Wish Shift: Chapter Eleven Zai Jian Year 1 A.S. Day 58 Night Jenny sat in her room. She had taken all of the clothing that she would not be wearing anymore and piled it on the bed. She reached for the first empty box and started to fold pants and t-shirts and carefully put them away. It was quiet now. Mom and grandma had already gone out the pop-up to go to sleep. She was by herself now, there was only the light in the room and the darkness outside her window to keep her company. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Day They had not been able to find many pairs of pants for her, so they had settled on a few that were only a few inches too long. Jenny had been just thinking of rolling them up to her ankles and just leaving them that way, but Mom told her that he would take them up with him and Amelia when they had to go and they would alter them for her. They would have them ready for her when the empathy belly came off. Jenny considered what they were both talking about while they discussed the simple alterations. She probably should spend some time with them in the future learning what they were talking about doing. Her legs weren't going to get any longer and she couldn't do what she was going to ask Liu Hong for help with for the rest of her life. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night The box filled up. She closed it, sealed it with packing tape and wrote on the box with a black marker. She picked it up and carried it to the main room and left it on the floor. She went back into the light, opened up another box and started reaching for more clothes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day After they had finished shopping for clothes for her, they stopped at one of the nearby restaurants to get something for lunch. Jenny told them that she had been thinking while they were looking over the pants that she may have an idea that could take care of some of her clothing problem. She started telling them about her friend Liu Hong. She thought that, if she asked him to, he would send her some clothes. She could order them from Taubao, one of the many big online retailers there and have them shipped to Hong. He could re-ship them to her here. By the time they got here, she should not be wearing the empathy belly any longer and she thought that she would have better luck there looking for clothes that fit there. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night The open box was not quite full, the first thing she had placed in it was the big summer hat. The tights and stockings she had brought with her were in the crown of the hat to keep it from being damaged. Skirts and shorts were mostly what went into this one. She closed it and quickly wrote on it as well. A couple of black tinged tears had dropped onto the cardboard, but that was all right. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day They spent about three or four hours online after the three of them got back. There were a lot of pages to go through and for some of them they needed to convert English measurements into metric. The pants were easier to deal with. The sizing chart that they had made it clear that she wouldn't have as much of a problem with her short legs getting some things from here as she found herself having earlier. Despite their discussion of pants, Jenny was more interested in getting dresses, skirts and loose blouses. If her brief experience with the empathy belly yesterday had taught her nothing else, it was that she was going to need a lot of room in her clothes for the next few months. They would also have to be lightweight as well. Summer was coming. The warm, pleasant days of the last few weeks had started to take on a brassy edge. There had already been a few afternoons when they had to roll down the windows in the car to let some of the built up heat escape before driving. She knew it would be nothing like a south China summer. There the humidity hung like a wet blanket and after a rain you could get the feeling that you were breathing water from all of the moisture in the air. She had lost count of how many times she had barely noticed the summer heat here when she came back to visit. But this time she was going to spend the summer as a pregnant woman. And she wanted every chance she could have to get some degree of comfort. Mom and grandma both murmured some sounds of appreciation at some of the choices that she had and as they passed from page to page she heard them comparing the styles and designs that she was browsing with the choices they had for their own first pregnancy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night Even though she was taking her time, the pile of clothing was getting smaller. She knew how many boxes it would take to put them all away. It would be the same as she had needed to bring them here. She slowly packed the padded bras in this one. Sonya had always been a little self- conscious about her small breasts and had only bought this type. Jenny felt her breasts shift in her bra each time she bent over the boxes to put something inside. Sonya would have been much happier and less insecure about her bust size now she thought. She finished the box and started on the next one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day While they were browsing, making sure to bookmark the ones that had caught their eyes, Jenny had sent a message to Hong on her QQ account. Just to be sure she sent the same one to him on WeChat. She was just looking over pictures of a sleeveless one piece with an angled hem after she did that. When she was much bigger than now, the hem would trail back toward her legs without hanging in front of her like a tent. It had a V neck as well and it looked like it would be comfortable for her. Her phone chirped to let her know about an incoming message. She asked Mom to keep looking for her while she took this. He said he'd be glad to do it and took over surfing duty. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night She looked into the last box. She had already cleared the small drawers. and the small cabinet was also empty. All that was really left were the few things on the bed now and what she was wearing. She started putting the things on the bed away. