Wish Shift: Chapter Nine Confrontation Year 1 A.S. Day 47 Kira and Dianne held Jenny and rocked her as her screams ebbed and faded into sobs then into soft painful moans. The entire time Dianne was stroking her hair and making soothing sounds and telling Jenny that they were here for her. When she mostly stopped shaking, Dianne asked Kira to go into the little kitchen and brew her some tea. She continued holding her as the color slowly returned to her face and the trembling passed into faint jerks and twitches. When she thought Jenny was calm enough to answer her, she asked her what had brought on her screaming. Jenny didn't want to tell Dianne everything, it was still too much to take in. She told her a half-truth. She told her that the dream was mostly about the Panama jump and that in it her parachute had failed like it had on her last jump. She told her about falling helplessly to the ground and seeing it rising up to strike her just before she woke. Dianne asked Jenny if she would be alright for a few minutes while she went into the kitchen to check with Kira about the tea. Jenny nodded that she would be and Dianne gently let her go. She looked back quickly at Jenny just before she left the room. She was still a little pale and her oversize t-shirt was soaked from terror-sweat and tears, but she thought she would be alright for a couple of minutes. She went into the cramped kitchen and asked Kira if the tea was ready yet. Kira pointed to the water just beginning to boil and asked her if Jenny had said anything about it yet. Dianne nodded her head. "She had a nightmare." "I know she had a nightmare," Kira said, "the whole neighborhood knows she had a nightmare. She woke us up and we were outside. How bad was it?" "It was bad," she said. "She had a flashback to something that happened on the Panama jump." "Oh Jesus," Kira said, "as if she doesn't have enough on her already, she has this too?" Dianne turned off the water when it started to boil and poured some in a mug. She dipped the tea bag in and let the tea begin to steep. "You go back to sleep Kira," she said. "I'll stay with her until she can get back to sleep." "I'm not sure I should," she said. "I can just stay back there as well." "Her room is small enough as it is and she'll need you tomorrow. I can get some sleep after you guys leave. It's be alright." "You sure?" Kira asked. Dianne nodded and waved to the door. "We'll be fine," she said. Kira handed her the sugar and squeezed around her. She leaned over and kissed Dianne on the cheek and whispered thanks. On the way out the door she paused and turned around. "It's so easy to get wrapped up in how all of this is tearing everything up. We forget all the scary things from before as well," she said. She stepped outside and closed the door. Dianne took the tea back to Jenny and held her while she drank it. This was not a time for talk, so she just stayed there and let Jenny feel her by her side until she relaxed enough to finally slide eventually back to sleep. Dianne kept holding her but she didn't sleep. She held her close and if she moved she made shushing sounds and stroked her hair. She didn't know when she did fall asleep but she knew she had when she opened her eyes and saw light streaming through the window. Jenny was still motionless in her arms. Her regular breathing soft against Dianne. Dianne carefully slid away from her and quietly slipped out of the room to see if Kira was awake yet. She was. She had already called Danny and Sam to let them know what had happened when she was certain about them being awake. Their reaction to the news of Jenny's night terrors was much the same as Kira's and they started to make plans to stay longer. Kira told them that it was under control and that they were going to see if Jenny could move up her appointment with Dr. Warren. Kira reminded them that she and Dianne were going to still be there for a few more days and that they should maybe delay leaving a couple of hours if Jenny asked for them. They reluctantly agreed. ------------------------------------------------------------ Year 1 A.S. Day 47 She contacted Dr. Warren and told him as much as she knew and he agreed that it would be a good idea for her to come in. He told Kira that he would attend to informing Dr. Min and Dr. Nakamura that there would be some delay. They let her sleep as long as she could. For Jenny it was a long time. It was practically nine when she started stirring. Kira and Dianne were careful to support her as much as possible without trying to make her feel like an invalid. Once she spoke with Dr. Warren, whatever he said had seemed to have done some good as well. Within a day or so she was close to being as they had come to know her, but she was still a little quiet. -------------------------------------------------------------- Year 1 A.S. Day 54 The day before they had to leave Jenny had another appointment with Dr. Pritchart and Dr. Waverly. When they started to get ready to go with her, she said that she would like to go alone this time and that she would be all right. She looked like she was all right. She walked out to the car wearing one of her few remaining pairs of jeans, a light t-shirt and a lightweight coat that went mid way down her thighs. She pulled herself up into the truck, cranked the engine and drove away. