpheus) Ranko, not really. I'm more interested in coming up with the characters and some situations. (*Anne-Mal) Do you think posting to the net has helped you as a writer? (Morpheus) Yes I do. (Nicole) Morpheus did you read the comic "Mantra"? (Morpheus) It was one of my favorites until Marvel screwed it up. Editor's Note: "Mantra" was about a male warrior/mage who was forced to inhabit the body of a woman. Malibu was the original publisher until Marvel bought them out. (Nicole) I agree. (Stephanie) Yeah, that's when I dropped it as well. (Nicole) Mike Barr, the creator, is very good. (CarrieGore) How important do you think the net has been for TG fiction? (Morpheus) Very. I don't think TG fiction would be flourishing nearly as well without the internet. (ranko) Was there any TG fiction before the net? (Stephanie) TG on the net seems to be different than the other types. There seems to be far more Magic/SF here and more CD in the specialist press. (Mindy) Excluding the stories on the TG-list not on Fictionmania. 52% are Magic/SF and 48% are TV/CD stories on Fictionmania. (Paul1954) A lot of is down to confidence I think - you know, knowing others want the same as you. (Morpheus) I agree. And being able to get ideas from others and share your own. (CarrieGore) I think that's the coolest thing! Without the net we wouldn't have a voice or Morpheus! (*Anne-Mal) What about "I Will Fear No Evil", have you read it? (Morpheus) I've read it, but wasn't impressed. (*Anne-Mal) How about "All You Zombies"? (Morpheus) I haven't read that one yet. Still having trouble finding it. But then again, I'm not a Heinlein fan either. (*Anne-Mal) So you at least have one fault! ;) (Morpheus) I'm sure that I have a few others as well. (Nicole) I like when you turn nonsmoking males into smoking females. Can you continue to include that in your stories from time to time? (Morpheus) Nicole, I definitely plan to. (*Anne-Mal) So what words of advise do you have for struggling writers? (Morpheus) Don't push it. Try to see things from your character's points of views and let the story flow. (Paul1954) I agree - empathy helps every time! (ranko) Which is easier to write first person or third person? (Morpheus) It depends on the particular story (Paul1954) Morpheus - thanks for your time - gotta go now - Caio (Morpheus) By Paul. Nice talking with you. (*Anne-Mal) I may be a glutton for punishment. Do you use a spell check much? (Mindy) Has anybody called 911 yet for Anne-Mal??? (Morpheus) Definitely. That's the main source of what editing I do. (SteveZ) He makes good use of his editor! (*Anne-Mal) THANK HEAVENS! You're human! (Morpheus) As yu can sea, I du nead a spel checer Editor's Note- He is not that bad, this is a joke, but I dd nead a checer! (SteveZ) ROTFLMHO! (ranko) Do you consider yourself a very humble or an arrogant writer? (Morpheus) I tend to think of myself as more shy than anything. (*Anne-Mal) Yes, that is a good question. What sort of writer do you feel you are? (Morpheus) Like I said, I'm more of a shy writer. A lot more humble than arrogant. (ranko) So if a bunch of your fans started bothering you for a story, then you'd let them walk all over you and write it? (Morpheus) Nope. If people bothered me for a story, I'd probably just ignore it and continue with my own anyway, unless it coincided with my own interests. But I don't think that's arrogant. (*Anne-Mal) Yes, but what do feel about your stories? Do you like reading them later? (Morpheus) Actually, I almost never go back and read my own stories. I'm too busy reading everyone else's and writing new ones. (ranko) Do you consider your stories to be your children, are you protective of them? (Morpheus) I guess I am protective of my stories to a degree. But then any writer would likely be protective of what they wrote. (Mindy) Are there authors that when you see their new work show