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day It was not that early in the morning there, so Hong had a little time to talk. She had been keeping in regular contact with him through QQ most of the time, so except that she didn't see him anymore, she still sometimes could forget that he was so far away. She told him what she was thinking of and asked if he could ship it to her if she sent it to him first. He quickly assured her that he would be happy to do it for her. He asked her if she would be coming back sometime, if not to work again than at least to visit. She told him that she didn't know right now, but that if she did, she would let him know. By the time they had finished going through the website, the three of them were fairly certain that Jenny would be fine for the next few months. A lot of the outfits could be worn for most of her remaining pregnancy and if she got bigger than what they expected they were not concerned that she would have any more problems in this area. Jenny paid for it and entered Liu Hong's address for them to ship to. During the conversation with Hong and between picking out different choices on Taubao Jenny finally told Mom why she had asked him to help her this morning. She didn't get into all of the details, but when she told him that this was more about having one last day to be as she was before what was coming after tomorrow, she thought that she could see that he understood her meaning without the need for Jenny to say any more. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Night There was only the clothing she wore left to put away. She looked at herself in the mirror. She reached out slowly to the image in the glass. Her fingers touched the cool surface and she slowly sank to her knees. She bent her head toward the glass with her arms outstretched above her head. The tears that had been dropping occasionally up until now, began to stream down her cheeks. Dark trails of mascara marked their path down her face. Over and over as she sobbed quietly into the mirror she softly repeated the same faint words in Chinese to the crying woman reflected there. "Zai jian Yu Hua, zai jian wo ai ren, wo peng you. Wo ai ni, wo ai ni jintian, wo ai ni mintian," she would have said more but she didn't know the words, so these would have to do. Over and over again. "Goodbye Sonya, goodbye my love, my friend. I love you. I love you today, I love you tomorrow. Always." Over and over she said the words, until the sounds lost meaning, but held all meaning. The woman and her image in the glass cried together spilling her grief, until she had no more tears within her to fall. Long after the last one had fallen, she still knelt there, face against the glass, touching the image. The last thing she placed in the box was the necklace. She laid it delicately on the folded clothing. She looked down on the jade lion sitting on the jade lotus flower, the yu hua that Sonya was named for. Jenny took a deep breath and she closed the box. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Year 1 A.S. Day 59 Amelia woke up before Danny did. She stretched and enjoyed the feel of her muscles moving without the creaking and myriad small pains that she had learned to live with before the Shift. She hoped that whoever it was who had been born in this body had gone into someone else and not her. She didn't know though and when she was feeling melancholy, she thought of the young woman being cast into her body, just as her heart failed and hoped that it was quick if she had been. She had enjoyed spending the time that they did yesterday that way. Although she had also ended up getting a few items for herself, she was glad that they were able to at least get the amount of things for Jenny that they had. Decades as a nurse had given her an intimate access to people in pain and in sorrow. She had paid attention to her new granddaughter very closely when she got back. When Kira had told them about the fight that Jenny had gotten into she had conflicted feelings about it, once she knew that Jenny was all right. While she was horrified for her and had quickly become furious at the scum that still floated around, even after such a monumental change as the Shift, she also had felt a twinge of sympathy for them. They had really chosen the wrong woman to try this on and had paid for it. Her only real surprise hearing about it was that Jenny had not emptied her pistol into their balls. Jenny and how she was doing was a frequent topic of conversation between Amelia and Danny. Of course Jake's ongoing deterioration came up almost as much, but the place Jenny was in concerned them both much more. Amelia had mentioned that before long Jenny would act out in some fashion. Yes, she was trying earnestly after Danny had spoken with her, but that didn't mean that she was in any way through it all the way. With life slowly returning to some semblance of normal, there would not be much longer that they would be able to be with her before the interrupted business of the rest of their lives resumed. Little Jake and Mattie had already returned to school this week. It had taken some time to bring some order out of the chaos, but classes were resuming and would continue up until just before Fourth of July before taking a brief summer break and then resume during the normal time next fall. Mattie now, she wished that she could do more for that little boy. He was facing going back into the same grade as a four year old, or would he be five soon? She wasn't sure. Maybe she would remember to ask Kim if he knew when Mattie's body was born. She didn't envy Mattie having to walk down those halls. High school was stressful enough before the Shift and with the changes in her classmates it still would not be easy for him. She opened the outer trailer door. The inner one was locked so she used their key to open it and step inside. The first things she saw were the boxes. Five medium ones stacked in the middle of the room. She recognized some of the dark drops that were dried now as mascara tinted tears. She looked down at the first box to see just what Jenny had put on it. There was only one thing, written on the top. She checked the sides, but there was nothing else. She shifted it and looked over the other ones, each of them packed, sealed and written on with the same words. Sonya and yesterday's date. Amelia had heard her crying last night. Jenny probably thought they were asleep, but she and Danny had been quietly talking for hours when they heard the first stabbing sobs. Danny had gotten up to go it to