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Year 1 A.S. Day 54 He watched the big black truck pull into the Medical Park. He had seen the pretty Chinese girl in that before. It had almost become as familiar in the area as she had. A lot more people knew her by sight now from constantly seeing her here going to various doctors. All of the previous times she had always had either the black woman or the shorter blonde with her, but today she was alone for a change. He picked up the phone and called and told him that they needed to take care of it today. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Year 1 A.S. Day 54 Jenny visited Dr. Pritchart first, there hadn't been much difference in her medically so he told her that she was fine and he would see her the next time. After that she went to see Dr. Waverly. After giving Jenny some more advice about how her condition was developing and some of the things she could expect in the next couple of weeks, she wheeled the ultrasound in and had another go at the twins. As she froze the frame and printed out the picture she told Jenny what she had found and that both of them were still developing normally and she had nothing to worry about. Jenny tucked the picture into one of the outside pockets in her murse and left for some lunch before meeting with Dr. Min and Nakamura that afternoon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Year 1 A.S. Day 54 He watched her when she went into Bob's. Bob had taken a shine to the petite woman and had periodically come over to talk with her when she stopped in. His buddy had come in just before she finished and looked her over closely as she walked out from Bob's after she got something to eat. "That's a fine little piece of woman there," he said watching her swing into the big truck. "She's got good taste in trucks too," he said. They watched her turn the truck down the access road and head to the big institute at the edge of the park. "So when we doing this?" he asked. "It'll be a couple of hours," he said. "She usually spends about that long down there." "Ok, tell me how you want to do this." ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Year 1 A.S. Day 54 Jenny finished up with Dr. Min. She was surprised so far at how well Jenny was doing. Apparently Dr. Min was on to something. She had already started speaking with her in simple terms like you would to a small child and Jenny seemed to be able to retain more than when she had seriously attempted to learn as James. The first test that they did was on the set of cards she had worked on through the first day. Surprisingly for them both she was able to answer a few that she had missed before. Dr. Min was very insistent that she not use any form of study or study aid; otherwise it would corrupt their results. Jenny told her of the involuntary thoughts that she kept having and Dr. Min found that particularly interesting, but told her not to worry about it when it happened. She spent a little time going over how it happened with Jenny trying to isolate specific triggers and finally told her they just didn't have enough data yet and asked her to keep noting when it happened. It was mid afternoon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Year 1 A.S. Day 54 She was walking to the truck when she felt rather than saw the two men. One of them was fairly short, but a little overweight. He was taller than her by about four inches she thought. The other was a bit lanky, but he was not that much taller than his friend. They walked across the street toward the little Chinese woman. There weren't many people around and those that were, were focused on what was on their minds. He knew what they were supposed to do, but he also knew what they had been told specifically. "Remember, Brother Paul said to be rough," the taller one said. "I didn't know we were going that far," he said. "Well we are," he whispered back. "Hey pretty!" he suddenly said loudly. Jenny started to tense when the first one started shouting at her. She forced herself to be calm. She knew that lots of women were terrified at this kind of thing happening, maybe all of them and they had damned good reason to be. She knew she should be feeling more fear than she was, but she also recognized what else she was feeling. The big one was coming at her faster. "Hey baby, I just wanna talk," he said, trying to sound like he wasn't making the threat he was. "I don't want to talk to you," she said firmly. "Go away." She started to shift her path to cut across if she needed to so she could reach her truck. "I don't think she's being friendly," the other one said. "Maybe we should show her how to be friendly?" "Go away," she said again. "She speaks good English for a fucking gook. Maybe after she learns to be nice to us, we can let her stay in our country? What you think bro?" The other one, the shorter one nodded his head as he started to move to where he could cut her off if she ran. "She's probably one of those half- bitches, don't know her place yet," he said, looking her over with a greasy lustful look that made her skin want to crawl into a bleach shower. "Oh I'm sure she can learn, she just needs some real men who can show a little half-bitch gook the right way to treat 'em," he looked Jenny in the eyes. "And once we show you, you ain't never gonna want to be anything else," he said with an evil smile. Jenny felt herself go loose, this was gonna happen. She could feel it coming, a familiar wave, just like before. She moved a