up, you read right away? (Morpheus) Mindy, yes. Raven's and Steve's. (SteveZ) I'm blushing! (Morpheus) I just like comic books and comic related stories. (SteveZ) YEAH!!! (Lana) What's your favorite TG movie? (Morpheus) My favorite movie would be "Dr. Jeckyll and Ms Hyde", though my favorite scene would be from "Deathstalker". (Lana) I agree Morpheus, the "Deathstalker" scene was good. I never saw until The Mad Scientist posted the Avi on his site. (ranko) Being a shy person, do you get annoyed by all the attention we're giving you? (Morpheus) Not really at the moment. Chatting anonymously helps a great deal. (ranko) *Big group hug for Morpheus everyone* (*Anne-Mal) I still feel sick, so I will hold off! (ranko) LOL. Do you feel sick because your here with such a big celebrity Anne? (Morpheus) Are you sure you aren't coming down with something? (Mindy) LOL, anybody know CPR here! :) (Lana) I know CPR!!! (ranko) Anne, have you ever written anything? Are you jealous? Don't feel bad, Okay? Because nobody else writes like Morpheus either! (*Anne-Mal) Well, for your next story Morpheus have the two of us body swap so that I can finish everything that I am behind with! (ranko) He's the greatest writer ever! (*Anne-Mal) You have to have another secret!!! What is your favorite food? (Morpheus) Chocolate. (*Anne-Mal) AH HA! Not enough chocolate in my diet!! Just you wait now Eric! (Bashful) Sorry I'm late Morpheus! I like your work. (Morpheus) Thanks Bashful. (Nicole) Morpheus, do you role-play? (Morpheus) I've never role-played on chat and only recently got access to the chat room here. (Debbie) Which of your stories are your favorites? (Morpheus) "Weird Wednesday", "Don't Tell Daddy" and "The Switch or My Sisters Body". (Doug) Have you ever considered a story set in a sport like figure skating? Like the "Cutting Edge" Universe. (Morpheus) Doug, not really. (Bashful) Where do your stories come from? (Morpheus) Bashful, from anywhere and everywhere. (ranko) How would you compare your talent to other Fictionmania authors? (Morpheus) I try not to. (*Anne-Mal) Here is a hard one. Does Steve edit or write better? (Debbie) (I'm glad that Morpheus has to answer that question!) (Morpheus) He's only been editing the numerous chapters of the one story for me, so I'll go with writing. (Debbie) (But I will say that Steve is a terrific editor!) (Morpheus) I won't argue. (ranko) So you base your characters on real people? (Morpheus) Sometimes. (ranko) How do you make up your characters? (Morpheus) I just think about what kind of character would be the most interesting in the story I'm writing and usually go with one that is a little ordinary or sympathetic to the readers. (Stephanie) It's been great fun, but I have to go. It's been good to talk with you, Morpheus and I hope to see many more excellent stories from you! (Morpheus) Bye Stephanie. (Mindy) If you could get paid to write TG fiction on a full-time basis, would you quit your job and accept the challenge? (Morpheus) Mindy, not really. (Debbie) Why wouldn't you write TG fiction full-time if it paid well enough? (Morpheus) I'd wear my fingers off writing too much, though I'd definitely be tempted. (Debbie) I would, if it paid well enough. Sadly, it doesn't. (Morpheus) I also don't like to mix business and pleasure too much. (ranko) Some people write professionally and still have fingers! (Morpheus) If leisure becomes business, it's no longer leisure. (Debbie) Maslov's Hierarchy would call working at what you consider leisure to be the ultimate in self-actualization. (Morpheus) Debbie, maybe, but then again, it would add additional stress instead of letting me do it at my own comfortable pace. (ranko) Would you stab us all in the back and sell all your stories if you got the chance to? (Morpheus) Ranko, perhaps, though I don't think that I'm likely to get much of a chance to do