her, but Amelia had told him not to. As much as he wanted to hold Jenny and comfort her, this was not the time. Amelia recognized the sound of those tears coming through the wall. She had shed them when Lloyd had died and as much as she felt her heart cry in sympathy for Jenny those tears were for her alone to shed. She looked down at the boxes and picked one up and took it out to the pop-up. There were still some empty cargo sections that they could fit in until they put them in the car to take back. Jenny didn't need to see Sonya's grave when she did wake up and leave her room. Danny started to stir a bit from the quiet noise she made shifting and shuffling things around to get them all to fit, but he didn't wake up. Amelia breathed a sigh of relief that she had gotten them all put away before Jenny had woken up. She slipped back in to her room and looked down at the sleeping woman. She had washed her face before she slept. Amelia recalled that she hadn't done that when she cried for Lloyd and it had made a mess. She was glad that Jenny still had the presence of mind to do so. But the thing that made her relax most was seeing her sleeping form. She was lying on her side. Her face looked calm. The long t-shirt that she wore to sleep in clung to her and to the round shape of the empathy belly she was wearing. Amelia slid the door shut as quietly as she could so she wouldn't wake her. Amelia took the car into town. She thought about getting some doughnuts and coffee to bring back to them. Jenny had stopped vomiting from the smell for a little while now, but she still had not gotten any in the house. She thought about going to the coffee shop she went into with Jenny. The one with the good looking manager that helped her out, but it wasn't open yet. She settled for some of the doughnut shop's coffee and headed back to the trailer. Amelia pulled into the road going to Jenny's trailer. When she pulled into her lot she stopped the car and just sat and watched for a moment. Jenny had not packed everything away. She was wearing her exercise outfit for T'ai Chi and was going through those slow purposeful precise movements. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail and she was engrossed in her actions. The only difference was now she was doing it while wearing her empathy belly. Amelia took the coffee and the box of doughnuts inside and put them all on the counter. Danny was there on the little couch. "How long has she been doing that?" Amelia asked. "She started a little bit after you left," Danny said keeping watch out the window. "How does she seem to you?" Amelia said unpacking the coffee from the cardboard holder. "She seems ok, but I'm keeping an eye on her," Danny said. "Don't make it obvious," Amelia said pouring some of her cup of coffee into a mug. "She may have let a lot out of her last night, but it will take a little more I think before she gets on an even keel." "We'll just do what we can," Danny said. Amelia offered Danny a lemon filled doughnut. "Have you heard from Kira and Dianne yet?" "They got back fine," Danny said taking the doughnut and taking a bite. "She really is beautiful when she does that," he said. "Yes, she is," Amelia replied. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Year 1 A.S. Day 59 Jenny had a meeting with Dr. Nakamura just before noon. Dr. Min had wanted to develop some way to measure what Jenny had told her over the weekend, so she had left Jenny with one of her assistants to continue their practice. No one said anything to her about the sudden change in the size of her belly. The word must have gotten around pretty quickly. Some of the people who worked there had offered her some compliments on how well she had handled the men who came after her. Jenny just quietly thanked them and shifted the conversation in other directions. Both Danny and Amelia joined her for her meeting with Dr. Nakamura. Amelia hadn't met the short, red haired woman before and there was a little bit of time taken to sort out who was who before they could get started. "I am very pleased that I can give you some very good news about his progress," she said in her high sweet voice. "Yesterday evening, he rolled over by himself and attempted to raise his head to look up. He has also started to attempt to move arms and legs in a fashion that suggest that in the very near term he will be starting to crawl." The three women just looked at her waiting for her to continue. "This is remarkable development from our perspective," she said. "It corresponds to the development of a much older child, somewhere on the level of a six month old to seven month old. When you remember that he has been here for a little over seven weeks we consider that to be remarkable progress." "I want to give him a name," Jenny said quietly, seemingly not hearing the enthusiastic Dr. Nakamura. "Of course you should," she said. "Do you have a name in mind? I'll put it in the system right away," she said reaching for her notepad. "James Lloyd," she said quietly. "For his father and grandfather." Amelia didn't say anything, but she could feel herself wanting to cry a bit. This would be the second time that she had gotten emotional over the name of a baby in this body," she kept her face even and waited until they could be alone to say something. She also thought she knew the other reason that Jenny was doing this. She was passing on being James to her son. It would be his burden to bear now, but he had time to decide what that would be and how he would carry it. Dr. Nakamura asked Jenny if she could come with her, she felt that it was time for her to begin spending more time with her son, now that he had developed to a point that her being there was becoming important. Jenny asked mom and grandma if they wanted to come this time, but they told her that she should be the first family there for now. They watched her moving carefully in the empathy belly as she followed the diminutive doctor out the door. When they were gone Danny asked Amelia how she felt about Jenny doing this. She answered that she was as touched and a little proud of her, as she had been when Jenny had taken Amelia's name just after the Shift. "But the thing that makes me feel much better now is that I think that she's really on her way now," Amelia said wiping away a stray tear. "I think she's going to be all right." Danny hugged his old friend and said he hoped so too.