little closer to where she wanted to be, while they continued to talk about what they were going to do with her. "Last chance, guys," she said. "Walk away." "Oh we'll walk away you fuckin' little gook, but after we do you, you gonna be walking bowlegged for a week and lovin' every minute of it." "Just like a little half-bitch should," the other one chimed in. There was no getting out of this and she didn't want to. She took a deep breath to center herself and deliberately turned away. She reached out with every sense she had and waited for what was coming and called back at them over her shoulder. Fucking gook? Don't you mean fucking chink? Get your rice eaters straight you lazy fucks. Her eyes narrowed and she waited. "Lazy fuck!? I'll show you a lazy fuck, you half-bitch," the bigger one screamed at her. Jenny heard fast footsteps coming, waited for half a breath, dropped her murse and spun on one foot and put her leather boot hard into his face with a quick snap kick. He staggered back, recovered and then lunged fast toward her. She spun under his clumsy lunge. Her left elbow jabbed like a baton into his solar plexus and she spun again under his arm and applied just enough leverage for him to flip forward and sprawl on the pavement. Her foot came down in a sharp vicious strike on his diaphragm and he went purple and gasped for breath. One down she thought with grim satisfaction. The other man was a little shorter and he was hesitating. She moved on him before he could make a decision and struck him sharp in the throat with fingers extended like a knife. Her fingers collapsed back into a fist and hammered his trachea. He choked and bent over at the force of the blow, she grabbed his head and used his downward movement to force his head down to connect with her rising knee. His nose broke against her kneecap. He sputtered obscenities, but she kept laying into him, keeping him off balance with rapid kicks to the gut. She pushed him off onto the pavement, backed up to the brick building wall and turned back to the first man, who was just getting his breath back and rising to his feet. Whatever had been in his gaze when he looked at her before was gone now, it was replaced now by a burning murderous intent. Her hand darted to the 9mm Beretta she wore in the shoulder holster under her coat. Her body moved into firing position, her thumb flicking off the safety and then cocked the hammer the instant she leveled it center mass. She flicked her eyes rapidly between the two men ready to put down the first one who would make a threatening move. "You shits need to walk away now," she said packing as much lethality as she could into the emotionless sentence. She hoped they wouldn't. The taller of the two came to a sharp stop, while the one on the ground just looked up at her mumbling more curses at her through his blood streaked lips. The hatred and anger in the first one's eyes was still blazing, but there was hesitation there now. They'd expected to see fear, adrenaline induced shaking, something that would indicate that the small woman was barely in control of herself despite momentarily gaining an advantage. They didn't see any of that. The woman held the pistol rock steady, her voice held no tremor of fear, only icy resolve. The flicker of her glances as she flashed over them were not the anxious eye movement of trapped prey, but those of a hunter seeking a target. The one standing started to raise his hands and back away. Death was only a few pounds of trigger pull away from them and looking into those dark eyes he knew that she would drop them both with no remorse. The muzzle of the Beretta flicked upwards as she readjusted her aim from his chest to between his eyes. "Now," she said flatly. The black hole of the muzzle grew large in the man's sight. He began backing away in earnest. She saw a flicker of movement come into her field of view and began shifting to engage the new target. It was one of the guys she had seen in the parking lot just before these two had jumped her. He swung an aluminum baseball bat hard into the man's back and then used the backswing to arc into the back of his knees to put him down on the ground again. The second man forgot about Jenny and tried to get to his feet to meet the man, but the newcomer jammed the bat hard into his gut and the man folded. A few well placed swings had both of them lying bloodied on the sidewalk. The man backed off to one side of her, keeping her out of the range of his bat. "Are you ok miss?" he asked. "I'm good," Jenny said keeping the motionless men covered. "I really am," she thought. "God I needed this." She looked at him for a moment half expecting him to turn on her the moment she dropped her guard, but he was not even looking at her. His gaze was firmly fixed on the two men on the ground and he was holding the bat so as to lay into them if they even hinted at moving. He looked around the street, some of the people on the street who had been farther away were starting to come closer and mill around. The threat was over so they were coming out to see what was going to happen or they had just noticed. "We need to get you away from here miss," he said. "These assholes probably have some friends around here somewhere." Jenny flicked on the safety and raised the Beretta skyward before easing the hammer down. "My vehicle is around the corner," she said. "I'll walk you there," he said. "Sorry