that. (Debbie) Like I said, writing TG fiction for money doesn't pay all that well. (Morpheus) Debbie, I certainly didn't expect it too. The customer base is too limited. (Lana) Have you ever done any research into mythology or science or parapsychology in order to come up with ways to explain a transformation or bodyswap for a story? (Morpheus) Lana, I've done a little research into mythology, though not really for any stories. (*Anne-Mal) Can you say how you came up with your name? (Morpheus) Anne-Mal, Yes I can. First off, I have always been a day-dreamer. I'm also a fan of mythology. The original Morpheus' name literally meant "He who shapes" or "He who changes". Also, the original Morpheus was not just the god of Dreams, but was a shape shifter able to take on the form of any human being. (Andy) Is there a fundamental difference in approach to a story where the transformer is the sympathetic character, instead of the transformed? (Morpheus) Andy, I believe that there is, though I prefer to focus on the transformee (Bashful) How much time in a week do you spend writing? (Morpheus) Bashful, I don't really know. It varies greatly depending on how much free time I get and what kind of mood I'm in. (Lana) Do you think the internet is hurting book sales? I know Chalker seems depressed about the industry lately. The Barnes & Nobel and Amazon internet stocks are both down. (Morpheus) Lana, A little bit. I know that I've been reading more from the net than from books lately. (Lana) Still, I much prefer to cozy up with a book instead of sitting in front of a monitor with my finger on the scroll button. (Morpheus) Lana, I agree, but there are so many stories that I've pulled from the net by good authors and I just want to finish them. (Bashful) A poll, on the Fictionmania voting page, asked if people read on line or download to read later. When I looked at the results, only about 25 % were downloading to print and read later. (Morpheus) Of course, it takes up less net time and you can read at your own convenience. (Bashful) Do you ever get writers block? (Morpheus) Bashful, yep. I sometimes have to wait a couple days for it to clear so that I can finish the story. A couple times I've even had to star the story over. Usually though the story comes on it's own, so writers block is no problem. (*Anne-Mal) I am closing my eyes for this one. Have you ever done stories under a different name? (Morpheus) Anne-Mal, No I haven't. At least not on the net. (Debbie) What one unfinished story by another author would you like to finish? (Morpheus) I don't want to finish stories from other authors. I can't get into the story flow quite the same and feel like an intruder for even trying. (Lana) Would you ever consider writing a screenplay? (Morpheus) Lana, maybe, though I wouldn't want to the hassle of dealing with all the crooks in Hollywood. (Debbie) I think you are a terrific writer and I treasure the swap story you wrote for me. (Morpheus) Thank you Debbie. NO one else but you has even seen that story (Bashful) Post it Debbie, share it with the net! Editor's Note: Yeah, share it with the rest of us! (Nicole) Debbie what was the story about? (Debbie) Morpheus wrote a wonderful story for me as part of an exchange....I love it...it's a great story (*Anne-Mal) AH HA! You do take payment for stories! (Morpheus) Only as story swaps. (Nicole) I'd pay you to write a story for me! (Morpheus) Like I said, I only do it as a story swap and then only rarely. When I'm tired of writing my own stories and looking to try something a little different. (*Anne-Mal) Do contests inspire you? (Morpheus) Sometimes, though not too often. I sometimes try my hand at them though just to try something a little different. (Debbie) Will we see "Vickie Versa" revisited? (Morpheus) I'd originally planned a sequel to "Vicki", but the story wasn't very well received, so the sequel