Wish Shift Dreamscapes

Wish shift: Dreamscapes 1 A.S. Day? The first thing I noticed was the reek all of the flowers. The smell of them made the air noxious with their scent. It surrounded me and seemed like it was impregnating even my clothes. It was in my hair and lingered like a thick blanket in my nose and mouth. It was sweet and warm. I could feel soft satin covering me entirely except for my hands. My fingers are bare. I wondered where it came from. I didn't own anything in satin. But it's here now,...

Jenny had just turned it on after loading it and walked into the dining room. She needed to sit down. The effort of loading the bedding had made her a little dizzy. She saw Derek at the table. He had his laptop open and was writing down some notes occasionally on a scrap piece of paper. He flipped between the open tabs and frowned before writing...

Wish Shift Seed

Wish Shift: Chapter Seventeen Seed Year 1 A.S. Day 91 Grandma sauntered out of the trailer wearing a red and white bikini. She had her auburn hair pulled back and she was wearing a pair of oversize sunglasses. She lay down on the folding lawn chair and started rubbing tanning lotion into her skin. Jenny giggled to herself and tried to imagine her as she was before wearing that bikini and just couldn't picture it. She turned back to cranking the blower on the coals to get them...

Wish Shift The Ashes Of Empire

Wish Shift: Chapter Thirty-Eight The Ashes of Empire Year 1 A.S. Day 193 0920 Hours Amy opened the door. There were two men standing there, both of them were dressed in dark suits. She thought for a moment that they might have been someone sent from the church and asked the two men what they wanted. The shorter one, a stocky black man told her that they needed to speak with her and her husband immediately. When she nodded agreeably and opened the door for them the taller of the...

Lacy Finds A Nubian Spear fea Lord Zaire

Lacy glances into the 3-paneled mirror and a cute girly smile flashes across her face. She gently strokes her stringy below, shoulder-length shiny blonde hair. She bats her eyes then prances and preens before the mirror. The stretchy black and white stripe mini-dress clung to her curvy yet slightly muscular body. Black fishnet stockings, with small white bowties, highlighted her shapely legs which shrank down to her small ankles which fit loosely in a pair of shiny black leather, open toe 3’...

Wish Shift The Things That Bind You

Wish Shift: Chapter Twenty Seven The Things That Bind You Year 1 A.S. Day 157 Jenny looked up when Derek opened the front door. She was in the kitchen going over some of what she wanted to do with him during the next week. She put down the pad of paper that she had been writing ideas on down on the counter and walked into the living room to see why he was back so early today. She had been busy over the last few days. In fact she had only really left the house when she had to. As...