about not jumping in earlier, I got my bat out of the car as fast as I could." Jenny backed down the street a few meters before holstering the pistol. She knelt quickly and picked up her murse and started to walk away. The man kept his distance, but followed close behind her. "Jesus, you beat the crap out of those two pricks," he said. "My buddy Jorge does a lot of work with a women's self defense group but that was something else," he continued admiringly. Jenny's black Silverado came into sight. She stopped and looked back at him. "This is mine," she said. He stopped as well and put the bat down on the sidewalk before reaching into his wallet and coming out with a business card. "I'm Derek, Derek Peterson," he said slowly extending the card to her. "When you go to the cops to file a report, they can get hold of me here. I saw everything. You got nothing to worry about if those assholes start saying you jumped them later." Jenny took the card and slipped it into her jeans pocket and opened the truck door and slid behind the wheel. "Fuckers are lucky I didn't just kill them," she said. She looked at him again. "Jenny Minton," she said, "but I used to be James. Thanks for the assist Derek." But the flat way she said it didn't seem to convey gratitude, more like an acknowledgement that he was there. Derek nodded back to her, not saying anything. From someone else he might have thought that they were just saying that, but he saw the way she was looking at them when she had them zeroed. She would have done it. He watching her start the engine, back up and then drive away. He reached down for his bat as she drove away and then turned back to the way they had come. "Damn, that's a dangerous woman," he said to himself. He gripped the handle of the bat tighter the closer he got to where they left the two men. They were gone when he came around the corner. A couple of people pointed out where they ran off to. He saw something dark and square on the blood streaked pavement near where she dropped her purse. He leaned over and picked it up. He recognized the hazy image. It was an ultrasound photo. "Oh shit," he said to himself and scowled in the direction the two men had ran in. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Year 1 A.S. Day 54 "Oh hell. I know that look," Kira said when Jenny came into the trailer. "What happened?" she demanded. "What is it?" Dianne asked seeing the look on Jenny's face. She couldn't recall ever seeing anything like it even when Jenny had been James. "Who the fuck was it and what the hell happened?" Kira demanded again. "What is going on?" Dianne kept asking. She hadn't seen Kira like this with Jenny either. "Some dumb bastard went and flipped on Jenny's 'I'm gonna fuck you up' switch and cranked it all the way up to eleven is what happened," she said watching her sister. Jenny started to quietly tell them both what had happened, how they were plainly going to at the least rape her. And how she took care of it. When she finished going over the details, Kira looked at her. "Have you lost your mind? Did you even stop to think about what the hell you were doing?" "I handled it," Jenny said in a low voice. "It's over." "Oh no, it isn't over," Kira said. "You don't even know what you did, but it isn't over." "And what did I do?" she asked. "Oh no!" she said, "Not now! I'm not even going to waste my time telling you now. When you're like this, you won't even hear me." Kira got up and walked out of the trailer. Dianne watched her leave and then looked over at Jenny. She watched her sitting on the chair with a still, dark look on her face. After feeling her eyes on her for a few minutes, Jenny turned to Dianne and said, "What?" "Kira won't tell you now," she said, "but I will. Maybe you didn't think about it, maybe you did. Maybe you just didn't care. Maybe you did it so you wouldn't have to feel like a woman for a few minutes. It doesn't matter." She looked at Jenny. "It doesn't change the fact that you are a woman. You're a woman who just put her babies in the most danger they have ever been in. For nothing." Dianne turned and walked out. "I'm going to talk to Kira," she said. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Year 1 A.S. Day 56 "And how did that make you feel?" Dr. Warren asked Jenny. "At first nothing," she said quietly. "Then I got angry at both of them." "Why did you get angry with them?" he asked. "They have taken care of you, stood by your side. Been there for you." "Because they weren't with me now," she said. "Because I handled it and..." "And what else did you do?" Dr. Warren interrupted. "I put Sonya in danger," she said in a subdued voice. "I put Sonya and the other baby in danger. I could have gotten them hurt in the fight, I could have miscarried, I could have gotten us all killed. I could have lost her forever." Dr. Warren didn't say anything. He just sat quietly waiting for her to continue. "I wasn't thinking about either of them. Dianne was right. I wanted to feel like I felt when I was beating them down. I knew they were bad news when I saw them coming across the street. I could have gotten the Beretta out long before they got close to me. There was no need to get into it the way I did," she said looking down at her belly. "And would you do it again?" he asked. "No," she said looking back up to him. "Earlier this week you spoke to me about the nightmare you had, how you jumped from the plane