was dropped to the bottom of my backlog. (Debbie) I thought it was a great story! (Bashful) Me too! (Morpheus) Thank you Debbie and Bashful. I however have to admit that though the idea had promise, I don't think that I carried through with it very well. (Bashful) I have to, uh oh, run Morph. Bye! (Morpheus) Bye Bashful (*Anne-Mal) I have been told that you have about 15 stories waiting to be posted to Fictionmania! Does that discourage you? (Morpheus) Anne-Mal, not really. Most of my stories are written for the TG-List. (*Anne-Mal) You know I have another reason to be annoyed at you besides the fact that you write so fast! (Morpheus) What's that? (Debbie) (Anne-Mal is easily annoyed!) (Just kidding!) (*Anne-Mal) No one else wanted to do a chat night after Raven, until you got your night! (Morpheus) Really? (*Anne-Mal) I really had to talk people into it! (Morpheus) I know. (Mindy) About how many comments do you get about your stories? (Morpheus) Mindy, it depends on the number of stories that I write. Sometimes I only get one or two comments for a story and sometimes I've gotten up to a dozen or more. (Debbie) Isn't the feedback wonderful though? (Morpheus) Yes it is. Fuel for the ego. (*Anne-Mal) Yes, could you describe how you felt after getting one for your first story? (Morpheus) Proud that people had liked my story. (Debbie) What would you do if you came across the real Medallion of Zulo? (Morpheus) Be very careful since it has a habit of disappearing when you don't want it to. (Debbie) :) Aside from handling it very carefully, what would you do? (*Anne-Mal) Steal something of Morpheus' and use it myself! (Morpheus) I'd play around with becoming different people. (Doug) Such as? (Morpheus) Doug, a variety. I like to try to see things from other peoples points of view. (Debbie) Any particular person or people you'd want to become with the Medallion of Zulo? (Morpheus) Debbie, yes, though not permanently. Not until I had a better idea of the life I'd be getting into. (Debbie) Anyone famous you'd want to try being? (Morpheus) There's a couple famous actors and actresses I wouldn't mind trying for awhile. (Doug) Like who for instance? (Morpheus) Maybe Schwarzenegger to see what it's like being that muscular. But also maybe Gina Davis, Uma Thurman or a large number of others. (Mindy) Being shy, do you get upset when you get dragged into the Allies Vs the Axis "war" on the You Write Random Title Images? (Morpheus) Mindy, I've only really been mentioned on one of the pics that I know of. (*Anne-Mal) OH NO! I hope that Mandy didn't hear that! (Mindy) What if somebody pokes good fun at one of your stories? (Morpheus) I don't mind. (*Anne-Mal) What is your general feeling about the Fictionmania site? (Morpheus) I like it. It's got huge variety and it's very well organized. (Debbie) Fictionmania Rocks!! (Morpheus) Fictionmania is the best place to get stories from this sub-genre. (Nicole) Can you give us a preview of some of your upcoming stories? Tell us what some of them are about? (Morpheus) Nicole, I usually don't like giving out previews. It makes me feel like I'm committing myself to which story I'm going to write next, when sometimes my mood changes or something else almost demands to be written first. (Nicole) I understand. Its just that I'm a really big fan and look forward to your work! (*Anne-Mal) How about just the title of your next work? (Morpheus) Currently, I'm just working on the rest of "Justice League Jumble" and I do have my next two stories already decided. Unless I change my mind. One of those will be called "Summer Camp" and the other one I haven't decided on the title yet. (Doug) How many parts will "Justice League Jumble" will run for? (Morpheus) It will be only 8 or 9 chapters total. (Debbie) Will the evil Anne-Mal be sent off to TG Summer Camp? Editor's Note: Not evil, just wicked! (*Anne-Mal) Maybe