Wish Shift The First Kiss of Dawn

Wish Shift: Chapter Forty-Two The First Kiss of Dawn Year 1 A.S. Day 228 Day 273 of Jenny's Pregnancy 8:30 A.M. One hundred and sixty pounds. That was about how much her ruck had weighed after she had crammed gear, twenty-four MRE's, an anti-tank mine, a thousand rounds for her SAW and an M-72 anti-tank rocket into it when she climbed onto a UH-60 Blackhawk and they sent her against the Iraqi army. One hundred and fifty pounds was what she had used as her average set when...

Wish Shift Deflection

Wish Shift: Chapter Two Deflection Year 1 A.S. Day 32 No one laughed when Kira said that to her. Not that it wasn't just like something she would say and that it wasn't amusing in its own way. Jenny was mostly sure it was because none of them really knew what to say. Like her mom had said to her in the restroom, it was just something that he never expected to hear from her son, even if her son was now her daughter. She supposed that it also brought home to her sister Kira and...

Wish Shift Confessions

Wish Shift: Chapter Thirteen Confessions Year 1 A.S. Day 76 "I'm sorry to hear that," Derek said. "Is she one of your friends? I've heard you and your family mention the name from time to time, but I don't think I've met her." Derek was trying to be polite she realized. She realized also that she needed to tell someone about it now, so she asked him if he had time to sit down for a bit. Wish Shift Pebble

Wish Shift: Chapter Fourteen Pebble Year 1 A.S. Day 85 Kirby's little shop sat off to the side of an old drive-in that had been built here when this was the edge of town some fifty years before. Surprisingly to Jenny the sign out in front of the old drive-in said that they were still in business on the weekends. She looked at it casually out of the truck window as she drove past and considered going there sometime, if it was really still in business. The posts holding...

Wish Shift Breaking Point

Wish Shift: Chapter Sixteen Breaking Point Year 1 A.S. Day 91 After leaving Dr. Waverly's office Jenny asked them if they would stop at Java Jolts on the way to the grocery store. She said she wanted to get a tea and return the book that Derek had loaned her. Mom and Amelia both said it was fine and exchanged a quick look between themselves that Jenny didn't catch from the back seat. Danny didn't really have an opinion about whatever Jenny's interest in Derek was yet. Sam had, of...

Wish Shift: Chapter Thirty-Four What Can't Be Unseen Year 1 A.S. Day 185 "He said what to you?" Danny asked L.J. "He said that both of us needed to be ready to leave school soon," L.J. said. "Do we really have to leave school now grandma?" he asked. "It just started up again and I don't need any more breaks if I am going to graduate with the rest of the class next year." Wish Shift: Chapter Nine Confrontation Year 1 A.S. Day 47 Kira and Dianne held Jenny and rocked her as her screams ebbed and faded into sobs then into soft painful moans. When she mostly stopped shaking, Dianne asked Kira to go into the little kitchen and brew her some tea. She continued holding her as the color slowly returned to her face and the trembling...

Wish Shift And the Fruit it Bears

Wish Shift: And The Fruit It Bears 1 A.S. Day 146 Jenny looked at her face in the small mirror on the counter. She ran a quick check on what she saw reflected there. The lessons she had been getting from mom when he came down to visit and all the practice she had recently was starting to really pay off. Blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick, all of it looked just exactly the way she wanted it to look. Her hair on the longer side she had used a curling iron on, to make it...

Wish Shift The Chrysalis Left Behind You

Wish Shift: Chapter Twenty-Nine The Chrysalis Left Behind You Year 1 A.S. Day 164 She woke up naked in their bed and stretched. His arm was around her still and she had to shift him a bit to finish stretching before slipping out from under the light blanket that was around her feet where she had kicked it in her sleep. Her pussy had a pleasant achy feeling of having been well used from the previous evening and she was just basking in how good it still felt to her right now. She...

Chapter Thirty-Two Slouching Toward Hades Year 1 A.S. Day 176 Jenny unfolded the small fan. She had bought it on her trip to Beijing with Sonya before they came back from their skiing holiday. Sonya had gotten the woman selling them down to about thirty and they had bought some as gifts as well. This one she had kept for herself. It had a printed design of a...