and turned into how you are now. Do you remember what we talked about then?" "You said dreams about falling were about loss of control and feeling helpless," she said. "And did doing this give you a feeling that you had regained control?" he asked. "For a moment it did. I felt like myself, like I used to be," she said. "So you were a violent man then?" Dr. Warren asked her. "No. Not unless I needed to be. I mean I didn't look for it, but if it came I was going to handle it," she said looking back at her belly. "But didn't you go looking for it this time? he said to her. "Yes," she said. "And when you had time to think it through, all of it. The altercation, how you felt, your families reaction, the possible outcomes for Sonya and the other child you carry. What was your reaction then?" he asked watching the woman on the couch. "I felt sick," she said in a soft remorseful tone. "Why do you say sick?" he asked. "Because the only time I felt like how I used to be was when I was ready to kill a pair of scumbags. Because everything I was, was reduced to something I had only done a couple of times in my life and that's not what I was when I was a man." "It made me feel like I was cheap. Like I threw out everything good that made me the man I was and settled for the worst part of myself because I could feel it." "What does it say about me, if the only thing left of me is the killer?" she said looking miserably at her feet. "I don't believe you would have killed them, Jenny," he said. "I'm sure that you did feel connected to your core self in a way, but not entirely in the way you are speaking of." "This feeling you had during the altercation. It raised within you feelings of being capable, of knowing what to do and doing it without hesitation. These are traits you have associated with being male in your mind. But there is nothing male about them. You need to find a way to come to grips with the truth that the female you can exhibit these same traits without the toxic portion of your masculinity. As you called it, the worst part of yourself contaminating her." "And above all, for that small moment you felt in control," he said. "But do you still feel in control, knowing what you do?" "Dianne was still right," she said. "I still did it for nothing." "Jenny, despite all of these possible outcomes, you have come through at least physically intact. You may have placed your children in danger, but at this time they are still alive and healthy and growing." "When you were telling me about the time before you had your dream, you mentioned something in passing that I thought was of note. You recalled looking in the mirror and seeing your pregnancy had advanced enough to be visible," he said. Jenny nodded, but didn't say anything. "You also said you couldn't see yourself becoming like the women you had seen in just a few months," he said. "Yes," she answered. "This is something that I think has a great deal of bearing on what later transpired. Until now your pregnancy has been mostly early stages, vomiting, extreme hunger, gaining weight to the extent that you require new clothing." "But these things are not limited to pregnancy. These are all things that a man or a woman experience at different times for different reasons. So for you it has been in some ways an abstract experience." "Now your father, brother-in-law and brother have all become women, but what they have had facing them since the Shift is not the same as you. Your father is either a late menopausal or post menopausal woman. Your other two family members have already experienced at least one or possibly two menstrual cycles, as you would have, had circumstances been different." "For you, this fight did not begin when those men started coming toward you, it began when you saw the ultrasound image in Dr. Waverly's office. It was inevitable the moment you looked in the mirror. And when you had the opportunity to seize back something of what you were, even if it is a part of yourself that you are ashamed of. You took it without hesitation and only once it was past did what you did affect you." Jenny did not say anything. She heard the truth in Dr. Warren's words and she felt ashamed. "After consulting with Dr. Waverly, we think we may have come up with something that may help you in coming to terms with yourself." "And what do you have in mind?" she asked. "Dr. Waverly and I think that you could benefit from wearing a modified empathy belly for a short time. She has already adapted one for you to pick up when you leave here today. We are hoping that briefly experiencing what you will be like in a few short months will allow you to adjust to your circumstances. We would like for you to do it for at least the next two weeks, possibly longer if it has a positive effect for you." Jenny nodded and said she would go there when she left. "Another thing if you will, Jenny. You have reported this altercation to the police, yes?" he asked. She told him that she had and that she had given the card's information to the officer. The policeman had told her that, because all of them had left the scene, all they could do was get a description and file a report. "So you have the card still, then?" he asked. She nodded. "Jenny, I think you should make time to contact the young man who assisted you and thank him," he said finally. She said she would and walked out with him to the waiting area to rejoin Kira and Dianne.