TG Writing Camp! (Debbie) I need to go to TG Writing Camp! (Mindy) Morpheus anything happen here today that might inspire a story. A story around this chat or the just mentioned TG Writing Camp? (Morpheus) Mindy, not yet, but I have got a couple small seeds which may grow. (*Anne-Mal) Did you make up your catch phrase or find it else where? (Morpheus) It's entirely mine. (*Anne-Mal) (He never quits!) (Morpheus) I'm gonna have to go here soon. This has taken a little longer than I'd expected and I have something else that I need to get done. (*Anne-Mal) No, I just meant that you never stop coming up with ideas! (Nicole) When you were younger did you fantasize about being an older woman, one that you knew? I ask that because of your preference to AP transformations. (Morpheus) Nicole, sort of. Though I'd only been writing TG for a year, I'd always wondered what it would like to turn into other people, women included or especially. And when I was a kid, I always wondered what it would be like to be an adult woman. That fantasy never quite left me. (Nicole) I fantasized about being an adult woman too when I was a kid. She was like, but not my mother. The fantasy is with me still. One of the many reasons I like your work. (*Anne-Mal) Are you worried that Mindy will run out of space for all your stories? (Morpheus) Anne-Mal, sort of. (*Anne-Mal) Should she just start calling it Morpheusmania? (Morpheus) No, I really don't' think that name would fit. I have considered trying to open my own web page though. (Doug) That would be a great name for your web page! (Lana) Morpheus.com! (Morpheus) Actually, If I did start my own site, it would more likely just be called The House of Dreams. (*Anne-Mal) Ah! I should talk to Wendy about this! This might keep her busy! (Morpheus) However, as of yet it's own thought with no substance behind it. (Lana) Have you ever had Lucid Dreams? (Morpheus) Lana, sometimes. (Lana) I have been successful with Lucid dreaming and it's Way Cool, almost like being in a movie, but not any success with OBBEs. Have you? (Morpheus) It's not something that I've really tried. (*Anne-Mal) I have to close the log, but I have to ask one last question. (Morpheus) What's that? (Mindy) (Anne-Mal Impostor) Will you finish Archie and Betty for me? :) (*Anne-Mal) MOM! (Mindy) Hehehe! (*Anne-Mal) What got you to start writing TG stories in the first place? (Morpheus) I was reading transformation stories of all kinds and stared writing a few of different types to experiment. When I got to the TG one, it was the most fun that I had writing, so I kept up with it. I haven't had too many other places to post my other stories, so I focused on these ones. (*Anne-Mal) But what gave you the courage to actually post it? (Morpheus) Curiosity to see what other people thought of it and just wanting to contribute to the list. (*Anne-Mal) In other words, sharing! (Morpheus) Or just clearing the clutter out of my head. (*Anne-Mal) Does it help? (Morpheus) Yes. Once I write a story and show it to someone else, it lets me clear some of that out and I can focus on what's next. (*Anne-Mal) So you are still full of it! :) (Morpheus) Yep. (*Anne-Mal) On that note I think I will close the log! (Morpheus) All right then. Since I've got to get going anyway, I'll say good bye. (Mindy) Thanks a ton Morpheus for taking the time and sharing with us today! (Nicole) Thanks again for the chat and many great stories! (Mindy) This took 3 hours 20 minutes! You have the most stories on Fictionmania and the longest chat! (Morpheus) No problem. Glad I could come. (Nicole) * applause, standing ovation* (Morpheus) Pleasant dreams everyone. Bye now. (*Anne-Mal) The longer I keep you talking the easier it is for me to catch up! (Morpheus) Thank you all for coming, I appreciate the full house and all your support. The waking world is but a dream. End of chat.