Wish Shift: The Blooming of the Rose 1 A.S Day 139 Jenny got what sleep she could. It wasn't much but somehow when she got up to start getting ready she didn't notice the lack. She was so animated that she was almost manic in her movements. While she had been lying on the bed waiting for sleep to come to her, she had been turning over all of the different ways that she could use to find out if Derek felt the same for her that she felt for him. After letting a parade of...

The Great Shift Healing Hands

The Great Shift: Healing Hands By Johnny Girl ([email protected]) I stared down at my hands. My hands. I still had trouble believing they were really mine. They were long and slender and delicate and feminine, wearing rings and bracelets, the fingers tipped with sparkly purple fingernail polish. These weren't the hands I was familiar with. They weren't the rough and strong and calloused hands I'd been so dependent on; they were weak and soft and smooth and small and useless...

The Great Shift Summers End

The Great Shift - Summer's End By Limbo's Mistress "Dad, I'm home," a voice from the front of the house called right before I heard the slam of the front door. I looked up from the papers spread out on the kitchen counter to see my daughter, Carrie, walk into the room. She stopped at the table and slipped the backpack off her shoulders, hanging it on the back of one of the chairs. Then she walked over to the opposite side of the counter and leaned against it, grabbing an apple from...

Great Shift The Origin

* Warning, this story uses the events that happened on Sept. 11, 2001 as a loose model in trying to give a feel of the carnage that'd happens during a massive calamity. If you feel this depiction is too traumatizing in bringing up memories, or if you have PTSD issues, you may not want to read ths story.* The Great Shift (Origins) I like many have enjoyed many a story of the fun and mayhem of that fateful day that the world was turned on it's ear, and many a men had to learn...

The Great Shift The Empty Place Inside Part 1 of 2 revised

The Great Shift: The Empty Place Inside by BlueshifTG Part 1 The straps were loosened on the black 1" heel shoes tumbled under the desk. One stockinged foot was on the floor, the other unsteadily balanced on the plastic trash can; the position pulled the leather skirt tight above the green-nailed fingers that absent-mindedly rubbed a spot on the outside of the right knee. The woman was leaning back in her chair, head...

The Wish Shift Part One The Winter of Her Heart

The Wish Shift Prologue Year 1 A.S. Day 16 The office had very little decoration. A couple of framed prints on the walls of mountains that could be from anywhere in the western U.S. but existed only in the printmaker's imagination. There were no family pictures on the desk's surface so the young Chinese woman who was presently sitting in one of the two chairs facing the desk knew that this was no one's actual office. It was just an interrogation room. Small, windowless and...

The Great Shift Summers End Part 2

Once upon a time, I used to be the type of guy who firmly believed women could never get ready on time because they could never decide what to wear. I mean, what guy hasn't watched any number of sitcoms or romcoms where the husband/boyfriend continually looks at his watch, becoming more and more exasperated and impatient, while his darling dear tries on an entire wardrobe's worth of clothing? No matter how relaxed the dress code of the event they are attending, the woman has to make...

The Great Shift Summers End Part 4

The Great Shift - Summer's End (Part 4) by Limbo's Mistress Tyrone began to stir about three minutes before the police arrived. I noticed it first, the twitch of the fingers of his left hand. Instantly, the memory of that massive hand being slammed against my face, and the harsh way they had groped and fondled me, rushed forward, drowning out everything else. As if I were reliving it all over again. Huddled beneath the blanket, I curled tighter in on myself, and a...

The Great Shift Summer Vacation

The Great Shift: Summer Vacation By Limbo's Mistress "We're here." I pulled the big SUV into the empty spot between the beach house's legs. The other two parking spaces were taken by a black Mercedes convertible and a bright yellow Prius. Apparently my parents and sister had beat us here. The three-story structure that would be our home for the week sat overlooking the shoreline of Myrtle Beach. Identical houses, though painted a different color, stood on either side of...

The Great Shift The Empty Place Inside part 2 of 2

The Great Shift: The Empty Place Inside by BlueshifTG Part 2 The young woman opened her eyes. What she saw was all white, slowly resolving into different shades of white, and two corners. That was the extent of it: three walls. Part of it was different, yellow, that's it, with some sort of pattern--a curtain. On the other side, a door. In the corner, high, a box. A mouth, a speaker, no, a camera; a...