Wish Shift Dreamscapes

Wish shift: Dreamscapes 1 A.S. Day? The first thing I noticed was the reek all of the flowers. The smell of them made the air noxious with their scent. It surrounded me and seemed like it was impregnating even my clothes. It was in my hair and lingered like a thick blanket in my nose and mouth. It was sweet and warm. I could feel soft satin covering me entirely except for my hands. My fingers are bare. I wondered where it came from. I didn't own anything in satin. But it's here now,...

Wish Shift To See Beneath The Skin

Wish Shift: Chapter Thirty To See Beneath The Skin Year 1 A.S. Day 169 Dr. Nakamura leaned over J.L. helping him slowly move forward a step. "That's it," she said encouraging him. "Just take a slow step, you can do it J.L." Jenny was across from him sitting in a chair on the other side of the exercise room that they had set up to work with their charges. She was making come to me motions with her hands and calling for J.L. to reach her. J.L.'s tongue moved in his mouth and he...

Wish Shift Zai Jian

Wish Shift: Chapter Eleven Zai Jian Year 1 A.S. Day 58 Night Jenny sat in her room. She had taken all of the clothing that she would not be wearing anymore and piled it on the bed. She reached for the first empty box and started to fold pants and t-shirts and carefully put them away. It was quiet now. Mom and grandma had already gone out the pop-up to go to sleep. She was by herself now, there was only the light in the room and the darkness outside her window to keep her...

Wish Shift: Chapter Three Armistice Year 1 A.S. Day 38 Jenny didn't know how long she was leaning against mom crying. Mom just let her lean against him until her tears stopped. "It was your grandmother who pointed it out to me," he said after Jenny's tears ceased and she calmed down again. "She said to me a couple of days ago that you were acting just like a couple friends of hers had after their husbands died. She said that they tried to freeze as much of their life as...