Chatting bring mother and son together

I used to spend a lot of time on the computer in our house because of work. But as my son Nikhil started growing up, he started getting interested in the computer too. Initially, he would wait patiently, but grudgingly for me to finish with the computer, before he could start working on it. But by the time he became 16 years old, he became more demanding. And kept saying that he needed the computer more than me, as he had to use it to discuss his school homework with his classmates over the...

Chatting with my stepsister

A while after watching my stepsister play with her cunt in her bed, I found myself chatting to her one afternoon while we were home alone. Our parents were out at a show and her and I were having a drink together. Our conversation soon went sexual for some reason and we both felt rather comfortable with each other to talk about our sexual experiences. She soon asked me if I have any fetishes and I replied yes and asked if she had any. She to said she does and asked if I could tell her mine...

Chatting at the Office

Jessica always wore nice but conservative clothes to work.   They didn’t do much to show off what looked like an incredible body, but didn’t necessarily hide it either.   I’d walk by her desk several times a day jus to get a whiff of her perfume or a glance at her cleavage or her neck. We were civil to each other, even friendly, but we rarely went past that professional barrier.   I’d laugh and kid around or at least I’d try, and she didn’t seem to mind the occasional joke that was a bit off,...

Chatting With A Stranger

The Internet is an amazing thing. It can take us anywhere in an instant. It can take us to amazing sensual heights, or to our darkest deepest fantasies. I suppose that's how my story started. I still can't decide whether it's an amazing sensual height, or if it's a deep dark fantasy. I guess I should start by telling you a little about myself. I'm 23 years old, white, five foot six inches tall. I have dirty blonde hair, and green eyes. I'm pretty busty, and feel somewhat sexy with my...

Chatting brings mother and son together

Jyoti was clinging onto me as she danced. Once in a while in between we would kiss. Her pallu had fallen down revealing her fair smooth waist and jutting breasts. Even some of the other guys, dancing with their partners couldn’t help but steal a glance at my wife. My wife had her eyes semi-closed and was gyrating sensuously, oblivious to the rest.of the crowd. I set my plans into motion.. I quietly took out a red rose from my pocket and put it inside her purse. She was so drunk she didn’t even...

Chatting with Steve Zink

Authors Chat Night: Guest Steve Zink On Wednesday May 19, 1999 at 6 PM PST Edited by Anne-Mal Before the chat begins we socialize a bit. (*Anne-Mal) So how did the meal turn out after last night's chat, Liz? (regal) Oh yes, you made me hungry. (LizBennett) Well, it's embarrassing to say. You see, I did not read the label carefully enough. (regal) That bad? (LizBennett) I thought I was rotisseriing a chicken, but the label *actually* said, "stewing hen." It was as tough...

big black cock and maried withe woman

The third person I ever had sex with was my husband so you couldn’t call me promiscuous. I lost my virginity aged 18 during a drunken student party and I was not at all impressed with the whole sex thing. The second man came along two years later; he was my first long term love, well a few months anyway. Then there was Paul, we dated; we got engaged and eventually married. I didn’t know and didn’t care if our sex life was good or not, it was good enough for me. We had and still do have sex...

Big fun withe the young bartender

So we went at a nice hotel in town, just a night away for a dinner and some fun. Away from home and the routine. We Rented a suite on the 10th floor and intended to just relax away the day and night We checked out the bar and took a seat in a leather ensconsed booth which was very cozy and private. I got a couple of drinks from, and made some small talk with the bartender. A nice guy about 25 yrs. old. It was early, about 4pm and we had the place to ourselves As I sat in our booth I noticed him...

The United Kingdom of Zoo A fake BBC documentary seriesS12E19 Emma Withe 54 from Oakham

We fade in in the middle of a quiet street, in the low-rise central area of a small midlands town, with one and two story buildings around us. To one side, a long flat warehouse/factory type unit, stocking and fitting tyres for local drivers, to the other, the town’s train station. Looking like a traditional old station, but rebuilt fairly recently. There’s a small car park between us and the station, and it’s almost full. We watch as a car drives down the road toward us, then turns into the...

A construction superintendant has a threesome wwith a fourteen year old girl and her boyfriend

As a construction supervisor I meet all sorts of subcontractors. Working on a Saturday is not uncommon and often the subs bring their teenage sons along to learn the trade. This was the case when I met Dillon. Now I am a straight male but even I have to admit this boy was cute. Small boned, brown wavy hair to his shoulders, blue eyes and an engaging smile. At lunch time Dillon found me in the construction trailer and asked if he could talk to me. “Sure,” I said pushing a chair towards him. He...

Coquette and her cuckold Part 1with paragraphs

Part 1 I had already experienced a number of threesomes in the past with my wife, about four I think. They had always excited me, I’d always got harder and lasted longer than at any other time we had sex together. I never analysed it very much at the time, about why it turned me on so much. I just knew it was going to be one of the most arousing nights of sex I was likely to enjoy – apart from one time when Julie seemed to be interested only in the guy we were with and I felt very much...

Sunnydayzwithu

He was looking forward to going to Verna. It could only be for a limited time but there would be other visits. Even traveling a considerable distance, he thought it well worth the time, there was no sacrifice. Eventually, Verna started to come into view, he slowed his approach and savoured the anticipation, smiling at the butterfly sensation in his stomach. With all the thoughts, feelings and emotions during his advance he neglected to observe one very crucial thing. A mistake was made, a major...