Wish Shift Crossing the Rubicon

Wish Shift: Chapter Nineteen Crossing the Rubicon Year 1 A.S. Day 103 Bob's was a little bit busy this morning for a Thursday. Derek had picked Jenny up at her house at the regular time for her appointment, but they still had more than an hour or so to kill when they walked into the restaurant. Bob waved to Jenny and Derek as they came in the door, but he didn't come over. There were too many people cycling through the place at the moment. Jenny was pretty sure that if he got a...

Wish Shift: Chapter Twenty One The Sand Between Her Toes Year 1 A.S. Day 115 "Hang on I want to ask Derek if he can get away," she said. Jenny quickly dialed Derek and talked to him for a few minutes and then hung up. "Derek can't come," she said obviously disappointed. "He can't get away from the shop today. If you had given us more notice he probably could have," she said turning back to packing her beach bag. Kira glanced at Dianne. She'd noticed the us in that sentence...

Wish Shift Pathways

Wish Shift: Chapter Eight Pathways Year 1 A.S. Day 46 Jenny heard the car pull into her lot in the dim glow of light just before dawn. She had been up until almost midnight the night before and had needed to rush to the toilet sometime in the early morning hours to deal with a bout of morning sickness. Those had been coming less frequently this last week and she was starting to hope that she may be close to parting ways with this particular aspect of being a woman soon. Leaning...

Wish Shift Adjustments

Wish Shift: Adjustments 1 A.S. Day 147 When Derek got out of the shower, he was still half in amazement at Jenny. He toweled himself dry and wrapped the damp towel around himself. He figured he might as well make the bed after he put some clothes on. He really wanted to do something nice for Jenny today, but right now he couldn't think of what it should be. He found himself thinking about what she had told him about Sonya and that brought him back to last night and what she said to...

Wish Shift : Chapter Ten Tabula Rasa Year 1 A.S. Day 56 Before they went to Dr. Waverly's, Kira and Dianne took her to get a couple of new sets of clothes. Jenny had already apologized to them for being angry with how they reacted to her risking herself and the twins, but there were still some dark feelings swimming around them. She was still out of sorts herself as well. She was wearing the last of her inherited bras and in the last couple of days it had been much too tight for...

Wish Shift: Chapter Twelve Revelations Year 1 A.S. Day 65 Sam looked around the outside dining area at Java Jolts. "You know I don't usually go to places like this," she said. Wish Shift: Chapter Eighteen Two By Moonlight Year 1 A.S. Day 92 Jenny slowed the truck down and stopped. Part One The Winter of her Heart Wish Shift: Chapter One Reunions 1 A.S. Day 32 She was still trying to sleep. It wasn't her first international trip. The problem was, even with all of the shades down on the windows, you could still see the outline of daylight around them. October 1, 1984, McKinley, Ohio “Hi, Ang,” I said when she came to the phone. “Hi, Mike!” she answered. “How are you?” “Fine. How are you?” “OK. Have you thought about what I asked?” “Yes. Has Doctor Mercer talked to you about it?” “Yes,” Angie sighed. “And you agree with her?” “It’s more complicated than that,” I replied gently. “At this point, with my upcoming ordination, that kind of sin would be a serious problem. The Great Shift Healing Hands

The Great Shift: Healing Hands By Johnny Girl ([email protected]) I stared down at my hands. My hands. I still had trouble believing they were really mine. They were long and slender and delicate and feminine, wearing rings and bracelets, the fingers tipped with sparkly purple fingernail polish. These weren't the hands I was familiar with. The Great Shift The Empty Place Inside Part 1 of 2 revised

The Great Shift: The Empty Place Inside by BlueshifTG Part 1 The straps were loosened on the black 1" heel shoes tumbled under the desk.