The Beckwith Affair chap 4

August 7 th , 8:00 a.m. Los Angeles “Maggie, I want to go over what we have so far,” I said. “Beckey has a warehouse where she is importing dolls filled with pure cocaine from Bolivia.   These dolls are not going through customs and are being delivered in small packages and probably to different locations.   We don’t know how the money is being transferred but it’s probably cash all the way, and likely being transferred to the ship at the same time the dolls are picked up.” “Alan has gone to...

The Beckwith Affair Chap 1

August 3 rd , 10:05 a.m. “Robert Eyestone, private investigations, this is Maggie, how can I help you?” “Is Mr. Eyestone in?” the voice on the phone asked. “He is not in at the moment, can I get your name and number and have him call you?” asked Maggie. “Please, this is Mrs. Beckwith, of Beckwith Importers.   My number is 310-555-7600.” “He will call you as soon as he is able.   Thank you Mrs. Beckwith.”   “Hello, is this Mr. Eyestone?” asked Mrs. Beckwith. “Yes it is, how did you know it...

The Beckwith Affair Chap 5

Alan picked up the phone and called the front desk and told them he was checking out and asked if they could send someone up right away with the bill. He began throwing his things together almost frantically, his mind racing as he packed. “If they don’t know I’m on to them they won’t be expecting me to leave right away,” he thought. His plan was to pay cash when the bill was brought up and avoid the lobby when leaving the hotel.   Then he remembered Savanna.   He ran to the door, opened it...

The Beckwith Affair Chap 3

I went back to the office to find out what Maggie had for me.   I needed more pieces to the puzzle and without going to Mexico to talk to Alan, Maggie was all I had at the moment. It was not yet 5:00 and Maggie was still at her desk typing into the computer.   Without looking up she handed me a folder. “The list of properties you asked for,” she said. I took the file into my office and began to look it over.   I discovered that the condo that Alan lived in was owned by Beckwith Importers.  ...

August 5 th , 8:20 a.m. I went into the office early the next morning, anxious to get to work on the Beckwith case.   As I entered the office I found Maggie at her desk.   “Maggie, I need you to do your thing for me,” I said.   “Alan Jankowski, we need to find him.   Check for arrests, the morgue, hospitals, etc.   Check planes, buses, trains, cruise ships, even rental car agencies.   I suspect he is not dead but don’t leave any stone uncovered. I’m going to be out most of the day checking...

CaughtWith MyPants Down

When they walked in the unlocked door, I froze like a deer caught in headlights. Although Carol was my girlfriend and we had great sex, I still enjoyed my closet dressing. Well one afternoon when no one was around, I took a bubble bath and pampered myself. Then I dressed entirely in Carol’s lingerie and sexiest short skirt. I was feeling sexy when in through the unlocked front door, Carol and her sister walked in, I couldn’t say or move a muscle. Carol and her sister just casually...

Football Saturdaywith Anna Missy

I met Missy when we were paired up to study my nursing class and we immediately became friends. On Fridays some of the class would meet up for happy hour and she brought along her room mate Anna. They are both beautiful, dark haired girls with perfect athletic bodies that I envied, as I am more on the thin side. We would always have fun as we got to know each but when my boyfriend and his friends would arrive they would leave soon after. I was telling Missy one afternoon that a couple of BF's...

My first timewith Mrs Jensen

Growing up in the neighborhood we all had a thing for Mrs. Jansen. Besides the fact that she was unbelievably sweet, she was also drop dead gorgeous. I would often find myself staring at her sunbathe in the afternoon and would often fantasize about her before I go to bed. With Mr Jansen working many hours I would always offer to help Mrs Jansen with some things around the house like carry heavy boxes, rake the yard, and move her furniture around. During my junior year, I was eager to go to the...
